Chapter Text
The first sign that something was wrong was the slight tremble Adam felt, which then followed the shakiness of the liquid of his drink. He didn’t know what was happening, but his dearest friend, his pet dog, Apollo, started barking, he sounded worried which only fuelled Adam’s confusion and a feeling of dread.
Adam went next to Apollo, trying to comfort him, while also trying to figure out what was wrong. It was at that moment that the pictures on the walls started to fall down, which then made Adam realize what was happening. Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on how you look at it, there wasn’t anyone else home so no one was there to guide him.
He tried to get himself and Apollo to the exit so that they could take the stairs down, but before they made it to the front door, one of the cabinets fall in front of it, effectively blocking it. Adam didn’t know what to do, he wasn’t strong enough to remove the cabinet and Apollo was panicing which only feuled his own panic. He then decided to hug Apollo and pray to a god he didn’t believe in that someone will come to help them, save them. But no one came.
Shortly after, his apartment building came down, and they both fell the entier 10 floors to the ground. The last thing Adam remembers before passing out is his father screaming his name. Everything went dark afterwards, it was so lonely there in the dark. There no angels to guide him to eternal peace, nor any demons to drag him into eternal suffering. There was no divine, white light, only darkness. He didn’t see memories of his life, nor any other spirit or ghost.
After what felt like an eternity, but at the same time, just a few seconds, a bright light appeared and enveloped everything. Everywhere Adam tried to look, no matter what direction, there was a white light that felt like it was pulling him somewhere unknown to him.
At some point, Adam closed his eyes and let the light pull him forward. After a while, he opened his eyes to a gorgeous view, there were beautiful markings upon giant pillars surrounded by a few plants. When Adam looked forward, he noticed some stairs leading to what looked like a balcony, though, he couldn’t see what was up there due to how high it was. Overall, everything in this place emitted a warm and welcoming feeling that made his chest feel warm… Wait a moment, wasn’t he dead?
How did he feel anything in his chest? When he looked down, he saw that he was still wearing the same outfit he was wearing earlier, but it had some cuts in it in some places, while others were either strained by dirt or… his blood, now that he was looking, he had a lot of open wounds, big ones, but the strange thing was that no blood was coming out of them, almost like there was no more blood left to bleed.
To distract himself, Adam went looking around the place he woke up in, when he looked at some of the carvings on the pillars, he noticed they were depicting strange creatures, almost like the pokemon in the games he liked to play, something strange was going on and he was going to figure it out.
Suddenly, a booming voice came from the direction of the balcony, “Welcome, Mortal to the sanctuary of the gods.”
Something compelled Adam to climb the stairs up to the balcony, and without having anything better to do, he did. Once he reached the top but before he entered the balcony, Adam saw a shiny glow by the door. Once he walked through the door, he saw a giant, slander, white horse-shaped figure with red glowing eyes that glowed with power. This figure has pointy, gold colored hoop attached to their midsection, alongside a mane that looked both wispy and fluffy, it also seemed to partly cover their black neck.
As Adam noticed that they were floating, the realization of who they actually were hit him, he was standing in front of Arceus, the god of the pokemon world.
“Hello child, I am sorry for the cruel fate you were dealt I’m going to take your soul and make it a new. However, you won’t return to the world you left behind, rather, I’ll be sending you to a place that lacks change. Maybe you can be the one that will reshape it.”
Adam’s eyes widened, “Wait, I’m not up to the task, I can’t do it alone-” And then he started to feel anxious, “-and what about my family? You can’t just reap them away from me!”
Adam’s eyes widened, “I’m sorry for shouting, it’s just a lot to take in, I guess.” He got the impression that Arceus smiled at him.
“All is forgiven, child, fear not because you will not be alone, there will be others from your world who will accompany you in your task. I have high hopes you will succeed.” The next thing Adam knew was that he fell through a portal.
