Chapter Text
Cait
Caitlyn Kiramman had never known a stable life.
Throughout her schooling years all she’d ever known was adapting.
To a new home, a new school, new people. At 18 she had lived many lives, and gone through many phases to deal with the tumultuous living conditions.
You could probably credit it to her mother. Cassandra Kiramman, CEO and founder of Kiramman Enterprises.
Anyone who was anyone in the business world knew her name, she was a prominent figure in the upperclass across all of Europe, much of where she had established all her business ventures. Its how she came to begin a new life every few years in a new country. In her primary years she had lived in London, Paris, then London again before moving to Vienna for the beginning of Secondary school. Year 7,8 and 9 were hell, honestly Caitlyn didn’t think she’d developed consciousness until Year 10 when she had moved to Belgium just before moving to Manchester. Nothing ever settled, everything was always moving. Sometimes Caitlyn saw the Kiramman Enterprise as another sibling, one that her mother favoured and put before anything else. She knew her mother loved her, her father too. They were lucky, despite the boredom of business luncheons and charity balls Caitlyn had been born into a life others would never even have the knowledge to kill for.
Kiramman was an ever exapnding corporation, they had conquered most of Europe with ventures in England, Germany, Belgium, France, Austria. Though it had been known for years that the States was where business would rocket, and my did the Kiramman’s love a challenge.
This was how Caitlyn Kiramman found herself beginning sixth form at Shimmer Heights Academy in Los Angeles.
The conversation had gone something like this:
“Shimmer Heights Academy? You’ve got to be joking mother, respectfully did any rational thought go through your brain to have me move schools just before sixth form?” Caitlyn was angry and she made sure her mum knew it.
“Caitlyn, don’t you dare speak to me like that, Kiramman Enterprises is expanding and our family must make sacrifices, this will benefit you in the future you know, think about the bigger picture for once!” Her mother never knew when to back down from an argument. Caitlyn was a lot like her in that aspect.
“Think about the bigger picture? What like your perfect vision for your darling company?! More power, more authority more money? Have you ever just once considered what all this change will do to me? Have you ever just once thought about that!?” Caitlyn was boarding on getting too loud now, and her father, starting to interrupt knew that. Always the peace keeper.
“Caitlyn, your mother and I talked about this..."
“ That's the thing isn’t it? You never talk to me about this!” she snarled before he could finish.
“See? This is why Caitlyn! Your too quick to argue, and too quick to deny the possibilities of something better, if we gave you a say in every move we had we’d be stuck in London for the rest of our lives!” Whenever Caitlyn began to lash out just the smallest bit, her mother knew when to begin attacking her character.
“ Maybe I'll just move back to London then and be stuck there forever! you’d be happy about that wouldn’t you and then you wouldn’t have to worry about me ever again mother!”
“You go right ahead Caitlyn, but this decision is final so theres no point arguing about it now”
“This is bollocks” She was right there was no point arguing, she ran into her room and slammed the door.
At 17 she knew it was childish but this sort of situation called for such theatrics.
But on another matter, she had landed in Los Angeles and now looked upon the sunny hills of Piltover, a ridiculously rich suburb by the looks of it. Each house was secluded from the street view with large sandstone walls and greenery covering any glimpses into the mansions inside. Caitlyn had counted 130 black range rovers just from their trip from the airport alone. Ridiculously boxy and ugly she had found them, where was the class, she was yet to see a royce or a bentley but that was probably just the european in her.
She felt a vibration from her phone,
Message from Jayce: ARE U IN LA NOW?!
She smiled replying: YESSSSSSSSSSSS
She had met Jayce in London where he had been on a fully paid science trip, Kiramman enterprises had been funding many scientific projects and often handed out free workshops and scholarships to potential individual’s showing promise in the fields necessary for their business operations. By a random decision to join her mother at the office that day she had met Jayce.
He had come running around the corner and crashed into her, after helping him up she had introduced herself and evem given him a show around the building after his science workshop. They became quick friends and exchanged numbers and had continued to keep in touch ever since.
Jayce was easy to get along with, not like all the other snobs and prudes at every private international school Caitlyn had attended. It was a gift from heaven that Jayce also happened to be attending Shimmer Heights, so there was at least one person Caitlyn knew of. Thank the Lord. Jayce was also beginning his senior year with her.
Senior year.
The thought of it brought a nasty aftertaste. It sounded so… American.
Her entire life she was sure that despite all her moving around she would complete sixth form and her A-Levels in England, after smashing her GSCEs she thought her parents would finally see that London was her home and where she thrived the most.
Obviously this vision now ceased.

Vi
Vi doesn’t remember the last time she’d known rest. Stillness was a foreign concept. A dream she could never wish for.
Every year a new problem emerged, the word problem was putting it lightly. More like cataclysmic events that changed the inner workings of her life everytime they appeared. First had been her parents, unfortunately for her and her sister they had died when they were very young, leaving them to their adoptive dad Vander. Vander, was a well known name owning numerous security businesses across California. Anytime a celebrity was scene with body guards, or any major event, you could bet that the black clad workers were under the employment of Last Drop Security.
They were incredibly lucky.
Zaun was hardly the suburb you’d think to find in a place like LA, that’s probably why no one ever bothered to talk of it. It ruined the picture perfect image that suburbs like Noxia or Piltover painted. Wealth, class, and power. Although much less admired Zaun still held all those things, just not in the pretty way the other suburbs did.
There were many other things that Vi would consider as the moments that had shaped her into who she was today. However, mould wasn’t the correct term, it had connotations to delicacy, soft hands carefully gliding the subject into shape. No, Vi had been forged and hammered.
But another day on all that. What a dismal way to look at her life, she had one last year of school and then things would be much easier. Apart from the rocky relationships she had to work on, the lack of love life and the horrendous grades she had on her record, everything was going to be fine.
Completely fine. This year would be her break. Today was a new day, the beginning of the new school year.
~
“ Hurry up Vi, where going to be late”
Considering Jinx knack for being all spontaneous bursts of energy, she knew how to be on time. It kept Vi in line in the morning.
Vi didn’t even have her uniform on.
The worst part of the going to a prestigious school in LA, was they were set on everyone wearing the same white button up blouse, navy skirt and tie. Girls had the option of wearing pants. Vi had never owned one of the skirts, it made her feel too vulnerable and it was just less practical, especially if she were to get into an impromptu fight.
“Vi your not even in uniform yet?! Hurry the fuck up!” Jinx had caught her,
“I’m the one driving you, be grateful you little shit” she yelled back without any real malice.
“Whatever sis” Jinx said before running down the stairs, blue plaits tailing behind her.
How the school never batted an eye at Jinx’s blatant dress code violations was astounding. She’d swapped out the black school loafers with combat boots that had laces that Vi had never seen match cohesively, and her blouse always had spray paint stains on the fringes. Her skirt was her pride and joy though, with a collection of embroidery that was constantly growing, the outline of a purple monkey was the biggest on the front on top of where her right thigh was.
The leniency on her probably had something to do with Silco. The school Principal.
Vi hated him.
“VI COME ON!” Jinx screamed finally before Vi heard the loud slam of the car door.
Before grabbing her keys and hopping to put on her second shoe she eventually got into the car.
They had arrived just on time, Jinx had punished Vi’s tardiness by blasting her favourite song on repeat the entire ride.
“Who’s in there?”
Jinx was pointing at the black Royce that was currently pulled in front of the school. Luxury cars were common but the Rolls Royce was a rare sighting in the city of Range rovers and Porsches.
“Probably just another rich snob joining the school, there not uncommon”
First period was always a drag, today was english. On other days Vi Actually enjoyed english, although she hardly advertised it, reading was one of her favourite hobbies, something Vander had told her to try out instead of getting into fights. It was how she found a way of escapism and balance rather than physical violence to expel all her pent up anger.
“So class, before we begin we have a new student with us today all the way from England” her teacher had gotten everyones attention with that.
“England?” Mylo whispered
“Must be a proper stuck up bitch if shes coming here from england” Claggor joined in
Vi couldn’t stifle her laughter,
“Fancy a spot of tear dear?” Mylo said mockingly to others,
“Not a chance mandem, i’m too leng for you bruv” Claggor shot back with his best roadman accent
“Pity, such a shame” Mylo sighed, a hand on his heart still with his best posh british accent. Vi was on the path to pissing herself while Claggor was turning red from containing his laughter.
“Everyone this is Caitlyn Kiramman” Their teacher introduced the new girl
“Well 'Ello Govenor!” Vi said turning to Claggor and Mylo where they buried their faces in their hands to stop from outright cackling. She herself was in stitches at her terrible british accent.
That was before she made contact with pale blue eyes at the front of the room.
“Bloody hell.”
Claggor and Mylo were reduced to giggling fits, Mylo holding onto the table for stability as Claggor kept pushing him as he laughed.
Caitlyn Kiramman, was probably the most beautiful person Vi had laid eyes on. A perfectly structured face, midnight blue hair that looked so silky and soft to touch. Her eyes were piercing, holding both a delicacy but a intensity to them.
“It seems Vi has fallen in love” Claggor whispers to Mylo, both of them finally coming back from their laughter.
"Shut the fuck up Claggor" She said before pushing him off his chair.
