☆Scout - Daisies☆

• Legitimately starts tearing up
• Tries to blame it on the flowers
• “I ain’t cryin’ I- I’m just allergic to flowers.”
• “Oh, sorry, I could just return them then—”
• “What? You’d hafta take ‘em out of my dead hands, I’m keepin’ em.”
• Isn’t a huge flower guy but the fact you went out of your way to get them for him makes him feel all warm inside
• Reminds him of when his mom would pick flowers to give to him after his Little League games

☆Soldier - Poppies☆

• Would aggressively compliment you
• “THESE ARE DAMN BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS MAGGOT!! I FEEL IMMENSELY LOVED AND APPRECIATED!!!”
• Seriously though, he does
• Since he was never allowed in the military he always felt jealous of the soldiers who got special flowers
• But he wasn’t now, because you respected him
• And if you did, that was enough

☆Pyro - Sunflowers☆

• ABSOLUTELY LOVES THEM
• Well, you can’t hear what they’re saying but the flappy hands and excited noises give you a decent idea
• Will just spend hours holding them in their hands and looking at the flowers like they’re the most beautiful thing in the world
• Draws sunflowers in all their drawings now
• If they accidentally burned them they would get so sad and give you flowers back as a form of apology
• Make flower crowns with them. Do it. 

☆Demoman - Bluebells☆

• Like most of the mercs, he’s never gotten flowers before 
• And he has no clue how to take care of them
• “Thank ye, but, would ye consider showin’ me how to take care of them?”
• Help this man out
• Please
• He would probably put them just on a table with no vase or water without you
• Y’all would put the flowers in an empty bottle of scrumpy <3

☆Heavy - Violas☆

• “Little merc has present for Heavy?” 
• Surprised, but not so much as Sniper
• Honestly the most chill about it out of all the mercs
• He has sisters so he knows how to take care of flowers but he’s never been the one to receive them
• Would press the flowers once the start to wilt and make bookmarks so he can keep them forever (sap)
• And if he’s more protective of you during matches, who's to say the reason why?

☆Engineer - Bluebonnets☆

• He sticks to the practical side of things, so when you give him a bouquet of flowers he’s utterly perplexed
• He’s flattered of course, and thanks you greatly for the gift because he’s a Texas boy raised with manners
• But he’s not used to pretty things and…doesn’t quite know what to do with them
• He puts them in a vase with water but he finds himself stopping his work to look at them
• They didn’t solve a problem, they didn’t hold a purpose yet people–including him now–seemed to love them
• Eventually gives up trying to find a reason for it and just accepts it as they’re just pretty
• Even though solving questions like “what is beauty” was never his forte, he’d somehow found an answer for it
• And it was…well, you.
• (He’d also 100% make you a flower out of scrap metal for you bc he’s a gentleman)

☆Medic - Cornflowers/Drosera Spatulata Sundew☆

• There’s two flowers that he’d like
• Cornflowers are one of his favorites, specifically the white ones (they remind him of Archimedes)
• Not just because they are national flowers of Germany, but he also appreciates their medicinal properties
• But if you somehow got your hands on a Drosera Spatulata Sundew he’d be pocketing you for months afterwards
• Is absolutely fascinated with carnivorous plants and you get him carnivorous flowers???
• The most romantic (or just super cool if platonic) thing in the world to him
• Isn’t a botanist but he’ll be in the medbay all the time now just observing it and its reactions
• He’s not sleeping for a while
• He’d try to create a serum for whatever flowers you got him so they’d stay as beautiful as they are forever :)

☆Sniper - Wildflowers☆

• No one has ever gotten him flowers before so when you show up at his camper van with hand picked flowers wrapped in twine he’s surprised, to say the least
• Finds it interesting how he walked past those same flowers everyday and never cared
• But when you gave them to him they felt…special.
• Awkwardly mumbles a ‘thanks mate’ to you
• Keeps them in an (UNUSED I REPEAT UNUSED) jar in his van
• Smiles everytime he sees them

☆Spy - Roses☆

• We all know this man is an old-fashioned lover boy so ofc he loves roses
• But he’s never on the receiving end of them
• So none are ever good enough for his high standards
• “Eugh, where did you buy these, the gas station?”
• Similar to Scout that if you say you could return them he’d absolutely refuse
• Secretly thinks it’s really sweet 
• Doesn’t act any differently towards you afterwards when he’s with you
• But you find multiple bouquets of roses in your room and a note that says “if you ever consider buying me flowers again, buy roses from these boutiques instead of the trash you had before.”

☆Scout☆

• Oh man
• MAJOR ego boost for this man
• Goes straight to his head, you can’t stop it
• Thinks he’s the coolest guy in the world
• You thought he talked a lot before? Get ready for him to yap all the time now
• Gets used to it really quickly
• The rest of the team fuckin hates it
• One loud-ass Boston voice was enough but now there’s two???
• He absolutely uses as a defense in any argument
• “Yeah? Well at least I don’t need to talk in another guy's voice.”
• All in good nature though
• He thinks it’s sweet

☆Heavy☆

• When he first heard you he thought there was a spy in the base
• Very relieved when he realized it was just you
• A little puzzled but accepts it
• Will teach you Russian and the proper pronunciation
• “Okay, repeat me. Да.”
• “Da.”
• “No, no. Да.”
• “Да?”
• “There it is!”
• Slightly insecure of when he speaks English since he feels it makes his sound less intelligent
• So to know that someone likes his voice is really nice

☆Spy☆

• Thinks you’re making fun of him at first
• He can’t go one day without hearing a “hon hon hon baguette” from Scout
• Secretly impressed by your accuracy but he’d never say that to you
• He’d imitate your voice in retaliation until he found out that you just did it for fun
• “You'd make a decent spy, you know. Not as good as me, of course, but decent.”
• Y’all would imitate the other team together for funsies now
• But bro casually drops the craziest lore he knows when you do it though
• “Oh mein gott Heavy, it appears you have found out my secret!”
• “Yes doctor, but do not worry. Heavy will tell no one about doctor’s secret diary with drawings of Heavy in it.”
• “Wait Medic has what?”
• “You didn’t know?”
• “No! Tell me everything. Now.”
• Congrats you just got a gossip bestie

Chapter Text

• You had a rather…unusual childhood 
• Having two mercenary dads meant you were a lot of the time in Medic’s lab while they were out on a mission
• You often read (or tried to) Medic’s anatomy and medical books, mostly because they were the only books with pictures
• (You learned very quickly that the books were the only normal thing in there after opening the fridge one time for a snack.)
• After losing a match your two dads came back exhausted and frustrated, fully ready to just pass out
• But finding you (drowning) in Medic’s spare lab coat as you read a medical textbook their hearts just melted.
• Medic’s ecstatic right at the beginning
• Heavy…not so much
• Sure he loves Medic, but now there’s two of him???
• Is more on the overprotective side than Medic
• (Literally the meme of “ a knife!” “no!”)
• Medic would give you stuffed animals to perform “surgery” on, complete with red dyed cotton stuffing 
• “Ah, our little taube. They’ll be doing that to people soon, you know.”
• “...how soon doktor?”
• “Ach, well, Scout has to have surgery this Thursday, and I was just thinking–”
• “Doctor.”
• “Fine, fine. Next week.”
• They get you a doctor outfit that’s actually your size for dress up and a little doctor kit 
• It didn’t come with a scalpel so Medic just gave you one of his
• Realizes his mistake when the two of them find you crying over a cut you gave yourself with it
• They kiss your boo-boos better and have Engineer dull it down so you can’t hurt yourself again with it
• Similarly when you’re sick they both get very protective of you, at least one of them staying with you all the time
• The ENTIRE time
• “Papa? Aren’t you gonna get sick too, being with me?”
• “Net, your papa is big strong man. Tiny sickness will not hurt him. Little belka needs company, that is what is important.”
• (He absolutely got sick too and Medic had to take care of you both)
• When Medic’s performing surgeries he lets you watch and teaches you what to do.
• “Please, doc, I’m dyin’ here, just a lil painkiller?”
• “Now, taube, when the patient asks for anesthesia what do we say?”
• “Anesthesia is for little babies!”
• “Perfect!”
• Y’all don’t know the meaning of the word squeamish, dinnertime conversation mostly consists of ideas for experiments, graphic retellings of surgeries and battles
• The casual gore doesn’t stop at bedtime either, Medic reads aloud German fairytales to you as Heavy tucks you in and holds your hand 
• Even though you act a little psychotic at times, you're their treasure and they love you with all their hearts

☆Spy☆

• Loves it
• More excuse to be a hopeless romantic with you
• One of his favorite things to do with you is play piano with you sitting on the bench next to him sing a melody along with what he’s playing
• If you wanna absolutely WOO this man, learn French love songs to sing to him (his favorite is La Vie en Rose)
• Guaranteed to having you leaving his smoking room covered in lipstick marks (or not leaving till morning 👀 /j /j)
• Gets so flustered though
• “Mon cherie, you must reduce to cheap tricks to seduce me? Pathetic.”
• (He says that right before kissing you so hard you can see the future)

☆Medic☆

• Is utterly fascinated by it when he finds out
• No one on the team has a particularly good singing voice, so he def wants to do (more) experiments w/ you
• “Open your mouth for me schatz, that’s it, lovely. Now sing an F# for me.”
• Wants to see your vocal chords in action fr fr
• Will compliment it all the time in his own special way
• “Ohoho! Your diaphragm, it is so strong! And that larynx, the control in it!”
• Well, at least you think those are compliments. Hard to tell with him.
• On quieter, calmer nights he turns on the record player he has in his lab and takes your hand, leading you to waltz with him
• Wraps an arm around your waist as you hum the melody along into his ear. 
• “Ich liebe dich, schatz.”

☆Sniper☆

• Finds it relaxing to just listen to
• In those early mornings he loves to just lean against you and drink his coffee as you hum whatever new melody is in your head
• Isn’t a really talkative guy so he likes to just listen to you sing all the time, like you’re his personal radio whenever he’s carving 
• Flirts with you about it all the time
• “You got an awful pretty voice, songbird, it’d be a pity if someone interrupted all that singin’ by kissing you~”
• Yeah he calls you songbird all the time now
• You got a name? You don’t anymore, it’s songbird
