Where was she even going? Her feet just keep moving, trying to go faster than her thoughts. She needed to get away from her house, from Piltover, from Ambesa, from Maddie… Maddie, they were supposed to meet again tonight but she couldn’t stand another night in her company, she was sweet for sure and Caitlyn felt bad for the poor girl, but every night with her was another reminder of the absence of Vi. She wasn’t able to look at her in bed, eyes closed while kissing, always fantasizing she was the pink haired girl that appeared every night in her dreams, but it couldn’t be, she would taste sweeter. At the end she hated to look at Maddie’s face, god she hated her, but she hated herself even more, she had no right to be thinking of Vi, no after what she had done.
Wandering the streets, feeling lost, she was so tired, it had been months since Ambesa put that stupid cape on her shoulders, at the moment it felt right but now… Now she had just gotten herself onto something so much bigger, something she wasn’t even sure was the right thing, what would she do if she found Jinx? Shoot her like she had tried that last time? Would that be the right choice? She had been to the Lanes what felt like an eternity ago. I just wanted to help. How did it end up like this? Sometimes she found herself wishing to never find Jinx, time had washed away the loathing, killing her will only mean another loss for Vi. Caitlyn felt so stupid, she just wanted to look for her, but what would she say? She couldn’t just show up, she didn’t even know where she was and anyways Vi probably hated her, how could she not after that last time. Her stomach turned upside down, vomit coming up her throat but she managed to keep it down, it was always the same when she remembered it.
Caitlyn found herself next to the bathysphere to the Undercity, she didn’t remember walking that much. Without giving another thought she got into it, black pants and sweater, her hair up in a bun covered with the hood, a gun hidden in her boot, no one would recognise her and even if they did she didn’t care that much anymore.
Once down there the compressed air just woke her up from her state of semi consciousness. What the hell am I doing here? There's posters of my face everywhere and it’s not like I’m going to find her around the corner. How could she be so stupid? What was she thinking? She tried to cover her face as much as she could without looking too suspicious and turned back to the railway. But then something happened.
A glimpse of what looked like Vi’s eyes appeared in front of her. It was a poster, well half a poster, and ironically enough it was covering one of herself, she looked at the wall and saw Vi’s face all around. Caitlyn felt like her heart was gonna come out of her chest, it was definitely her, what was she doing in those posters.
“Tonight’s pitfight biggest star comes back to kick ass. Don’t miss the fantastic Vi! Drinks half the price if she loses”
Pit fight? Oh Vi. This time the vomit just came out of her mouth, her body bent on his stomach, one hand on the wall to not fall. Someone bumped into her. “Hey! Don’t stand in the middle of the street! Move! Are you stupid?”
I sure am. Caitlyn thought to herself while she took a few steps back. The words pit fight, biggest star and Vi, kept wondering in her mind. Oh Vi what are you doing? This is all my fault. What AM I doing? Her feet started moving towards the venue, she wasn’t sure what she was hoping to find there. It’s not like you’ve had a plan tonight at all, get yourself together, you are a Kiraman. She was going to the pitfight, her body was feeling funny, half excitement half terror, hoping to find Vi behind the bar, like her father did, on a table getting bets, anything but in the fight, god not the fight.
A river of people carried her inside the place, it was boiling, people screaming, drinking, sweating, she couldn’t even hear her thoughts let alone walk among the crowd, none would notice her, they were all too busy in their business. She slid between the mob, looking around, hoping to see a string of pink hair around, but everywhere she looked was blue, all Jinx fanatics. She got closer to the banister, the pit three meters below. She could feel the blood on her temple, pumping behind her eyes, her hands sweating, bile on her throat. “AND NOW THE MOMENT Y’ALL BEEN WAITING FOR!!!” The crowd went crazy “TONIGHT OUR MAIN STAR WILL BE FIGHTING WITH ANOTHER LEGEND, MAKE YOUR BETS NOW BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE! ENJOY THE FIGHT!”
Caitlyn felt her knees weaken as she saw a familiar figure coming out one of the tunnels of the pit, a bottle of alcohol in her hand, bandages covering her upper body, her arms, oil on her face as black as her hair. As changed as she was Caitlyn could never not recognize those tender eyes, that sweet face. Oh Vi. She managed to not puke again. Throwing the bottle away after she had finished it, Vi entered the pit screaming, she was so angry, out of herself, throwing her arms around as the crowd cheered for her.
The fight was obscene, Vi got punched a few times because she was moving a bit slow due to the alcohol, but the other one… Oh Caitlyn even felt bad for him, he hadn’t gotten a chance against Vi. At the beginning she felt sick, after so much time dreaming of her there she was, all black, drunk, getting hurt, Caitlyn couldn't stand looking at that horror show, but the more she kept looking at her the less she was able to keep her eyes off her body, the way she moved, the tattoo on her back half covered, her arms… God she had gotten bigger than before, she found herself daydreaming about her being down there fighting, she wouldn't even try, at the first punch she would lay down and let Vi get on top of her, feel her tights wrap around her waist, sweat all over them, even if that meant getting her face smashed. At one point she started cheering too, for a moment she forgot where she was, who she was, she only had eyes for her former pink haired girl. All her air left her lungs when Vi looked her way, for a glimpse her eyes met, did she recognize her? A fist landed on her face and Vi kept fighting. Of course she won the fight, how could she not.
Caitlyn wasn’t physically capable of keeping her eyes off Vi, it was like this magnetic energy drawing her, she was relieved the fight had ended but she felt sick at the thought of not seeing Vi anymore, so she followed her, no thoughts on her head her body moved by impulse. Suddenly she was out of the pit fight venue and she couldn’t see her anymore. No no no, please no, please just one more time.
There she was. Suddenly Caitlyn wished to have remained inside, her limbs went numb, her mouth dried, a dagger going through her heart. There was Vi indeed, but she wasn’t alone, she had two girls wrapped around her arms, two more following and another bottle of alcohol on her hands, they went into The Last Drop. How can I be so stupid?! What was I thinking? This whole thing has been stupid, of course she’s with other women, I AM. And she hates me, why would I expect anything else? But her feet once again moved faster than her mind and she found herself following them inside.
Okay Caitlyn, now what? She was feeling dizzy, the lights and the music were not helping, she could see Vi so clearly, surrounded by girls that took turns to sit on her lap, sharing booze, getting close to her, way too close for Caitlyn’s liking. But she stayed, she wanted to stay so bad, Vi was…She was… Oh god, not even all those years of education could have prepared her to describe how insane Vi looked, she was magnetic, all eyes on her, smiling at everyone, sharing jokes. She sat on a corner of the bar, a good spot to hide but to see everything at the same time. “Please one of the strongest shit you’ve got.” Caitlyn said, and asked for another one after she chugged down the first in one sip.
At her fifth glass she started to feel funny, her mind was clearer, her body felt lighter. She felt like a stalker, sitting down on the bar, everybody dancing around her, a few had approached her to get her out on the dancefloor, but she politely refused, the last thing she needed was for someone to recognize her. But she didn’t care for anyone, just for Vi, at whom she glanced timidly, scared to be discovered. You’re so stupid, like she's gonna take her eyes out of them, she thought, so she just stared at her, glass after glass. She could feel her body getting hotter, seeing Vi with all those girls was driving her crazy. “You should go, she’s not gonna turn you down, you are exactly her type.” Caitlyn jumped as she heard the barman scream those words at her.
That was exactly what she wanted, to go there and show everyone Vi was hers. God, jealousy was eating her from the insides, all those girls around HER girl, she felt sick. She is mine, mine, mine! She kept repeating herself, but then sudden waves of sadness filled her body, she had no right to think that, but still she couldn’t help it. After all those months all she wanted was to cross that room and get to where Vi was, she was picturing it all on her head, she would tell off the flies around her, “She doesn’t need any of you. She is mine, I’m the only one who can satisfy her”, she would sit on top of her, grab Vi’s head and kiss her, touch her, bite her… She wouldn’t even care about the people around, if they wanted to watch they could, that way they all would know who Vi belonged to, she was Caitlyn’s and no one else's. Just the thought of it made her feel even dizzier, wet.
As she was chugging down another glass (her seventh, eighth?) she took a detailed look, god she looked delicious. Vi was sitting on a couch, a few hours had passed but she didn’t even get up, everything she wanted was brought to her and that meant mostly alcohol. Her legs widespread, one of the almost always busy with women that would wrap her arms around her neck and whisper in her ear, to which Vi always replied with a little laugh and something Caitlyn couldn’t hear. The leather pants wrapped around her thighs were so tight, Caitlyn felt weak everytime she was brave enough to look at them, her upper body completely covered in bloody bandages, her big arms around someone caresing their arms with bloody knuckles. Vi’s new black hair falling on her face also covered in black, the scar on her lips, it drove Caitlyn insane, why was she smiling and flirting with other women and not with her? When she looked back into her eyes their sights locked, Vi was staring at her, how long had it been?
Once again her feet move without even realising, she was walking towards Vi without breaking eye contact, the alcohol had gotten to her head, she had no idea what she was going to do next. “Hey pretty girl, are you new around here?”, she was talking to her.
Caitlyn felt weak at the sound of Vi’s voice, her knees about to bend, but she managed to keep it together, and walked past Vi like she didn’t listen. She kept going till she reached the door that lead to the rooms and turned around to look at Vi again. Her head rotated along with her upper body, one arm on the back of the couch, looking at Caitlyn so lickerish she felt haunted. Head still covered, but she wasn’t sure Vi hadn’t recognized her. Then she got up. “I’m sorry girls, I fear my night ends here. See you next time.” She said theatrically, apologizing to what it looked like her fan club.
Caitlyn had to hold on to the doorknob as she felt she was going to faint, oh my god, she thought as Vi kept approaching her. The alcohol made her feel somehow triumphant, without even trying she got Vi to herself. One big hand slipped down her back, she felt every inch of her body tremble. “I see you don’t like to play.” She was so close to her she could smell the alcohol on her breath, dilated pupil eyes, Vi’s hand on hers to open the door . Oh bloody hell, whatever. Caitlyn just let Vi guide her, keeping her head down, enjoying her touch after months of dreaming of it. She was drunk, not too much, just enough to feel playful, could she say the same for Vi?
The sudden turn scared her, she felt the grip of Vi’s hand on her waist leading her in front of a door. Their eyes met and the smirk on the fighter's face made Caitlyn lose all the will it was taking not to kiss her. It was an awkward kiss, childish, then she took Vi’s head into her hands and kissed her properly, she tasted like alcohol and blood, nothing had ever tasted better. Without breaking the kiss Vi opened the door and they fell inside.
With frim hands Cailtyn closed the door behind her, the alcohol didn’t make her realize how nervous she actually was. Vi pinned her against the wall, grabbing her boob with one hand, while the other slipped down her waist, her hands were clumsier, all she could do was grab her back, trying to pull her closer with each kiss. They stopped to look at each other, head uncovered, Caitlyn didn’t care anymore about being discovered, fuck it, they could kill her right there and she would die happy. The lust on Vi’s eyes drove her crazy, she grabbed her by the hair, pulled back her head, licked his neck all the way to her ear. “What were you doing back there? Were you trying to make me jealous?” She whispered in her ear, Vi laughed.
Then she pushed her and turned around to be the one in control, Vi pinned against the wall now. Her bodies touching, she could feel every inch of Vi against her, oh god how god it felt, smacking wet kisses all over each other. Then she pressed her thigh against Vi crotch, nothing ever sounded as good as the moan she let out, she was so satisfied, sliding her hands all over her lover's torso, till she reached her pants. “Oh pretty girl” Vi said looking at her “You’re so sweet, but don’t think you’re special, it’s just that you look so much like my cupcake.”
Caitlyn’s eyes widened as Vi wet lips caught hers again. Was she so out of it? How much had she drunk? She suddenly sobered up, this wasn’t right, as much as she wanted she could not keep going, Vi didn’t even know what was going on. My cupcake, Caitlyn thought. Doesn’t she hate me? She doesn't no who I am. Her thoughts ran wild in her head, suddenly she felt dizzy, everything around her was spinning. She pushed herself away from Vi, folded over her stomach and puked. When she looked up she saw Vi sat in front of her, worried look on her face. Oh my god this is wrong this is so wrong. “Look I-I’m sorry, I have to go. I can’t do this, no-not like this Vi, I’m so sorry."
She rushed out of the room, leaving Vi behind with a confused look on her face. She ran to the bathysphere, head covered, crying, when had she started to cry? She was leaving Vi again, but what was she expecting? She didn’t want to do anything with Vi in that state, she was sure she had recognised her, but then… You look so much like my cupcake. Fuck. FUCK. She blamed herself, she had drunk so much and was so obsessed with Vi she didn’t even realize the state she was in, she should have seen it. I have to come back, I can not leave her like that, she’s gonna get herself killed… Oh my god she’s gonna get herself killed. She fell on her knees covering her face with her hands, she was crying and sobbing hysterically not being able to move, she stayed there trying to control herself, secretly hoping for Vi to have realized and come to get her. She felt so selfish, she didn’t need to be taken care of, she was okay, Vi on the other hand…
It took all the strength on her body to get up and leave, it was really late, soon someone will ask for her and they will notice she was gone, that would be even more dangerous, Ambesa thought she was discrete but Caitlyn had realized she tracked her movements, she couldn’t be gone for that long. While the bathysphere was going up she kept thinking of Vi, not what happened on the Last Drop, but on what she was doing down there, the fights, the blood, the alcohol… She could not leave her like that, at least now she knew where Vi was, it would be easier for her to know if she was okay, at least if she was alive.
-------------------------------
Vi woke up lying on vomit. Oh another great night I see. She barely remembered last night, what did she do? After the fight everything was a blur, even the fight was hard to remember. Sat on her bed, unwrapping her dirty bandages showing up the bruises all over her, trying to remember. Flashes of the night came to her mind, all the girls in the club going around her like they always did when there was a fight, most of the nights she wasn’t punching someone she just drank herself to the verge of passing out, but there was something else, there was another girl, she looked so much like… “Oh” Vi said out loud, her eyes wandering around the room. That girl looked so much like Cait she thought it was some kind of hallucination, and probably it was, it wouldn’t be the first time.
When their eyes met at the club she went absolutely crazy, it always happened like that, at some point of the night she thought Cait was around, sometimes it was her mind playing tricks and none was there, she would go to her bed and cry herself to sleep, but it was worse when she thought someone was her, she would wake up the next day next to some strange girl that looked nothing like Caitlyn, in those moments she felt so guilty and ashamed. But the girl from last night felt different, even her lips felt like Cait’s, god she thought she had forgotten how she tasted but last night it came all back. Looking at the vomit on the floor it wasn’t difficult to guess what happened, she was way too drunk, as always, and ended up puking on the poor girl, who probably just ran away. Can not blame her, I would run away from me too if I could.
Almost everyday was the same, she would always say that she would stop drinking, or at least drinking less, only fights, it felt good to be punched. But she always came back to the alcohol, how could she not if it was the only way to feel closer to Cait, the only way to see her, even if she was not real. Oh cupcake, you’ll be terrified of me now. There's nothing good in me now. She laid back on her bed, silently crying and hoping to see her again tonight at the end of some bottle.
