Christmas Love 8: Happiness

Summary:

This is a Christmassy oneshot about Felix and Changbin being cute together <3

Notes:

Hello there! This is the last part of my Christmas Love series, I wasn't sure if I'd make it before tonight but I managed to put this together. Please enjoy <3

As tagged, their relationship in this fic is completely undefined. They could be just friends, pining idiots, an ace couple, married,... Whatever suits you ^^ I just wanted to make them cute, I hope I delivered!

One of a kind, yeah, you make me feel alive

You're the light of the night, I just love it when you shine

Stars in the sky, yeah, they glisten in your eyes

Feeling red 'cause I'm shy, you're my angel in white

Work Text:

The freezing air is biting at Felix’s cheeks and making his nose turn red. A few shy snowflakes are falling on Changbin’s head, creating a beautiful contrast against the pitch black of his curly hair. There are Christmas lights all over the streets that cast a soft lighting on them, adding to the already beautiful ambience. Around them, kids run around, groups of friends chat away their afternoon and a few loving couples walk hand in hand admiring the decorations the city hall has put together.

Felix sniffs absentmindedly, a gesture his own body didn’t ask permission for because it knows that his mind is elsewhere.

Changbin cracks a joke here and there, and Felix genuinely laughs even if he won’t be able to remember most of them. He looks beautiful, Felix thinks as he admires the slope of his nose, his untamed locks and how perfectly the black earring compliments his features. Felix adores everything about Changbin, and he's the happiest knowing he's such a big part of his life.

He sniffs again and a shiver runs down his spine, which means it's time for Felix to resort to extreme measures.

“It’s freezing tonight,” he says, as if he's ever needed an excuse to plaster himself against Changbin’s arm, clinging onto his bicep like a lifeline. As if he were a cat making biscuits out of sheer comfort, he starts kneading the muscles. Even covered by a few layers of clothing, it does wonders for Felix’s mood.

Changbin, however, has different plans and withdraws his arm only to throw it over Felix’s shoulders, tugging him even closer. It’s a bit of an awkward angle, but Felix lets his head fall on Changbin’s shoulder, humming as he faintly feels the warmth coming out of Changbin.

“Should we go back home?” Changbin suggests.

Felix considers it for a moment, looking at him from a weird angle that doesn’t prevent him from admiring how pretty he is. He bites the inside of his cheek, thinking about the amount of dirty dishes waiting for them, and how he’d rather spend a bit more time ignoring the tedious pending chores and instead enjoying Changbin's company.

“Hm… Don’t wanna,” he says, pouting. Changbin chuckles and rubs his arm up and down to help him warm up a little bit. It’s a sweet gesture, definitely not enough to fight the cold, but Felix appreciates it.

A moment later, Changbin stops walking. They undo their embrace so Felix is left standing in front of Changbin.

He looks beautiful, Felix thinks. He’s blushing because of the cold, a little smirk on his lips and his eyes shining like they contain a thousand universes. There’s always this spark in Changbin’s eyes that Felix can’t help but see, it’s like the reflection of the infinite brain cells connecting in Changbin’s mind at any given time - Changbin is so quick and witty, probably the most creative person Felix knows, and he’s always thought his vivacious eyes are capturing just that.

“Me neither,” Changbin says. “But I wouldn’t want you to catch a cold… How does some kimchi jjigae to warm us up sound?”

Felix perks up at the prospect and nods eagerly. Changbin intertwines their hands and tugs him along, talking about some nearby place he knows. Not much long later, they have the stew while they joke around a bit more, still ignoring the dirty dishes waiting for them at home, and Felix can’t help but feel like the happiest man in the world.
