"How exactly are the cats meant to enjoy a snowball fight?" Edwin wondered as he watched Meatball gather a surprisingly large feline army. “They lack the ability to either form a ball or throw one.”
Thomas laughed. "Don't look at me sweetheart. You are the one who got them started with the orb chasing.” He grinned and gestured to a large pile of snowballs. "I don't think any of them realize they are supposed to return fire, they just want you to play with them again.”
Edwin smiled, picking up a snowball. "Not so different from their King, are they?" he teased. "Will you be joining them or assisting me?”
Thomas grinned and picked up a snowball of his own. "Yes."
Edwin nodded, his green eyes sparkling with mischief. “Very well then.
Let the game begin," he announced, dodging the snowball Thomas flung at him before returning fire.
Soon the field was filled with meows, purrs, laughter, and the occasional thunk of a snowball hitting its target and the dark figure at the edge of the woods smiled softly before vanishing in a flap of wings.
