Garmadon had a genius plan. Okay, it was just a plan to visit his brother but whatever. Wu's letters had been becoming rarer, as if something else was taking up his time. So like the amazing older brother he is, the master of destruction decided to sneak in and prepare them breakfast to surprise Wu.
He easily scaled the walls, looking down at the courtyard from his place on the roof and couldn't help but frown. The training course was on but there was noone in sight. It was unlike Wu to forget about the equipment or to leave it on even for a few minutes...
He didn't get to finish the thought as invisible force slammed into him, pushing the brunette down. Only thanks to his divine nature and skills he didn't get hurt, instead landing on all fours and quickly shifted into a battle stance.
"Show yourself, whoever you are!" he yelled but there was no response.
He unsheathed his katana, looking around for the one that struck him. He didn't have to search long as the attacker revealed themselves the moment he turned his back. He blocked -a wooden sword?- and the person flipped over to the other side of the courtyard. It was a child.
(Well,a child or a tall dwarf and the latter didn't live in Ninjago).
The child turned around, brushing away black hair from their face and hissed at him. Then lunged at him. Garmadon barely managed to catch them, knocking away the wooden sword with ease. He held the child by the back of his clothes, holding them away from himself.
"Let go!" the child screamed, waving their arms around like claws. Each movement was accomponied by a breeze.
With a moment to think, Garmadon noted several things:
First, the child was in a gray training gi, clearly custom tailored. They could fight if the small bits of their skill Garmadon saw was anything to go by.
Second, the child made noises that human children shouldn't make. That was an impressive imitation of a dragon's hiss considering this looked like a human child.
Third, the air. Child clearly had some power over it, Garmadon was sure of that...but he didn't think a power over the air was one gifted to mortals. He always thought father made up the stories of water and storm...
"Uh,hey!I don't know who you are but can we stop fighting?Or I'll have to-hey!"
He had to step out of the way of a flying wooden sword.
"Let go of me!" the child screamed and Garmadon didn't.
The child bit him.
...
When Morro heard the person climbing over a wall, he knew he should've alerted his teacher and watched sensei spinjitsu the fool trying to break into the monastery...
But!
He had a very good reason for not doing so. Sensei had said that Morro was the best and way ahead of his peers so surely he'd be able to take one measly intruder?Especially if it's some sort of a test organized by Wu. Not to mention, he had the wind helping him anyway. Also, he was bored and spinjitsuing the intruder seemed far more interesting than watching Wu do it(so what if he didn't know actual spinjitsu? He'd still beaten them.)
So when the intruder got the upper hand, Morro did what any reasonable person would do and escaped his hold. While the older man was clutching his hand, Morro tripped him and climbed on him, his training sword back in his hands. The man didn't move.
"Okay, kid. If you feel safer this way, I won't-"
Morro whacked him in the head with his sword then one more time just to be sure. The man's shout must have reached sensei because the next moment his teacher was in the doorway,an alarmed look on his face.
"Morro,are you okay?"
Wu approached his student who looked unhurt. The child was grinning.
"Sensei! Some guy tried to break into the monastery and I defeated him!" Morro said, quickly running up to him. Oh-
Wait,what?
"What do you mean break in-Oh father, are you hurt? Did they hurt you? Why didn't you call me? Morro-"
"I'm fine!" The child was quick to reassure though that didn't stop Wu from looking him over for any sign of something wrong. If someone so much as lay a hand on his child, Wu will make sure they suffer a fate worse than death. "They weren't even that strong! And they are stupid too, so it wasn't hard. Who tries to ninja their way into a ninja master's home? And they didn't even think to use the door, it was right there-"
Wu chuckled as his student rambled on about how foolish the intruder was. The child pulled at his arm, leading him over to where his defeated enemy lay and a fond smile graced Wu's face, a lecture on the tip of his tongue saved away for later- only to pause as he took a good look at said 'intruder'.
"Brother?"
...
"You!" Garmadon pointed an accusatory finger at Wu as the latter smothered his face in healing tea. "You didn't tell me you got a kid!
"It slipped my mind-"
"It slipped your mind to tell me I'm an uncle? In all the years-"
"Garmadon,he is my student-
"What is his name? How long have you had him? And does he have air powers?" Garmadon fired question after question, pushing away the cup of steaming hot tea offered to him.
"Morro's been in my care for a...little over a month, I think? I-"
"A month!-"
"I lost track of time! Anyway, he is an elemental master of wind and -don't interrupt me, I know we thought it to be a myth- I'm training him. He is quite the prodigy as I'm sure you noticed."
The last part was accomponied by a mischievous smirk.
"Wu!" Garmadon made an offended sound-
"You got beat by a ten-year old."
"I-Whatever! I'm not entertaining this conversation. You're going to introduce me to my nephew- fine, your student!" The man corrected at the look he received. "And I'm going to make him a nice meal and it'll be the best he ever had because the poor boy had to tolerate your cooking-"
"Hey!"
