Make The Yuletide Gay

Summary:

When lost in a whirlwind, Terry finds comfort in a kind ear in Clint. And soon what was just a moment of him releasing stress, turns into so much more.

Work Text:

Terry resigns to the fact that it’d be fruitless to try and calm down the party at the bar. Once Brad traded Pickles Skittles for his drink tickets, (And subsequently Nicole and Nico). Any order that he and Joey tried to keep was gone. He sighs and slumps at Table 30. As the world becomes a blur around him.

But soon he’s broken out of his haze by a truly, angelic voice.

”Why the long face,Terr-Bear?” Terry whips his head so quickly, his Santa hat flies off onto the table in front of him.

“Want some Grilled Cheese, ala Clint?”

Terry would’ve never admitted it unless he had just discovered it himself. But Clint’s simple, but brilliantly made grilled cheese. With its smokey flavor, with light touches of paprika. Was just what he needed.

“This is amazing, Clint.” Terry spoke in disbelief. “You could seriously work on line back ‘der.” He compliments, as he continued to scarf the sandwich down. A bright blush appears on Clint’s cheeks.

”Aw, thanks Terry. I do really love it on bar. Feel like I belong there, yknow?”

“I understand,” Terry nods. “Sorry I’ve been so down. These holiday parties always seem to stress me out.”

Clint nods, “I’ll be right back.” And soon he is, holding two glasses. He takes a sip and sighs happily. Brandy with maple liqueur.

“You done it again.” Terry praises as the other man sits down next to him. “I really appreciate you bein’ here for me, Clint.”

”I’m sure others would do the same, I mean, remember when you quit and ended up at Cahoots?” Terry laughs deep in his throat and shakes his head.

”Or even what so many of you did for Bridgette when that shady guy in Vegas tried to marry her after she won the jackpot? We’re always here for each other.” He gives a warm and comforting pat on his shoulder. The two sit there, sipping the cocktails and munching on the sandwiches. And then, Clint looks up.

”Is that…mistletoe?” Terry’s eyes go wide and he looks up, a blush now making its way on his cheeks. He looks back into Clint’s eyes. Getting pure sparkle vision. Suddenly, their lips are pressed together and his arms wrap around Clint. The older man surely melting into the kiss. It isn’t long until the sound of cackling wolf-whistles are heard.

”I knew it!” Nicole’s brash voice breaks through. “Way to go, Terry!” She cheers.

“Damn, I owe her 15 bucks.” A drunk Brad groans.

“I think it’s cute,” Bridgette says. Blushing herself when she shares a glance with Trick.

“Now ain’t he one to talk?,” Joey snickers. Shooting a look to Amber.

Terry blushes beat red and goes outside to get some air. Clint not too far behind. “Terry!” He calls out, finding him quite a way from the entrance.

“God, Terry, just because we’re in L.A, doesn’t mean winter at 8pm is going to be warm!” He finally sees Terry’s face and his own falls. “What’s wrong?”

”How they reacted. I know that it must be funny for them to see me like that. I’m there boss n’ all. But-“

”I get it,” Clint says. “And just so you know,” He lets his voice lower to a whisper. “I actually liked it.” He grins at Terry’s look of shock. “And I wouldn’t object to another.”

As giddy as this made Terry, he just have a firm nod. “Maybe a’nother time.” He says with a smile. Strutting off confidently. No doubt bathing in Nicole’s praise once back inside.
