Work Text:
It was a crisp, warm morning. The morning air wafted throughout the comfortable home.
Mitsuri was cooking omurice, the delicious smell filling the kitchen mixed with the constant humming of her. She was in a good mood, a bubbly one to be specific. She always was.
If you look closer, you can see a ring, a diamond ring wrapped around her ring finger. Ah yes, Mitsuri was lovingly married to Shinobu Kochou. She had a crush on Shinobu when she first saw the girl at college, it was love at first sight; she was absolutely lovestruck. After a few months of meeting, they got into a relationship and blah blah blah she got Shinobu's sister’s blessing and then BOOM.
They were married! Such a nice love story ain't it? Really fluffy and stuff like that. Her thoughts were interrupted as she heard her wife's footsteps behind her. She was soon met by two arms wrapped around her and a small muffled yawn that vibrated on her back.
“Morning, dear..” Shinobu mumbled, sleep still evident in her voice. Mitsuri blushed from embarrassment as she felt her wife lean against her from behind. She always was a flustered, nice, and soft-hearted mess whenever she gets embarrassed.
“A-ah..good morning to you too..Sh-Shinobu-chan…” Mitsuri stammered. God, she really was a mess whenever her wife was around. She looked over her shoulder to see her, still sleepy wife’s head buried in her hair. The girl was slightly shorter than her. Only reaching midway of her cheeks.
Shinobu’s hair was down. Still messy from bed.
“H-How was your sleep..?” Mitsuri stuttered out, ‘Get yourself together, Mitsuri! Don't make a fool out of yourself in front of your own wife!’
“Slept..mnn..like a baby.” Shinobu mumbled, her head still nuzzled in Mitsuri's pink and green braids, her messy bed hair only visible.
It was silent for a while until an idea popped up in Mitsuri's head, “What if we bake?” Mitsuri exclaimed excitedly, baking was a good idea to spend time and pass the day!
“Hm?” Shinobu lifted her head from Mitsuri’s hair with an intrigued expression on her face. “Baking? That sounds fun.” Shinobu smiled at the fact that she'll be baking with her wife, who in fact, was an excellent cook! Better than she'll ever be.
“Well then, get your apron and we'll get started!” Mitsuri smiled brightly and beamed light so much that Shinobu had to squint.
“Alright, alright, I’ll change.” Shinobu stood on her tippy-toes and kissed Mitsuri’s cheek affectionately before turning around to walk back to their shared bedroom with a small smile on her face. Leaving Mitsuri a red and smoking mess.
Mitsuri froze, lifting a trembling hand to touch her cheek where Shinobu kissed her. She turned red, not even noticing the omelette was getting burnt.

Shinobu came out looking stunning as ever, her hair neatly kept by her butterfly clip, leaving only her bangs and side hair visible. She was wearing a royal purple colored turtleneck with sleeves rolled up to her elbow matched with black flare pants, all her clothes are dark making her pale skin glow from the morning rays.
Mitsuri thought she was beautiful, ethereal even. Her smile, her body, her eyes, her nose, her everything. In short, Mitsuri thought she had married a goddess in disguise.
Shinobu was wearing a white apron with wisteria flowers as a design. Mitsuri’s thoughts were interrupted by Shinobu’s voice saying, “Shall we start?” Shinobu said softly with a smile on her lips.
Both were kinda confused on what to bake, it was either going to be Japanese Cheesecake or Castella Cake. Either one should be easy to bake, and delicious.
They started to play Rock, Paper, Scissors. If Shinobu wins, it's Castella Cake, if Mitsuri wins, it's Japanese Cheesecake they'll cook. Shinobu won, of course. She's been a master at the game ever since she got introduced to it.
“Aw..you could've gone easy on me, Shinobu-chan..” Mitsuri sighed out, defeated from losing to her wife in a game of rock, papers, scissors.
Shinobu chuckled, finding amusement in Mitsuri's cute expression, she put a reassuring hand on Mitsuri's shoulder. “You'll beat me one day, I promise.” Shinobu smiled softly.
Mitsuri turned a bit red from her wife's words. She stood up straight. “L-let’s just start cooking..” Shinobu smiled. A hint of adoration evident in her eyes and behind her smile.

Both quickly started cooking, Shinobu got the ingredients and the needed utensils while Mitsuri did the baking.
Mitsuri preheated the oven to 320F° and got a loaf pan, she sprayed it with cooking spray.
“I’ll sift the flour for you, darling.” Mitsuri could've sworn she was turning red from Shinobu's pet names.
Shinobu got a bowl and started to sift the flour into it, setting it aside. She turned to look at Mitsuri, a smile plastered on her face, “Do you want to make the batter, Kanroji?”
Mitsuri shakes her head, “You should do it, Shinobu-chan!” Mitsuri said with a smile, insisting her wife make the batter.
“If that's what you want.” Shinobu reached out and got a large bowl and some eggs. She cracked the eggs before getting the hand mixer and plugging it in the outlet on the wall next to her. She mixed the eggs before adding sugar, mixing the both with the hand mixer which’s speed was turned to high. She did for 4-5 minutes, meanwhile, Mitsuri was admiring her wife making the batter. She can't help but think if her wife was a former model, or something.
Shinobu mixed the batter until it was pale yellow and the texture thickened. She turned down the speed to 3 and added the honey, water, and salt. Mixing all together in an elegant way. The sun rays illuminated her figure, highlighting her features.
Shinobu placed the bowl aside and turned to Mitsuri with a soft smile. “Your turn, dear.”
Mitsuri walked forward and took the silted flour. Adding one third of it to the batter carefully. Some flour got into her nose and she sneezed, the flour floating everywhere. “Ah! I'm so sorry, Shinobu-chan! My nose was itchy and–”
“No, no it's fine.” Shinobu smiled despite her face being covered with flour, she reached out and put a comforting hand on Mitsuri's cheek. Rubbing her thumb over Mitsuri's slightly flour covered face. It was an affectionate gesture, really. It showed so much love that Shinobu had for Mitsuri. An overwhelming amount of love.
Mitsuri's heart clenched from this heartwarming gesture. She can usually get teary from affectionate gestures, especially when they're coming from her beloved wife. Her nose gets runny a bit. She sniffles.
“Shinobu-chan..sniff you're making me sniff cry..” She wasn't crying because she was sad, no, she was crying tears of joy because she knew how much Shinobu loved her. Shinobu loved her more than no one else. She knew Shinobu was hers and she was Shinobu's. They loved each other deeply, if they didn't, they couldn't have come to this moment.
“Dear..stop crying..” Shinobu said comfortingly, wiping Mitsuri's tears with her thumb, though Mitsuri still continued crying a bit. Shinobu stood on her tippy-toes and kissed Mitsuri's tears away, making Mitsuri turn red a bit more than she usually does.
“Are you feeling better?” Shinobu asked calmly,
“Y-Yeah but..y-you're so loving, Shinobu-chan..it makes me cry tears of joy..” Mitsuri said after wiping her tears away as she looked down at her wife.
“That's for you only.” Shinobu smiled softly, still caressing Mitsuri's cheek with her thumb. Wiping her tears away.
(Not doing the process of the cooking cz I am LOSING ideas.)

Both got forks and sliced the Castella Cake. They stabbed the fluffy pastry and placed it in their mouths.
Mitsuri's eyes squeezed shut in delight as she squealed happily “Kya!! They're so yummy, Shinobu-chan! We did such a great job!” Mitsuri exclaimed, feeling so joyful from their job of baking the pastry.
Shinobu hummed in delight as she tasted the pastry’s flavors on her tongue. “Yes, we did quite the job.” Shinobu smiled softly, a smile you'll see everywhere, but this time it was genuine. A real smile.
Shinobu took a slice of the cake and forked with her fork, holding the piece of cake infront of Mitsuri's mouth making her a tad bit flustered. “Say ah, Kanroji.” Shinobu teased Mitsuri with a smile.
Mitsuri’s cheeks flushed before opening her mouth, still blushing at the fact her wife is feeding her cake. Shinobu moved a strand of her raven colored hair behind her ear as she continued feeding Mitsuri the cake, occasionally giggling softly at the flusteredness of her wife.
Soon, they finished eating the cake, feeling full from the desert they just ate. Shinobu looked over to her wife and saw a little piece of the cake on the corner of her mouth.
“Mitsuri, dear, you have some food on your face.” Shinobu pointed the corner of her mouth to help Mitsuri find the smudged food. Mitsuri tried wiping it with her thumb but fairly missed it. Shinobu tapped the corner of her mouth to help Mitsuri find it once again and Mitsuri missed again.
Shinobu chuckled and walked over to Mitsuri, making her a bit flushed at the action. Shinobu stood on her tippy-toes and kissed where the leftover food was, kissing it away from her beautiful wife's face.
Mitsuri blushed furiously and lifted a finger to touch where Shinobu had just kissed her. “Shinobu-chan, w-why did you– did you just–” Mitsuri stumbled over her words since she was so flustered and taken aback from the action to the point she can't form a single coherent sentence.
“Mitsu, calm down..we’re married, alright? So you better get used to me kissing you everywhere.” Shinobu got back to her normal feet position and smiled. She found her wife cute.
“D-Did you do that to try and kiss me..?” Mitsuri mumbled, wondering the true intentions behind what Shinobu just did.
“Yes,” Shinobu confirmed, her confirmation making Mitsuri even more flustered. “Do you want to try a real kiss?” Shinobu asked in amusement and genuine curiosity. She did want to kiss her wife, she just needed Mitsu’s consent to do so.
That was the last thing Shinobu said before Mitsuri turned to a sputtering, flustered mess.
Shinobu chuckled softly in adoration from her wife's expression. She stood on her tippy-toes and cupped Mitsuri's face before leaning in for a passionate kiss.
They held that kiss for a while before pulling away, both chuckling softly.
