Her Pokémon's fiery show bathed her in an inexplicable ethereal glow.
"Fire Blast, let's go!"
The fox Pokémon she owned gracefully twisted her branch, conjuring a giant flame that burst into a million bokehs.
"That's it!" she announced, breathing hard. But she was wearing an energetic smile, as if her lingering dream was fulfilled. Immense pride filled me when I got to my feet, applauding her and shouting compliments, even if she couldn't hear them from the stage she now stood on.
But then, she twirled to face where I stood along with my friends, beaming brightly as if she knew my exact location...
