Work Text:
‘Everything has to be perfect……..don’t you understand perfect!....’ Khun screeched at the poor staff members who were trying to follow the eldest Theerapanyakul’s wild and often contradictory hand movements. ‘….I already have to clean up the mess the little shit has made, and now it comes out that he has done THIS.. it was supposed to just be a happy and quiet time for me to meet my two new nephews!’
The staff in the room sensibly said nothing, just exchanged gazes as they worked, all thinking exactly the same thing.
With Tankhun around, nothing was ever quiet!
A few moments later Kinn arrived in the large dining room, almost blinded by the sheer amount of baubles, tinsel and other brightly coloured things he didn’t even recognise. Traditionally Chay and Porsche were in charge of the decorating around Christmas and the two brothers always managed to produce something that fit in with the grandeur of the house, at least in the public areas, while still keeping the feel of warmth and family. This year though, Phayu and Prapai had finally caved into Khun’s nagging, and were bringing their boyfriends over on Christmas day. Which meant that Khun had begun nagging both himself and Porsche, until they had agreed to let Khun decorate the dining room where the meal would take place. Looking around now though…….that had been a seriously bad idea!
‘KIIINNN!’ Khun wailed from the middle of the chaotic room, lowering his arms, and running over, ignoring the crash from behind him which made Kinn cringe.
‘What’s wrong?’ Kinn asked, despite everything in body screaming at him not to ask the question.
‘What are we going to do about the little brat? This is the day I finally convinced my nephews to introduce my nephew in laws to me……..and instead here I am worrying about the marriage of our youngest brother and his slutty side piece. I am sure that person is some kind of twink who came onto him. Kim wouldn’t have strayed otherwise……..but he is still married! You are the head of the family……..kick some sense into him!’
Kinn sighed……
Ahhh Khun had added 2+2 together and made 14532 again, which unfortunately for Kim, would mean that this Christmas wouldn’t be much fun.
It was always amazing that everyone remembered he was the head of the family when they wanted something and yet conveniently forgot the fact when it became inconvenient!
‘Khun….’ Kinn tried, already knowing it would be pointless, but feeling like he owed it to his younger brother anyway. ‘…….Kim doesn’t have a ‘side piece’, he has never cheated on Chay!’
Khun just looked at Kinn with a pitying gaze, as if the later had gone stupid or something.
‘Kinn!’ Khun said, his voice almost like he was talking to a child, or an idiot…….either way Kinn didn’t like the tone. ‘……I know you liked playing the field, sowing your oats, or whatever you call it, when you were free to do so……but you have done the proper thing by Porsche since getting married and kept your dick in your pants where it belongs. All the evidence points to our littlest brother being unfaithful, and adulterer, giving in to his passions if you will……and I for one will not allow that to go unpunished, so if you won’t help me, I will do it myself.’
With a loud huff, Khun stalked off……….or as close to a stalk as you could do when you were dressed like a walking Christmas tree……..and Kinn was stood there dumbfounded.
Khun was really pissed off about Kim’s perceived transgression…..
…..and as for the ‘evidence’, Kinn had no idea what his elder brother was talking about.
There was no evidence because there had been no crime. Kinn knew Kim better than anyone else and his younger brother was simply in capable of cheating on his husband.
Kinn sighed to himself.
Ohh today would be fun!
Kim was still upstairs in his rooms with Chay as the discussion was taking place between his two brothers. He already knew about Khun’s outlandish thoughts and allowed his brother’s fantasies. Khun often believed odd things, after all the man practically lived in his TV shows, even decades after the passing of their father and uncle. Khun was better than he had been, but was still never able to fully separate the facts from fiction. Also, once Khun had gotten something inside his head it was almost impossible to remove it, so Kim never really bothered trying.
As for the whole ‘cheating’ thing, no one else believed it………certainly not anyone important, such as Kinn, Porsche, or his cousins. When he found out about it, Chay had simply burst out laughing, only calming down about half an hour later when he complained that his lungs hurt. This of course hadn’t stopped Chay demanding that Kim atone for his ‘indiscretion’ by spending the whole of the morning in bed together….not that this kind of ‘punishment’ had bothered Kim in the slightest.
There was still the small problem of the fact that Khun had come up with the outlandish idea at the worst possible moment. Today was the day when the family was finally going to meet Rain and Sky for the first time, and Phayu and Pai were nervous enough about introducing their new partners to their chaotic family, without Khun being………...well Khun!
The problem would be easy enough to solve. All Kim had to do was tell Khun what he wanted to hear…….that he had in fact had an affair while on a mission a few years ago, and that he had already atoned and got the forgiveness of Chay. Or rather the problem would be EASIER to solve, because although it would allow today to go over relatively easily……...certainly without either of the partners of their nephews running for the exits five minutes after entering thanks to Khun’s tantrums……..it would however put Kim in the firing line for Khun’s temper until he either forgot or moved on to something else.
‘What are you thinking?’ Chay asked, wrapping his arms around Kim’s waist.
They were both wearing fitted dark fitted trousers and brightly coloured shirts, red in Chay’s case and yellow in Kim’s, as it was a celebratory day and Chay and Porsche had long ago banned dark colours. Kim sighed, patting Chay’s hands with his own.
‘I can’t ruin today for the boys…….so I will do what I need to do in order to shut Khun up’ He spoke, his voice firm.
‘You do know that if you say you cheated on me……...you will have a lot of ‘making it up to me’ to do in future.’ Chay joked, playing with Kim’s belt as if he was going to unclip it.
Kim’s hand tightened, not allowing Chay’s own to move…...but his eyes darkened and his voice came out in that deep timbre which only occurred when Kim was aroused.
‘What did I ever do to deserve you……..you never doubt me’
‘You never give me any reason to doubt you!’ Chay said, his voice holding no room for doubt.
With that Kim turned in his husbands embrace, lifting his hands to Chay’s head and slotting their mouths together as they had done many hundreds of times before over the years. The kiss soon became heated, deepening and the times between breathes much less infrequent. Soon one of Kim’s hands ventured downwards, over the back of the silk shirt, until it was squeezing Chay’s ass through his trousers. Chay’s hands had equally roamed on their own, one of which had undone a few of the buttons of Kim’s shirt and was freely exploring the skin of the muscled chest beneath.
‘Kim…..we can’t…...we will be late’ Chay managed to gasp out as the too pulled apart for breath.
Kim just smirk in that way which always made him look like a hungry wolf, and like he wanted to devour Chay whole.
‘Then I guess we are going to be late!’ Came Kim’s answer as he backed them both towards the bed.
The journey down to the compound had been stilted, bordering on uncomfortable for all men. They had decided they would all drive down together in Phayu’s car for two main reasons. One was that they would all arrive together and therefore no one would bare the brunt of meeting the family alone, and also there would be a great reason for them all to escape together. The other was that it was much easier to prepare their partners in the openness of a car than through crash helmets on bikes.
All the drive Phayu and Pai had been bombarding Rain and Sky with things to expect, not to expect, to do and not to do, to say and not to say…….until Rain had looked like he physically take anymore on board and Sky had just told them both to shut up or he was getting out the car and taking a taxi home! Both Phayu and Pai, although quiet after that ultimatum, and hearing Rain and Sky pick up some silly conversation in the back of the car, were still sharing looks of complete nerves which neither man was used to.
It was in this state that the car pulled up outside the compound, with both Phayu and Pai expecting to be barely able to turn off the engine before their uncle Khun descended on them like a human hurricane. When they had time to both get out the car, get Rain and Sky out the car…….and pass the keys to the doorman to park….all without any drama befalling them. Both young men started feeling decidedly edgy.
‘Phi, is something wrong?’ Rain asked, sounding nervous at seeing how tense Phayu had suddenly become. ‘...I thought you liked coming home!’
Phayu tried to smile reassuringly at his partner and Sky, knowing that they had both suffered trauma in the last year and him tensing up in front of his own home would lead them to take their thoughts down the wrong paths.
‘Nothing is wrong baby, it’s just this place is not normally this……’
‘Quiet!’ Pai interrupted. ‘Yeah…..I am a little worried about that too.’
While he was speaking Pai reached out, pulling Sky closer to him as if he wanted his boyfriend where he could see him.
‘Quiet is good though right?’ Sky asked, clearly as confused as Rain.
‘Not with this family it’s not!’ Pai responded with a sigh.
Rain and Sky just looked at each other, clearly their confusion and unease growing, not sure what to make of such a family, or the fact their partners seemed unsure about even walking into their own home. Phayu and Pai exchanged glances, knowing that standing out here wasn’t going to enable them to figure out what was going on inside and just make their partners more scared about actually entering. Almost simultaneously grabbing the hands of their respective partners they stepped forward, walking both through the grand entrance and past the silent bowing doorman.
Inside it was just as quiet as outside, the only people who seemed to be milling about were staff or bodyguards. It was also as if everyone in the family had completely forgotten about their arrival, something they both knew was impossible as both of their Papa’s had been on the phone just minutes before their departure to make sure they were on time. Just as Pai got his phone out of his pocket to see what type of accident or disaster had befallen everyone, a high pitched squeal boomed through the entrance foyer.
‘I KNEW IT…….I KNEW THAT BRAT WAS NO GOOD…….IF LITTLE CHAY DIDN’T LIKE THAT THING SO MUCH I WOULD WOULD CUT HIS NO GOOD DICK OF AND SHOVE IT DOWN HIS THROAT……..WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT HE HAS TURNED OUT TO BE……’
There were noises of heavy steps and slamming doors, all at a volume signalling a significant temper was being displayed. After the first round of slamming and shouting there was a few seconds of quiet before the same voice, filled with venom, shouted again.
‘AND KILL THAT LITTLE TWINK!’
Phayu and Pai just shared confused looks, before glancing at their partners. Rain had his eyes shut and his hands over his ears which Phayu gently removed.
‘Are you OK baby?’ he asked softly.
‘Who has a voice like that?’ Rain asked, seemingly astonished.
Phayu smiled.
‘That would be my uncle Khun…….but even his voice is normally not quite that high…..it seems he is upset about something.’
Rain nodded, but Sky, being the more observant of the two spoke up.
‘He talked about killing someone.’
Pai opened his mouth to replay, when a response came from the top of the staircase.
‘An unfortunate turn of phrase on his part. Please accept our apologies for not greeting you when you arrived, but as I am sure you could hear, we had a few issues to deal with first.’
Porsche and Pete walked down the stairs to meet their sons, bright smiles on their faces and open arms. Phayu and Pai hugged their Papa’s happily for a short while before introducing them to their partners.
‘Papa, this is Rain, my love……...Rain, this is Pete, my Papa!’
Pete smiled, his eyes filled with joy at finally meeting the boy who owned his sons heart.
‘I am really happy to see you Rain, and I know Phayu’s father will be too.’
Rain smiled, and even squawked a little as Pete pulled him into an unexpected hug. In the meantime Pai was introducing Sky to Porsche.
‘Papa this is Sky, the one who has finally made me want to settle down, Sky this is my Papa Porsche.
Sky bowed respectfully but was soon swept up into the arms of Porsche, with Pai just shrugging his shoulders as if to say ‘get used to it’. After the introductions had taken place Porsche wound one arm round Sky and Rain and began herding them out of the foyer, leaving Phayu and Pai to follow along with Pete.
‘So who pissed Uncle Khun off so much he sounded like a distressed harpy?’ Phayu asked.
‘Doesn’t he always sound like a distressed harpy!’ Pai interrupted before Pete could speak, only to get a smack on the arm from his cousin.
Pete rolled his eyes, used to the back and forth between the two young men by now, but determined to speak before they got the rest of the family.
‘You two owe your uncle Kim a HUGE thankyou!’ He said seriously. When both sets of eyes swivelled to him with focus, Pete continued. ‘Do you both remember a few years ago when Kim went on that undercover mission in the prison?’ Both Phayu and Pai nodded and Pete sighed. ‘Well…...it turned out that Kim made friends with a young inmate while he was there, and even gave the kid lessons on how to fight. I guess it never seemed important enough to bother telling us about when the mission ended, but recently the kid has been throwing Kim’s name around in the underworld to protect himself. Khun has already decided that naturally Kim and the kid had more than a normal teacher and student relationship in there.’
Phayu’s jaw nearly hit the ground as Pai blurted.
‘That’s insane…….Uncle Kim would never cheat on Uncle Chay!’
‘We all know that…..and that’s where you owe him a huge thank you. Kim knew that Khun would never let this go, and that your boys would get dragged in, so he told Khun it was true and that Chay had already forgiven him for it.’
`This time is was Pai’s turn to do an impression of a fish as Phayu blurted out.
‘That was Uncle Kim that Uncle Khun was shouting about earlier?’
‘Yup!’ Pete said, sounding tired. ‘Now you are both caught up, lets go find your boys before Vegas and Kinn suffocate them!’
The three were only a few minutes behind Porsche, Rain and Sky in reaching the small sitting room they had decided to use for the introductions and the wait before dinner was served. By the time they arrived though, it seemed like things hadn’t gone to plan. As soon as the three entered, Rain ran to hide behind Phayu and Sky looked like he would rather be anywhere else. Porsche was stood in the middle of the room, with Chay by his side, and Vegas, Kinn and Kim where all looking at the ground as if they were naughty children found with their hands in the cookie jar.
‘What happened?’ Pete asked, stepping up beside Porsche and leaving Phayu and Pai to soothe their boys for now.
‘They were talking business.’ Porsche said, the tone of his voice leaving no doubt as to which ‘business’ he was referring to.
‘And both Kim and Vegas had their toys with them!’ Chay said grumpily.
Kim and Vegas looked up as Chay spoke, only to lower their heads again at the looks of Pete and Chay.
‘Vegas! Seriously!’ Pete asked, his voice rising. ‘For one day, couldn’t you two stop comparing those things?’
It was well known in the family that Vegas and Kim had a fairly unhealthy obsession with besting each other, and lately that had become a competition of ‘who could have the sharpest knife!’ Something which was beginning to send both Pete and Chay up the wall with their husbands.
‘I’m sorry Babe……...but come sit down and have a drink yeah……...it’s Christmas after all!’ Vegas responded, giving Pete his best smile.
Pete rolled his eyes but walked over and deposited himself on his husbands knee, pulling the glass of whiskey out Vegas’s hand in the process.
‘Phi, your Papa is kinda scary!’ Rain whispered into Phayu’s shoulder.
‘He can be, yeah!’ Phayu agreed, patting his partners head. ‘Come on lets go sit down.’
By the time both Pai and Phayu had gotten their partners seated, relaxed enough to enjoy a drink, and finally looking like their heartbeats had gone back to normal……..Chay had also resumed his seat on Kim’s knee. Conversation started a little stilted but soon moved freely, with all the older men offering up stories about either Phayu’s or Pai’s childhoods which made Sky and Rain giggle and removed any tension in the air.
That was until…….
‘Where are my nephew in laws?’ ……...came the loud, shrill, voice just seconds before the door banged open so hard that both Sky and Rain jumped clear out of their seats. Luckily Rain had put his glass down moments before, but Sky was not so lucky and Pai was the recipient of the red wine splashing all over his pale grey trousers. Sky looked appalled at what had happened and actually missed the human Christmas tree, fully equipped with flashing bauble earrings, which barged its way through the door. Rain was not so lucky, automatically hiding half behind Phayu once again at the mad man who had just descended on them. ‘…..you can’t keep my new nephews from me…...they are….’ Khun paused, his eyes on Rain, still hiding mostly behind Phayu. ‘…...awwwww so cute. I want him!’ Khun cooed.
‘Right now you are scaring the shit out of him…...have you never heard of knocking!’ Vegas huffed.
‘As if I need to knock in my own home’ Khun responded dismissively
‘You do when we have visitors.’ Kinn reminded his elder brother.
But Khun aleady wasn’t listening, he has focused on Sky, who was still fussing over the growing stain on Pai’s expensive trousers, despite the other trying to reassure him everything was fine.
‘Ohhh Pai, he is so cute tooo…..’ Khun cooed loudly before dropping to a stage whisper. ‘……..just make sure you keep him away from Kim…..your youngest Uncle seems to have a thing for young twinks lately!’
Kim groaned while Chay simply tried not to laugh.
Sky had gone red, although from humiliation or anger from being called a ‘twink’ was unknown…….either way, Pai cuddled him closer.
Rain was looking around completely confused while Phayu tried to hide him even further from Khun’s gaze.
Vegas seemed to be finding it funny that for once he wasn’t at the receiving end of his cousin’s barbed tongue, why Pete just glared at him.
Kinn and Porsche were watching everyone with a growing look of concern.
And Khun simply stood in the centre of the room looking happy with himself.
‘We’ll bare that in mind uncle Khun’ Phayu managed to choke out, after a long moment of silence.
‘Good boy…..you do that, because yours is cute too!’ Khun said honestly.
As if the tension had gotten too much all of a sudden, Kim burst out laughing, his body shaking so much Chay almost fell off his lap. Vegas wasn’t far behind…….both men’s laughter filling the room in mere seconds. Khun’s head whipped around, focusing on his brother and cousin.
‘And why are you two laughing…….just because I want to keep those innocent cuties away from the likes of you!’ He grumbled.
‘I remember when you thought I was innocent too……’ Pete spoke up. ‘…...Porsche as well, and that Chay was a cutie.’
Khun huffed.
‘Its not my fault that I couldn’t save you from the seductive dark powers of my family.’
Vegas and Kim only laughed harder, with this time Kinn joining in.
‘Seductive dark powers?’ Sky said to Pai, as if he was unsure what he was hearing.
‘Yeah, it’s what makes you unable to resist me!’ Pai grinned, wincing as Sky smacked him on the arm.
‘Ohh I can resist you plenty if I want to’ Sky grinned.
‘Do you have dark powers to Phi?’ Rain asked Phayu.
‘Yeah….I can show you later’ Phayu responded in that dark tone that made Rain wriggle on his lap.
‘You are all hopeless…...I don’t want any of you anymore!’ Khun declared, storming out the room in a whirlwind of tinsel.
No sooner had the door closed than the whole room erupted in laughter, some giggles and some complete hysterics, but everyone was laughing to some degree. It was like this that a servant found the family about 10 minutes later when they came to announce dinner was ready. Phayu and Pai managed to get their still giggling partners to follow the family through into the small dining room which which had been decorated like a scene out of fantasy. There was a tree, elves, nutcrackers and all kinds of Christmas decorations covering the walls and floors. Rain and Sky, who had never seen such a thing before, stood transfixed at the doorway for a moment, before they got ushered inside and fitted with a silly hat like the rest of the family. At first Sky seemed to scowl at wearing such a thing, but upon seeing both Pai and Phayu wearing them as well, found it much more fun to tease Pai about wearing antlers instead.
The meal went well, with Khun declaring that he was too upset to join them, and laughter and conversation flowed. Eventually though it was time for the four young men to return home and they stood at the main entrance surrounded by family. Kim and Chay were the first to say goodbye…...hugging Rain and Sky just as hard as Phayu and Pai, and welcoming them to the chaos they called home. Vegas and Kinn stepped forwards to wish their sons a safe drive home and telling them not to wait so long before bringing their partners back to visit. Porsche and Pete nearly had to be physically removed from their sons by their own partners in order to allow the boys to leave. All in all the close family feeling was much different from their arrival hours earlier.
Just as the 4 boys were about to leave though……..Khun emerged at the top of the stairs, still dressed as over the top as before, only he had now changed into Santa. Khun nearly tripped a few times, obviously not able to see clearly over the huge white beard, as he descended the stairs, Arm and Pol following him dressed all in green and carrying huge sacks.
‘Santa’ slowly made his way over to the rest, the effect ruined slightly by all the tripping Khun kept doing from the weight of the padded red outfit, and walked stright over to Rain and Sky…..completely ignoring Phayu and Pai.
‘You two are soo cute, I don’t know what my good for nothing nephews have done to deserve you, but if they ever do anything to upset you…...come tell me and I will happily kick their asses for you. For now though, I can’t let you go empty handed, so I bought you a few presents. I hope you like them.’
Pai and Phayu were quick to take the sacks off their partners when it became obvious that the things almost dwarfed them, but not before Sky used the giant sack to mouth ‘this is a few’ sarcastically towards Pai and making both cousins laugh. Khun took that as his presents being delightfully accepted and stood back, clapping his hands like a pleased child, before ushering the 4 out the door and towards the car. It took a few minutes with Phayu and Pai juggling car keys, sacks and partners, but they eventually managed to get everyone inside and seat-belted, before pulling away to the very odd view of ‘Santa’ jumping up and down waving in the rear view mirror.
‘Well that went better than I thought.’ Pai said, letting out a long breath.
Phayu laughed.
‘Yeah.’
‘When you said your Uncle was a bit weird, I didn’t think you meant like THAT weird.’ Sky responded.
‘That was actually a good day.’ Phayu said.
‘Do you think they liked us?’ Rain piped up.
‘They loved you both…….don’t worry.’ Phayu reassured him.
Rain nodded and fell silent, but after a moment Sky spoke up.
‘Well at least now some things make more sense.’
‘Like what?’ Pai asked, ignoring Phayu’s mad shaking of the head.
‘Like why you think no means yes’ Sky grinned.
Rain let out an inelegant snort.
‘Phi does that too, it must be a family thing’
‘Hey don’t drag me into this’
‘Drive the car Yu, I will deal with them.’
‘Good luck trying’
Soon the conversation had degenerated into giggles, which lasted even as the sun began to set on another chaotic family day.
