Chapter Text
Izuku sighed as he headed towards the support labs. His friends were all around him. Even Kaachan for some unknown reason. He didn't say much though, he was so tired. His arms throbbed and he had to find time to run to the store and get some hair dye and new contacts he'd ordered. No one knew what he actually looked like without those things, not even Kaachan. Hitoshi pushed the door open and the group walked in and headed over to Mei. He put on his stage smile for the girl. “Alright, we're here, what did you need help testing?”
“My newest baby! It's supposed to…” Izuku tried his best to tune into what Mei was saying, usually he could keep up with her, but today was not the day for it. He blinks when she stops talking.
“So it’s supposed to make a force field? Like Shoto’s ice dome but stronger?”
Mei nodded with a big grin, “Yes! It's gonna be amazing for bigger things, then you won't have to worry about shielding civilians and stuff.”
Katsuki rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. “Whatever, let's just get over this.”
Denki was bouncing on the balls of his feet with a grin. “That's so cool! Let's hurry and turn it on!”
“Alright! Three, two, one!” Mei slammed her hand down on the button to activate the device. Everyone’s arms flew over their faces as a bright light flashed. “Well! That didn’t work right!” Mei exclaimed as the light faded.
“What in the actual fuck!?” Katsuki shouted.
Izuku groaned as he rubbed his eyes. “Don't fucking say it Kacchan.” he growled knowing the blonde would blame him for this shit. He didn't have a bad luck quirk damnit. He ran a hand over his face and looked around blinking. A frown on his face. “Uhh.. What the fuck?”
Hitoshi frowned seeing two large men standing there. After so many villain attacks he, like the others, was on edge. He spoke with his quirk in his voice. “Who the fuck are you?”
Katsuki glared at the teen version of the insomniac in front of him. “Listen here tiny Eyebags, if you can’t tell who the hell we are, then you’re a bigger fucking idiot than I ever thought.” His mind was reeling trying to understand how they were standing in front of their friends as teenagers, while they themselves were adults. “What year is it? Are you in your first year?”
Denki tilted his head, “Well you, that's easy but this doesn't make sense. No we're second years, so are you... or you're supposed to be..” he looked at Mei, “Mei what did you do?”
Izuku rolled his eyes, “Kaachan, in second year I still wore contacts and dyed my hair. They have no clue who I am.” Then he frowned. "Wait, second year? So the war hasn't happened yet? I can save him?” He whispered the last part as hope filled his chest a little.
“I didn’t do anything!” Mei huffed. “Whatever happened wasn’t my babies fault!” Power Loader was gonna be so mad at her. He was gonna ban her from the lab for weeks, she already knew it.
Shoto looked at the man with blue and white hair, “It’s Izuku. I was right. You do dye your hair, you just kept lying to me! I was right!”
Izuku snorted, “Yeah I did, you were the only one that even noticed. But I couldn't really tell you the truth, it would've hurt our senseis.” Because knowing he was Oboro's baby brother would've hurt too much and he would've been treated differently. “Oh, it's Shirakumo now.. I went and changed my family name back after graduation.”
Hitoshi frowned, “Like.. Oboro Shirakumo? Like the guy Uncle Shouta was in love with in highschool?”
Katsuki growled, “Of fucking course. That was his big brother.” he shoved his friend. “This is all your fault, you and that stupid bad luck quirk of yours.”
“I’ll forgive you after you tell us everything.” Shoto said, possibly too proud of himself for being right. He couldn’t even be hurt by his friend not telling him, for Izuku to keep a secret like that, there must have been a good reason.
“Oh, there is some tea there and I can’t wait! Let me text Momo, we need ten good cups!” Denki giggled.
Izuku smacked Katsuki with Black Whip, a quirk he'd shared with the blonde years ago, “Shut up, I don't have a bad luck quirk dammit!” Why was his friend an asshole? He looked at Denki, “Nope, no calling or texting anyone. We have to go see Nedzu-sensei about this before anything else. Because if I know anything about time travel this is a one way trip and we don't belong here.”
Hitoshi just looked at the two of them, “Umm why aren't you two at each other's throats? Don't you hate each other?”
Mei backed away, “I'll go umm.. Clean this up.” Maybe she could get away with not telling her dad about this incident.
“Please place that in a subject box, Hatsume, I’d like to take a look at it myself so no one else ends up in the wrong time line.” Nedzu says as he drops down onto a desk from the vents. “And no texts or calls will be going out, I’ve blocked them until I get the answers I need. Bakugou, Shirakumo, as nice as it is to see you, this isn’t the you I should be seeing. It is good to see you’ve stopped the mask Shirakumo.”
Denki whined softly and pouted at being denied. He wanted the tea dammit.
Izuku nodded his head as Katsuki huffed, arms crossed. “Hello sensei, yeah this is definitely not our timeline. We were out patrolling when we were surrounded by light.. As for my mask.. After they executed my brother, I decided it was better to honor him this way.”
Katsuki looked at Hitoshi, “We fucking made up.” Then looked at his brother, “I still can't believe they fucking did that. Bastards didn't give a shit.”
“Executed your brother you say?” Nedzu’s interest was thoroughly peaked. “Well, let’s move this conversation to my office. The rest of you, keep quiet until I figure out what we’re going to be doing about this.”
“But-“
“What about Aizawa and Mic?”
Izuku sighed, “Guess you haven't figured that out yet... that was during the war.” he was so tired dammit. “Kaachan, do you have my pain killers? I can feel my bones.” best way to tell him he was in pain and why. Normally he wouldn't mention pain killers but there was no risk right now.
Nedzu nodded, “Do not tell them yet, first I wish to know what is going on and then I shall bring them in on this.” he looked at the two men as if they were a puzzle for him to figure out. He was excited.
“Pain killers?”
“Don’t act like you extras haven’t seen him break his arms and shit enough times, the war sure as fuck didn’t help.” Katsuki patted his pockets, finding what Izuku was looking for. “Here.”
Izuku took the bottle and downed two of the pills dry before handing it back, “Kaachan, give them a break, they don't know everything yet.. I think it was closer to the end of the year when I finally told them about Ass Might.” he looked at their friends. “I promise I'll explain everything but you should head back before Iida decides to call the coast guard to find you all.”
The trio frowned at them, “Everything.” They demand. “We get to know everything or we’re kicking your ass.”
“Come, let’s go before we run into people we shouldn’t.” Nedzu said, hopping onto Katsuki’s shoulder.
“Yes, everything. I know you've all got theories on some shit, but none of you can kick my ass.” Izuku chuckled as they headed out of the support room. His smile fell and he pulled the elastic out of his hair and let it fall where it may. Not like he was patrolling now. “This is a mess, remember, you ain't allowed to die on me this time. We can stop this war faster.. I hope.”
“With your knowledge, I believe we can do that.” Nedzu says as they enter his office. “With my own research into everything after last year's events, I think we can keep your future from happening, or change some of it.”
“Tch, so long as we can save Ro, I think we’d all be happy. There’s plenty of shit and people who get hurt who deserve it.” Katsuki grumbled as he dropped into an empty chair.
Izuku rolled his eyes as he took his spot in one of the comfy chairs. He sighed in relief, “Yeah, I miss him, and we both know how to remove the quirks and everything now. They'll have to go through me and the assholes in my head to get to him this time.” he growled softly. He looked at Nedzu, “Alright, what do you wanna know first?”
“Let’s start with your brother, then we can move onto All Might and why I assume I should be removing him from my school as soon as possible.” Nedzu was already typing on his computer, ready to encrypt all of the information.
“Picked up on that little comment did you?” Katsuki smirked. He knew that by this time in their high school career, no one knew much about how Izuku’s version of One For All worked, or how shitty Ass Might was.
He nodded, “Alright, but you won't be able to remove him. It'll blow back too much on the school.. and the Commission would step in. As for Oboro, when the building fell and he died, his body was stolen from Jaku and he was turned into a living nomu. He's there, stuck in his own mind thanks to different control quirks. You know him as Kurogiri. He's caught after the war, and the commision decided it was best to execute him instead of finding a way to free him." It hurt talking about it. “No matter how much I hate it, I think.. it was for the best.. He was forced to do some horrible things during the war.”
Nedzu frowned, “How disappointing. Well, let’s figure out how to collect Oboro before this war happens.”
“Just like that?” Katsuki asked. “You aren’t going to question anything else?”
“Why would I? My office is wired to alert me if someone has ill intent, you two, do not.” There was a sparkle in Nedzu’s eye which reminded the two why they never crossed the stoat after their big fight on ground beta.
Izuku shook his head, “Kaachan, you know not to question him. We learned that years ago.” he chuckled at the disgruntled look on the blonde's face. “Now for Ass Might. You know I'm the ninth. What you don't know is I can use all the other users' quirks, and share them as well. Kaachan has Black Whip. The man has been abusive since the beginning. I have permanent damage in my arms and back because of him. He forced me to go limelight when I wanted to go underground. Even in the future he still has too much power. The Commision has grown and they control almost everything I do. Nedzu, I'm exhausted. The only reason Kaachan was with me is because of his ranking, and the way people react to us together. They had no choice.”
Katsuki huffed, “I would've fucking blown them up of they tried to take my nerd away from me. Someone's gotta watch his ass.”
“You can share selected quirks? Very interesting.” Nedzu's analytical brain was very interested in the possibilities. “Well it’s about time I finally take them out I suppose.”
“Yes.” Katsuki cackled. “This will be great!”
“it's not gonna be as easy as you think, Nedzu. You've tried once and failed, but I know more about them now than you did then. I'll fucking help.” He wasn't gonna let what happened happen again. “Now, since we're here, what do you plan to do with us?”
“Well what would you like to do? I’ll make sure your license is reinstated so you can be heroes.” Nedzu had an idea, but well he’d let them think they had an option.
Izuku thought about it, “I want to be underground... and change that stupid hero name I was forced to go with. But other than that, I don't really know. I wanna save Oboro, and stop the shit that happens so something that keeps me close to the school.”
Katsuki huffed, “Make his ass a teacher, stick him with the cockatoo. He's fucking amazing with kids and smart as fuck. Just stick me somewhere close by.” Yes he was hiding a smirk, knowing his friend had a huuuge crush on the blonde.
“I’m sure Yamada would love an assistant in his classes! How would you like to spend some time with Snipe, Bakugou? The third year classrooms are close by that way.” Nedzu typed away on his computer. “Alright, what hero names would you like to use then? Will you be staying limelight , Bakugou?”
Izuku felt his cheeks heat at the mammal's words. He'd kill his friend later. “Uh, I think I'd like to go with Nimbus.” to honor his lost brother once more. And throw people off a bit.
Katsuki nodded, “Sweet, I getta shoot shit.” He thought about what he wanted to be as a hero for a minute, their future was so fucked before he felt he didn’t have a choice. “Put me in the dark with the nerd. With Black Whip I get around a lot quieter than with my explosions. Call me Nitro.”
“Fantastic. With that settled, you know that we built the dorms after the summer camp incident. There is a pair of apartments on the top floor of the teachers building you two can have.” Nedzu slides a pair of black cards across his desk to them. “Use these to get whatever you need. Your paychecks will be loaded onto them, so don’t think you need to return them.”
Izuku took his card and nodded, “Alright I'll take the B class dorm apartment then. You should call a staff meeting though, I'd rather not be attacked while walking around or when I go into the 2a dorms.”
Nedzu grinned, “Already called. I sent the email out while we were talking. The staff should be in meeting room four right now.”
“Then let’s go deal with those assholes so we can take a nap. We were on a triple before we ended up here.” Katsuki lived by his sleep schedule usually. And three shifts in a row was bound to make him snappier than usual.
Izuku nodded, “I don't have a den here, so I may end up with you if the nightmares happen.” he said as he stood and stretched out his aching muscles. “Let's do this.” He turned and walked out of the room and headed for the meeting room. He was worried but also excited at the idea of seeing his brother again. He pushed the door open and walked in.
“Nedzu what is this about? Who the hell are they?” Katsuki and Izuku knew the voice belonged to Vlad King. He never liked them, even if they didn’t interact often since he was the 2C homeroom teacher.
“Oboro?” The voice of their sensei gasped, making both of their hearts hurt.
Izuku froze mid step before he turned to look at the dark haired man. He took a deep breath and shook his head. “No.. I'm not him. He's my big brother.” he said softly.
Nedzu looked around before he spoke. “Well if you'd be quiet I would explain.” he turned beady eyes on Vlad, “There was an incident in the support labs, this is Bakugou Katsuki, and Shirakumo Izuku. They were brought here from years in the future.”
Power Loader slammed his head against the table and released a groan. He didn’t want to know how Mei managed this. He really didn’t.
Everyone ignored the man having a crisis and kept their attention on the pair before them. “What happened to the Bakugou we knew? And does anyone else think the other one looks a little like Midoriya?” Mic asked.
Izuku chuckled and so did Katsuki, “That's not even the worst things she does Majima sensei, but as for our smaller selves, they're probably in our time now. They'll be fine. The others'll takes care of them.”
Katsuki huffed, “That's cause it is him. He just took that bitches name off his own and took his brother's name.”
“Well, you two have aged nicely.” Midnight grinned at them.
“Nem, can you not? The last time we saw them, they were our students.” Aizawa snapped at her.
Katsuki had a tint of pink to his cheeks as he grumbled. Izuku rolled his eyes. “Very gay midnight, and I see by the look Eraserhead’s giving me, I was right to keep my identity secret.”
“Now, Izuku will be helping out with 2b and Katsuki will be helping Snipe this year.” Nedzu told the staff.
“I get to hang out with the not so green bean!? Hell yeah!” Yamada cheered. “I gotta come up with a new nickname for you.” He was going to have too much fun with this.
“You wanna see which of us is a better shot there, Bakugou? I bet my guns can out sling your AP Shot by a mile.” Katsuki was sure Snipe was smirking under that mask of his.
“You’re on you damn wannabe cowboy!” Katsuki grinned. It took him three years to convince Snipe to help him with his aim when in high school, he actually stood a chance in this competition.
Izuku blushed, “Ah, I mean you don’t have to, Mic.” He had a big enough heart attack when the man had started calling him green bean in the first place, he does not need another heart attack because he could have another nickname from the blond.
“What look?” Aizawa grumbled.
“The look that people give someone when they’ve seen a ghost and they’re disappointed because it isn’t who they want it to be.” Izuku sighed. “Believe me, you aren’t the only one who wishes it was my brother standing here.”
Shouta stared at him, he knew the kid was right. Izuku was a problem child, and one of the least annoying ones, but he’d much rather it be Oboro standing in front of him right now. He missed his Cloud. They never made it far into a relationship, Oboro died before they could get any further than admitting they had feelings for each other. “Sorry.” He couldn’t muster much more than that for the kid.
Izuku sighed and shook his head, “Don't be. I feel the same way you do.. but.. well maybe one day.” Be ran a hand through his hair. Trying to hide his thoughts even if Katsuki knew them. Damn snitch of a ghost. “But if you'd known who I was, you would've treated me much differently in class. All I ask now is not to be treated like a child or student. We've been to war and back. We haven't been kids in a long time.”
Katsuki smacked Izuku on the back of the head. “Stop that nerd. Don't let that shit she said to you win. We'll get his fluffy ass back.” He looked at Nedzu, “Okay, we gotta feed this one before he gets hangry, and then sleep. Is there anything else we need to do here?”
“You’re free to go. Come to my office in the morning and collect your staff badges. I’ll have a few other things for you too.” Nedzu said, waving them off.
Izuku nodded and looked at Katsuki with tired eyes. The blonde huffed, “Fucking fine!”
Izuku smiled and shifted to kitsune form before jumping on his friends shoulders. There were shouts from the staff but the blonde ignored them and walked toward the door.
“Hey Listeners! Wait up!” Mic jogged up to them, spinning so he was walking backwards in step with Katsuki. “Hey, so it was my night to do the food run, any requests?”
“Xtreme spicy curry and Katsudon.” Katsuki rattled off.
Izuku growled and smacked him with a tail. He huffed, “And for the nerd, any sort of pasta dish, fries and gravy, a BLT and a chocolate milkshake.” he told the man.
Mic gave them finger guns as he finished typing on his phone. “Gotcha. You guys grabbed the empty apartments up top right? I’ll knock on the door when I’m back.”
Katsuki nodded, “Yeah, we’ve got the empty ones.”
“Sweet. Catch yeah in a bit.” Mic waved and headed in the direction of the gates.
“I can’t believe you get boners for that guy. We need to recheck your taste in men.” Katsuki teased as he walked towards the staff apartments.
Izuku growled and bit him on the ear in annoyance. It wasn't long and the two were in their apartments. Izuku in his and Katsuki in his own. They'd wanted to shower and rest, Izuku was exhausted and sore as he toweled off, only wearing the pants from his costume now as he checked out the apartment.
Startled by a knock on the door, Izuku opened it without a second thought, knowing it was either Kacchan or Mic. He should have thought about it.
“Hey Listener!” Mic grinned at him, arm holding a large paper bag. His eyes widened slightly at seeing the younger man shirtless. He couldn’t stop himself from letting his eyes wander, seeing the amount of scars covering toned muscles. “I- uh- here’s your food!”
Izuku blushed seeing the beautiful man standing there looking at him. “Thanks.” he whispered out softly, “Sorry, I should've put on a shirt or something but we don't have anything here yet… I know the scars look bad.”
“Hey no!” A few strands of Mic’s hair fall from its bun. “Sorry, I shouldn’t have stared.” He rubbed a hand over his face. “Let me ask around for a change of clothes for you guys, okay? Maybe tomorrow I can take you to do some shopping?”
“It's fine really.” he told the man, “thanks for the food though. I can't remember when I had something to eat today.” Which was really bad, since he needed to eat so much more. “I'd like that, then I don't have to go with Kaachan. He's annoying when shopping.”
Mic chuckled, “Don’t worry about Bakugou, Nemuri already called dibs on him. Poor man isn’t gonna know what it him.” He was worried when he heard the adorable man standing before him didn’t remember eating. “I’m going to go find you some clothes, and I expect at least half of that to be gone by the time I get back, ya dig?”
He rolled his eyes, “I think he'll be fine with what hits him.” he told the man finally taking the food. “Don't worry, I'll eat as much as I can. Otherwise the ghosties will hit me with a slipper, or annoy me all night.” he told him. “Thanks, I gotta go see my friends after I eat or I'm sure they'll hunt me down.” Because he knew Kaachan would probably pass out after eating.
“Right, your little band of amigos.” Mic nodded. “Well happy eating. I’ll be back.” He gives Izuku a two finger salute and saunters down the hall to the elevator.
Izuku watches the man walk away, damn, he had such a nice ass. He just wanted to bite it.
It wasn’t long before Mic was knocking on the door, with an arm load of clothes. “It’s probably too much, but I wanted to make sure you had choices and something that fit decently. Hopefully there’s something okay.”
Izuku gave him a smile as he took the clothes, “This is great, thank you for this. You didn't have to go to so much trouble though.”
Mic rubbed at the back of his neck, a blush creeping onto his cheeks, “Is it wrong of me to say it’s because you’re my best buds little brother and I think you're adorable and that’s why I’m doing it?”
Izuku blushed a little more, “Well I guess I can see why. After all you guys probably just see Ro in me now. But I think you need new glasses, I'm not adorable.”
Mic squeaks, “Excuse you?! Those freckles and curls? The way your eyes sparkle? Please, if Oboro had been half as cute as you, I’d have fallen for him. Though he was always more a best bud material to me. Shouta, eh, he likes them too friendly. Not me though, not sure how that works.”
Izuku felt his cheeks heat a bit more. “I actually thought you two were together for a while. Just the way you two are together but.. yeah he's probably still mourning.” he told him softly. “I don't think my eyes have really sparkled in a long time though.. As for how that works, Zawa's a moron that's how. Truthfully he and Ro would've ended up killing each other. It would've destroyed any friendship they had.” he knew that, he also knew the two teachers were very much pining and not admitting it.
Mic chuckled, “Glad I’m not the only one who thought that. They acted more like brothers who were best friends at times. Bickering with each other. Oboro did enough that annoyed Shouta to no end and vice versa.” He carefully reached out and touched Izuku’s cheek, “They sparkle. Not well, but they do. Like little stars. They’ll come back at some point, I’m sure of it.”
Izuku closed his eyes as the man touched his cheek. It was warm and soft, it wasn't the touch of a teacher to a student. He knew he was red as he stood there. “I don't know if I remember how to make them sparkle anymore.” he licked his lips and opened his eyes, “I also know Boro was a dom, and so is Shouta.. so that would've been a disaster.” he himself was a submissive. “I should… I should get changed and head to see the rabble.”
“Yeah, they would have been like Tom cats fighting in an alley. Right your friends, I’ll let you get to it.” Mic frowns slightly as he pulls his hand away. He clears his throat as he turns to leave. “Let me know if you want help getting that sparkle back, ‘kay?”
