Layne has made many attempts to flirt with Alexander, all that have been horribly awkward, weird, and ultimately, not effective.
Layne over the course of a few days, waiting til the next film day, Layne has been practicing, and searching up "how to flirt" on wikiHow, which, actually was pretty helpful.
Layne bought a flower, just a simple rose, as he didn't know Alexanders favorite, but it'll do. He originally was just going to give it to him in person, but decided he was too scared to actually do that, and would end up having a heart attack if he did, so he opted for putting it near his place that he uses to get ready, with a little note.
Finally the film day arrived and Layne stuffed the rose into his bag, carefully. Although when he drove there he stayed in his car and ended up being 5 minutes late because he really was too nervous to even enter the building. Then remembered he has a job to do and quickly entered.
He looked around, making small talk with Daniella as he walked over to his spot and set his stuff down. Daniella left to go get ready, and Layne stared at the singular rose in his bag, with a little note attached to it.
He decided to give it to him later. God he felt like a schoolboy, with this stupid crush.
Layne went to his makeup artist and talked to him for a bit before sitting down and letting him get to work. He stayed silent, a bit out of character for him, but him seemingly giddy made up for that fact.
Aden, his makeup artist, automatically knew what was going on. Wasn't too hard to tell, he watches the cast sometimes and sees Layne very obviously staring at Alexander. He supports it.
Soon, the film day came to an end, and Layne still has yet to even approach Alexander. He was beating himself up internally over it. He had to now, he didn't even have to talk to him for this! It's so easy to place it and just leave.
But maybe he wanted to give it to him, face to face. So, he grabs the bag with the rose in it, and began walking towards Alexander. Although was stopped by an 11 year old child.
"Hey! Hae-in is looking for you."
"Oh, uh, tell her I'll be there in a minute."
"Don't you want to know why she needs you?"
"Well sure but--"
Layne watched Rune come up to Alexander. Well, there goes his chance to talk to him alone. It's alright, he'll just wait till she leaves.
"Alright." He sighed. "What does she want?"
"Well--" his nephew began to ramble, but he watched Rune and Alexander talk instead of paying attention to the kid in front of him. He watched Rune grab Alex's hand before --
Kissing him.
Aw no. He knew rune and Alexander were close but... Not like that. Layne felt a strong pain in his chest, before turning back to (name)
"Alright yeah let's go see Hae-in and darling."
He grabbed (name)'s arm and started walking, name yelped and Layne immediately felt bad, apologizing and letting go of his arm, to hold his hand instead.
They talked with the girls for a bit, discussing things before Layne let name leave with the two. He waved as they drove away.
Layne walked back to his car, watching rune and Alexander walk by, entering their car together. Goddamn he should have known.
He entered his car, waiting til Alexander and rune left before even starting up his car. Usually, Layne would play music and jam out as he drived, but this time he went home in silence.
He entered his home, dropping his keys somewhere before throwing his bag down before sitting behind it. Just staring at it for a moment.
"I can't believe I was trying to flirt with a taken man!
God I'm so... Stupid" he groaned, laying on the ground like a starfish.
