Work Text:

Stanley was awoken by a stream of light. The curtains happening to be moved in such a way that it only shined on him. As much as he didnt want to get up that light was annoying, He wouldn't be able to sit still for long anyway.

He breathy sighed and carefully swung his legs off the side of the bed and stood up, His back popped as he did so. Yeesh he was getting old. He didnt like that but hey, neither does anyone else.

Today was like any other, Besides the fact it was quite sunny out. Norvin probably wanted to do something today but if Stanley really is be honest here, he'd rather waste his weekend playing video games. He spends time with Norvin all week after he gets home from work, Cant he just have a weekend to himself?

In the end it didnt matter. Norvin was the one that did everything so it really just was whatever he wanted to do. Speaking of which as Stanley stumbled out of the bedroom he could hear Norvin cooking something. It was always so fascinating watching the man cook. Stanley didnt understand anything in the culinary world, it was all just fuzzy magic from a outside perspective. Norvin always loved cooking for Stanley, and Stanley loved it because he couldn't cook anything. for the life of him.

It wasn't long before Stanley had found his way behind Norvin. Watching over his should as… he cooked something. He didnt know what it was but it looked good. Everything Norvin made was good though… Maybe he was just being a sappy boyfriend but he never failed to impress him with anything and everything.

Norvin started to chat with Stanley. though it seemed one-sided, Stanley tried his best to answer the man when he wasn't looking at him. Being permanently mute sucked… He wished he knew what his voice sounded like. Norvin tells him he misses it a lot, not that that it makes him love Stanley any less. Though Stanley couldn't help but feel bad that he would never get to hear his voice again or be with the person he was before the crash. But he knew it was just something out of his control. Seemed like a recurring pattern in his life.

———————————————

The rest of the morning was rather plain. Not that it was a bad thing, Stanley like the routine they had. Wake up, Watch Norvin make breakfast, Eat the breakfast, Sit on the couch and watch tv until he had to get ready for work. Or on weekends just wait until Norvin recommended they go out and do something. It so happens that Norvin recommends they go to that park they always walk past when getting groceries.

Without much other choice Stary agreed and not even 20 minutes later he was hand in hand with Norvin, being pulled down the street to a park. He knew he was going to have fun, he always has fun with Norvin. It was just he happened to drag him out the hottest day of the year too. He may be a bit dramatic because people say 30C isn't that hot but those are people who only live in that weather. Stanley does not and thus he is justified.

He argues online with people a lot… Norvin reminds him that hating people based on what they say online is wrong and “Is the whole reason the internet is so toxic Stanley. You should contribute to fixing it” But he Blows up on people whenever they leave a review on his writing so he also justified there.

———————————————

The park itself was nice- It was well-kept and fairly quiet, other than the occasional passing person. Stanley and Norvin had just been walking in circles on a small path, Norvin telling Stanley all about his new story and Stanley nodding and pretending to understand what Norvin was talking about.

There was something about watching Norvin just rant about anything and everything. The way his face contorts into smiles and frowns, The way his eyes widen, The way he gestures with every word, The way he says Stanley's name. It made Stanley love the man even more. Sure there were lots of things to dislike about him, He could name a million things he didnt like. But in the end it didnt matter. With time he learned to love those parts too. He loved Norvin. Straight and simple. There wasn't one thing anyone could say that would change that.

He was glad Norvin insisted on going to this park today. It really was the perfect spot like he was hoping. The perfect day for what now will be the best day of his life. Though he felt night would have been nicer… maybe that's just because they always do it like that in the movies. Well if he wanted to wait he would at least try to contain the smile he had. He didnt want to give anything away after all.

So he waited, He was very good at listening. Especially listening to Norvin. The man going on and on about the plot of the new story he was writing. It was about a man being trapped in a looping story, something he had to learn to break out of by breaking the world, Norvin said he wanted it to end up with the man taking the person controlling the world with him but I just cant find a way to put it into words. It was funny, That idea seemed so familiar, Maybe he just read something similar before.

He couldn't wait anymore. Pretty sunset be damned he couldn't hold his excitement in any longer. He tugged on Norvins arm, pulling his attention to him again. His other hand grabbed something out of his back pocket and lowered himself down to one knee

———————————————

It was dark once again. It seems as if it took only minutes to come from the park to here. Though Stanley has come to learn that's just what happens when you want something to never end. It was funny how the world worked. It was quite a coincidence he's even in this bed, Next to Norvin like he was.

He would never be in this position if he ever got in that accident. He wouldnt be here if his ex wife hadn't left him while he was out. He wouldnt be here if he didn't trust Norvin as he did. He wouldn't be here, right now, if all the bad things didn't happen to him. No longer was Stanley confused. He gained control over his life… His new life… With Norvin…

Stanley let his body sink into the mattress beneath him, Letting out a quiet sigh as he let his eyelids drop.

And Stanley was happy.

Wait. Something didnt feel right…

“Alright Stanley, This has been fun to watch but I think I’m ready to Move on now” Spoke a voice, a strangely familiar voice. A horribly familiar voice. Norvin’s voice. Stanley shot up and looked down to his side. He was met with nothing but a mannequin laying under the sheets next to him.

“Alright Stanley from the top!”

Wait please! Whats going on! What happened? What the hell is going on! Someone! anyone! Please whats going on someone please tell him anything PLEASE-

THE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER Loading...
