Work Text:

The dark inky sky is slightly illuminated by the city's lights. A yellowish tint colors everything. The strange world is weird and foreign from those on the outside. But to the people inside of the alternate world, they have no choice but to call it home. Some beg to find a way out of Inkwell while others have accepted their fate. Among the ones who accepted, is Hope.

The young lady shifts her weight on her feet as the elevator goes down. Behind her is a wagon with a little ink demon sitting in it. Along with Bendy is a bunch of cans of bacon soup. He looks around eagerly. Eventually the elevator dings as it stops. The doors open to a hallway.

Floor boards creak under Hope's weight. The single light bulbs hangover head. They occasionally flicker. She pushes the door at the end of the dark hallway open. Stepping through opens up to a larger room. The room is filled with wooden boxes and shelves. The girl navigates through the maze to find Henry at one of the walls. She parks the wagon and takes a can from the wagon. Bendy hops out and stands next to Hope.

Henry eventually turns and smiles, "Hey you two. How was the expedition?" He asked. Hope nods, handing him the can. He gives her a tired smile, though Hope understands that everyone's getting tired of just soup everyday. Hope hasn't found another source of substance. Henry notices her troubled expression, giving her a tired smile. The older man reaches over and pats her head. "You're doing good, kid. You both are."

"How are the others doing? Are they still not… talking to you much?" Hope asked, a bit quietly. Henry hums to himself as his expression became troubled once more. "It's a bit complicated at the moment. Tom and Allison are still the only ones who aren't hostile. Well… Tom still is on occasion." Henry admits, staring at the ground.

Hope gives Henry a few more cams from the wagon. "Me and Bendy are gonna go check on the others. We'll be back soon. It shouldn't take too terribly long." Hope said, picking up Bendy giving him a piggyback ride. Henry nods as the two leave.

Bendy stretches a little as Hope carries him, "Alright doll, what's on the agenda today?"

The girl glances up at him and smiles, adjusting herself. "Well, we're gonna go see how the procedures are doing. I hope it's working…" Hope said hesitantly in a quiet unsure way. Bendy notices and gives her a soft smile. "Don't sweat it, Hope… You're doing everything you can."

"I hope you're right…" She replied. Hope looks forward with a hardened expression. She was determined to make this work. It just had to.

The two head back to the elevator. Floorboards continued to creak under their weight. The awkward silence was filled with the elevator's gears and cranking. After what felt like forever, the elevator finally stops. The doors open up to a short hallway. Pushing it open, Hope and Bendy step into a larger room.

This room was long and had several medical supplies on shelves. At the far end was another door. Medical beds lined up on one side of the room. So far only two people were on the beds; Sammy Lawrence and Alice. The two had iv bags with golden ink in it. It was going down a tube and into their wrists. Veins of gold crept up on their arms. Sammy on his left while Alice on her right.

A few people were in the middle of the room, watching them. Allison, Tom, Porter, Heidi, and Tor. Tor is a lost one that Hope and Bendy found and befriended. He wore a ragged scarf around his neck and is capable of golden ink abilities.

Ever since Wilson's defeat and Audrey left to go back to the real world, Hope and Henry have tried to find a way to help the others. Perhaps the golden ink would balance out the corrupted ink (the black ink) in their bodies. Perhaps they could have their old selves back. Maybe not physically but mentally.

Though the origin of the golden ink is still a mystery. Everyone here was united by a common enemy, so why not fight for each other?

Hope was snapped out of her thoughts when she felt Bendy squirm a little. She knew that Bendy was worried about what the others would think of the reformed ink demon that once terrorized everyone in the studio due to Joey Drew's treatment. Hope looks up at him and gives him a reassuring smile.

"It'll be ok. They're not here to hurt you. We're here to help each other out, ok?" She said, walking closer. Hope and Bendy reach the others. They turn and see them. Tom notices Bendy and growls slightly. Allison stops him with one of her arms. "The ink demon doesn't pose as a threat anymore." Allison reminds him.

Tom stands down but still keeps his eyes on Bendy. Hope looks at the others with determination. Allison approaches her and gives her a soft smile. "How are things going with Henry?"

"He's still trying to figure out the origin of golden ink. It's been slow but I refuse to give up. How are the procedures going? Have they…" Hope's voice trails off as she looks at Sammy and Alice. Allison shakes her head, "No. They haven't woken up yet. But they're stable." Allison confirms.

"That's good. Does that mean they'll wake up soon?" Hope asked, looking at the two. Allison nods, "I'll make sure to keep you updated."

"Thanks."

Hope and Bendy leave to go to Henry. The older man greets them.
