AITA for refusing to let siblings join my school?
I (adult, M) am the director of a private school which boasts a great curriculum. We're located in a rather casual city where everyone knows everyone, and so generally parents just invite me over for dinner when they want to convince me to enroll their children in my school.
I was invited the other night by this family (2 parents; 3 children; 1 adult zombie who's unrelated to them and lives there) to examine the kids' enrollment. First, they dragged me through a super weird visit of their house, with enormous, tacky sculptures everywhere, including in the toilets, and not an inch of wall space that wasn't covered in paintings. Then the mother started making dinner while the father tried to make me drink at the bar they have literally just there in their hallway, but the oven caught on fire. The Firefighters came in straightaway, but then the zombie drowned in their garden pool which was not up to safety standards (there was no ladder) and then they served me burned lobster to eat for dinner, all the while making very clumsy attempts to butter me up with half baked compliments.
In the end, I told them I didn't want anything to do with their family again and I was not taking the kids in my school. The father had a breakdown and started nursing a sac of flour.
AITA for not taking their children in my school?
