Work Text:
A star became sentient when it formed, was destined to travel the universe until it's fuel would be burned away.
It fell in love with the universe & all its beauty, so it wandered across the seemingly endless void that is space, watching stars get born, galaxies growing & searching for other beings like it. Surely if it was able to exist, there must be others just like it?
But they had no luck.
Should its existence be just a coincidence? A mistake even? But how could something so beautiful as the universe make a mistake?
And in a sheer coincidence, the star found the solar system, more accurately the cloud of gas and material that would become the famous solar system.
The sun was just beginning to form and the being stayed to watch over the process of it and to protect it from harm of deep space.
The star fell in love with uniqueness of the planetary system and developed an interest the third planet in line - the Earth.
Fascinated by the complexity of the planet, the star wondered if maybe this small ball of stone could be destined for more.
Staying close to the sun without influencing its formation and life, it watched life grow on Eart ans saw it get destroyed.
The being only interfered when truly necessary.
The sun became a dearest brother and companion, despite not able to have a conversation and the Sun's system became it's family.
Humans developed advanced technology and were able to witness the being who had been always far outside of reach, hidden in the depth of the Oort cloud.
The star was mesmerised by the human abilities and quickly adapted their appearance to mirror them and to signal that it would be no threat to them. To further signify it's protective intent, the being, now looking like a dark-skinned woman, started to point at things that would lead to danger and be a threat to life as a whole.
The Earth had children now, that the being swore to protect them.
To make the sun happy.
Until it disappeared without trace.
