Thoughts and prayers

Summary:

Ido hasn't been in the best mood, Magnus isn't the best at this

Work Text:

It's been about a month since Ido and Magnus have talked. Neither of them reaching out. Magnus grew worried for his companion, noticing a severe lack of people bothering him at random moments.

Magnus decided to go for a walk during the night to clear his thoughts a little bit. Watching the beautiful stars. As he was passing by the park he felt as if someone was watching him, so he stopped walking. He looked around, feeling a bit paranoid. He was about to just call himself crazy and move on before seeing something in the corner of his eye.

It was ido, sitting in a tree on a high branch, staring directly at Magnus as if he was a walking ghost that happened to have something against him in his previous life. Ido's gaze pulled away, turning around to look at the horizon, opposite of Magnus.

As much as Magnus wanted to go home and rest, he also wanted to talk to Ido, although wasn't quite sure what to say. Magnus walked over to the tree, leaned against it and looked on the same horizon.

There was silence for a long while before a raspy voice from above reluctantly spoke up,
"What do you want, Magnus."
He sounded tired, as if he hasn't slept in days.

"Well, I mostly am wondering how you are doing, you've kind of disappeared for awhile."

"Why do you care." Ido jumped off the tree, scaring Magnus as he watched the man fall and then casually get up before walking away.

"Whoa hold on!" Magnus swiftly grabbed Ido, he wasn't sure why, he could have just let him leave.
"I care about you! Is that so wrong?"

"Yes, actually." Ido looked over his shoulder just to glare at Magnus. His gaze felt sharp and magnus couldn't help but lean back a bit, loosening the grip on Ido.

"Ido, what's going on?" Magnus took a step closer but the sentiment only seemed to make Ido close off more, pulling away from his grasp and scrunching his face, continuing the glare.

"Just leave me alone Magnus. Go back to whoever you love more, which I'm sure is literally anyone else."

"What? Ido, don't tell me that's why you're so upset."

"Well good! Cause it's not!" Ido began walking again, Magnus slowly following.

"Ido please just talk to me!"

"After all the times you refused to talk to me?"

"What? I haven't-?"

Ido scoffed, rolling his eyes and walking faster away.
"Ido!"

"Fuck off!"

Magnus sighed, watching Ido run off. Deciding he wouldn't get anywhere with him. He'll come back eventually, although can't say he's ever done this before.

Magnus begins to walk more after a minute, in the same direction Ido ran. He feels himself step on something, he bends down to pick it up and looks at the little golden ring, little uneven stars that go around it. Magnus had the same one, it was a gift from Ido after their 'wedding', like matching wedding rings that Magnus wasn't sure if Ido stole or made...

As Magnus put the ring in his pocket, he remembered he has no idea where he put his matching one.
