You lie in bed, eyes closed. You barely make out that the sun was now illuminating the room. You wince, feeling a throbbing pain in your lower abdomen. You had a sneaking suspicion that you had your period the other day, and it was assaulting you now. You groan, fighting the heaviness of your eyelids. You had to get up. Straining your body, you do your best to get up. Failing as an intense pain attacks you.
Fuck this stupid body.
Captain Ashiro might reprimand you... You were sure that the others were halfway through morning training right now– hell, it could be lunch time by now and you wouldn't know. You wonder if Soshiro was thinking about you. You wished he was here. Frustrated, you clutch your lower abdomen. The pain being a bit too unbearable, being a mixture of hunger and period cramps. You find small relief from the warmth radiating from your hands, temporarily lessening the pain you were experiencing. You close your eyes, threatening to drift off to sleep.
Suddenly, you hear someone quietly open the door. As if they were doing their best not to disturb you. You forcibly open your eyes to see who had entered the room.
It was Soshiro.
You panic, pushing yourself to sit up. "Vice Captain–" He shushes you, guiding you to lie back down.
"I heard about yer condition from Shinomiya, how bad does it hurt?"
"Horrible." You try not to whimper. At that moment, the pain became torturous. It took your all to not break down into sobs in front of him. You see his face wear a concerned look.
"Stay here." He leaves, you wait in your bed in silence. Focusing all of your attention on the small things you currently find comforting, be miniscule as they may. It momentarily distracted you, long enough for Soshiro to come back.
"Here." He hands you a heat pack. You almost cry out of relief. You immediately press it against your lower abdomen, almost eliminating the pain. Now that the pain is bearable, you can feel yourself drifting into slumber once again. Your eyes are heavy. You hear a plate and a glass being placed on your bedside drawer. You feel the bed dip down.
"I already informed Captain Ashiro, told her yer taking the day off. I also told the others not to disturb ya. I brought you some food for you to eat when you're well enough, and some medicine to help with the pain."
"Thank you." You manage to mutter.
"Ya need anything else?"
You weakly shake your head. You can feel him nudge you a little, asking you to make space for him in which you groan in response. You turn your head to look at him.
"What are you doing?"
"Can't I sleep with my girlfriend?" He pouts.
"You sound really inappropriate right now Vice Captain Hoshina."
His pout deepens. You look away from him, making space for his body. You immediately feel his arms around your waist, placing his hands on top of yours, adding more pressure to the heating pack currently placed against your abdomen. The presence of his hands comforted you, and the added pressure did nothing but lull you to sleep. Instinctively, you snuggle your back into his chest.
"Soshiro." He responds with a hum.
"Thank you again."
"..."
"I love you." He snuggles his face into your shoulder, sneaking a kiss behind your ear.
"I love you too."
