Chapter Text
He was strumming the guitar string, making an acoustic sound, despite being an electric one, it will sound different once it was plugged in. He just did it to find some kind of inspiration, the see how the music note he wrote on the paper will sound on the actual instrument.
"Kay, sound great. Now let's see plugged on".
He said as he puggled the guitar on, playing the same notes but with those making a different sound. He liked the harmony he is making between the guitar and his foot taps, he liked the key he chose, the hook...basically the whole melody of his new song. He just need to think of the lyrics for this song, maybe later but not now. Right now he needed to finish the last verse and the bridge. He didn't want to stop, it was perfect, he was creating a masterpiece, he was making one with the best punk rock composition.
Then a knock stop him in his track of creation.
"Kuwata! Are you in there" A feminine voice can be heard from the other side of the door. Leon growl as he put back his guitar on its support. Just as he found the greatest tune, someone as to interrupted him. He walked to the door and opened it revealing Sayaka standing right and in a matter of second, his once annoyed expression changed to a more relax one, well he thought it was relaxed expression but it was more of a pretended one.
"Yeah, what to you need Maizono" Leon asked trying to not sound awkward. "I just wanted to tell you that the school meeting is starting and every students must be there..." Sayaka said before being interrupted by Leon groan.
"Yeah no, I'm not coming" He quickly responded while putting an hand thought his hair. The respond kind of surprised Sayaka "Are you sure? This meeting is here to explain how the talent exam is gonna happen."
"Then I don't need to go if this is just for that" Kuwata said as he was about to close the door but Sayaka stopped him.
"But don't you want to be informed, to be prepare for your future" Sayaka insisted with only seems to annoyed Leon even more. "You are starting to sound like Ishimaru. Plus I already told you, I'm not going to continued my life in baseball".
"Okay, I'm not going to bother you any longer" Sayaka said "I'm just gonna warn you that being a musician isn't as easy as you tought, you must practice everyday, being able to not crack under the pressure..." Leon continued with an hint of boredom in his voice "...and not forget what you have to play on stage." Leon continued alone "I know that, I'm not that unfamiliar with all those things" he said before he closed the door on her.
He picked up his guitar again and strumming the guitar string again trying to find his inspiration back but its was no succes. He decided to took his guitar and walk up to the rooftop of the hope peak academy. He knew he wasn't allowed and he could get in trouble if he get caught here. But to be honest, he didn't care that much, he just need to be here to find the inspiration again.
He started strumming the strings, the sound making a perfect moment as the wind blown into his hair. God he wish it was an actual concert. He just need more special effects, more fans, members of his future groupe. For now he just had the natural wind, and the natural red light and...
Wait... red light ?
Leon opened his eyes and was surprise to see a flooting red crystal and shine of a red light. He started rubbing his eyes to see he is actually hallucinating, he wasn't, the crystal was still there. He then decided to touch it to be really sure it was real. But as manage to grab it, he lose his balance from the edge he was standing on and fall of the roof.
Leon scream out of terror, the simple tought of dying at a young age because he was so reckless terrified him as he get closer to the ground.
But then something happen. The crystal started to glow a bright red light that envelopped him right before he touch the ground and for some reason, he landed softly on grass.
When he opened his eyes, he was blinded by the sun light, but it was a short time before his vision got adjusted, he sit up, looked at himself and sigh at the fact that he was still alive. But when he looked around, he didn't reconized this place, in fact it wasn't place that looked normal to him. Like when did Tokyo have glowing statues, or a snowing mountain or a village that seems to be from middle age Germany.
Leon get up and tried to find some answer to his predicament, was he dreaming, at least he feels like it. He get closer to the edge of the cliff he was on and started looking down for any sign of human. And that sign of life, he found it... or most likely, him.
Leon saw a tall man, with tan skin, and long navy-blue hair, he is wearing pretty much fashionable clothes that a thief would wear, with an half- cape of fur, as well as an earing on the left ear and some kind of ice blue orb attached at his waist.
Leon who was more than happy to see an other human tried to get the man's attention.
"Hey over there, I need your help !" But his excitement caused him to fall from the cliff but his fall was stopped by a tree, however, his weight broke the branch that saved him as an other branch ripped the right sleeves of his jacket off as Leon continued to roll down and stopped to the man's feets.
"Woah, that was pretty impressive landing for a fall this high" The man teased as Leon got up annoyed by that. He took a better look at the man's face, his left eyes was a periwinkle color with a weirdly shaped pupil and he was wearing a black eyepatch on the other eye. "You were saying that you need help before you fall, Am I right?"
"Yes ! I need help to get back home" Leon said exaspered "One minutes I was on the rooftop of my school, the other I find myself whatever this place is " Leon was clearly stressed by the situation and it wasn't helping that his arm was hurting.
"Calm down, calm down, something tell me you aren't from Teyvat" The man said which seems to fustrated Leon " THATS WHAT I'M TRYING TO TELL YOUuuu... Where did you say I wasn't from ?"
That one question was followed by a whole explanation from the person on the world they were in. The magic called vision, the current region they were and a brief history of this place. That was so followed by Leon explaining where he came from, how he came here and ask how to get home.
"Hum, your situation is pretty similar to what happened to someone else a few weeks ago" The guy said while rubbing his chin which made Leon hopefull.
"Really and what happened ?! How did this person manage to go home ?"
"I don't really know. You see that girl is in seach for her brother and is right now out of the region. I don't exactly know where she is actually and how she is going to do get back to her home".
"Damn it" Leon in defeat as he sat down on a rock near by, thats for sure he won't got back home anytime soon. He won't see any of his friends again, his dreams of music and popularity are now crushed and his right arm was in pain. Maybe things would have turn out differently if he was actually present to the meeting.
"I know we just meet and that you are probably not in the mood right now. But would like a trip to the bar, just to cheer you up and discuss options for your stay ?" The man asked while putting his hand on Leon shoulder.
Leon look up to him his face once showing despair, now show a small glimmer of hope, maybe he will be back home soon after all, or if not, well he would simply tried to adapt in this place everyone called Mondstadt and maybe even tried to do music here.
"I would like to" Leon get up from the rock "Thank you sir...?" Leon tried to guess the guy's name before that one answer for him.
"Kaeya" He respond "And what about you ?
"Leon, Leon kuwata" Leon responded before shaking Kaeya's hand with the wrong arm which made him wincing.
"I think I should take you see a doctor before. That fall seems to have caused some damage" Kaeya said and Leon quickly agreed in pain while holding his arm.
And so they started to walk to Mondstadt as Kaeya reasurred Leon by bragging about having the best doctors in all of Teyvat as well as joking with him. This kind of annoyed Leon again for a bit.
But it's good to meet someone in a new place
