So, he went on an adventure to figure out why. (Or maybe to find out that he may have ended up in the wrong.)

Or:

After 500 years, Nightmare feels an intense rage and confusion come from the world in which he once lived. Filled with curiosity, he tries his best to lead the source to him.

Notes:

This is my first time writing multi-chapter (even if it won’t be that long..) or writing in past tense. I felt like trying something new, and this is my inspiration to do so. Besides, it feels more story-like than other things I’ve posted and I’ve got a bigger project in mind. So, this is practice. Please tell me if anything is wrong. :]

Chapter 1: Reconciliation,

Summary:

One man meets with another(?) who he isn’t sure he wanted to meet.

Chapter Text

The cold wind howled and rain poured down, as a young man adorned with a bow and quiver walked closer to the manor. He shivered from the cold and a feeling of dread, and he gripped his flashlight harder as sweat beaded on his skull. He wearily stepped closer and pulled on the cobweb adorned handlesets. The doors creaked as they swung open as if pushed from the other side.

Inside is a grandiose, very large entrance hall that seems well attended to, no dust or cobwebs insight—unlike the doors. Blacks and golds cover the walls, as warm light casted from a chandelier accentuates the gold tones.

As the man observed more, he could see a second floor above, with two enormous staircases on each side of the hall leading up to it. Between the staircases sits a throne with a shadowy figure sitting on top.

The man sneered at the figure, grabbing his bow and preparing to nock an arrow. The figure slithered out of its throne, and looked arrogant as it peered down at the man.

The figure scoffed, appendages materializing from its back. Looking the man up and down with a cyan eyelight, the figure spoke in a low, scornful tone. "We meet again, brother."
