“I'll come back to you, I promise!"
"I know you will!"
And he still hasn't come home.
Kairi sat on the Paopu Tree and swung her legs back and forth. She was starting to lose hope that Sora would even come back.
To Destiny Islands.
To her.
She sighed and jumped off the tree then looked up. Two beams of light were falling from the sky.
‘Is that-?!’
The beams of light hit the ocean and came back up for air. She gasped quietly when she saw who they were.
"Sora! Riku!" She started waving at them.
The two boys looked toward her. Sora started swimming in her direction with Riku following behind him.
Kairi smiled then heard footsteps behind her. Two pairs, actually.
Donald and Goofy knocked Sora over and gave him hugs.
‘I guess they were happy to see him, too. But not as much as me.’
Then Sora held out his hand with her lucky charm.
‘He did bring it back to me...’
*Flashback*
Kairi gave Sora something that looked like a star. "Take this. It's my lucky charm. Be sure to bring it back to me."
"Don't worry. I will."
"Promise?"
Promise."
*Flashback end*
Kairi was brought back into the present when Sora looked up at her and smiled. "We-We're back!"
Kairi held out her hand. "You're home."
It seems like he had fulfilled his promise after all.
