Chapter Text
Louise didn't make a hobby of pissing off the enforcers but you couldn't exactly blame her for making small comments from time to time. Hating Piltover was something she had done her whole life. Feeling like she deserves less for just living in the undercity. Being a trencher. Yeah she would show them a fucking trencher. So maybe she did make a hobby out of pissing off enforcers. A couple times it led her to getting beat but come on, this time all she did was say some small comments. She expected they'd yell at her or say some insults.
What she didn't expect was them to fucking lose their shit and start chasing after her, after she had insulted them about Piltover. So here she was now. Running through the streets of the undercity. Gasping for air as she sprinted, taking sharp turns, backstreets, doing anything she can to get these fucks off her ass. Her short pale blue hair got in her eyes, making her push it back the moment she got a second to do so. Sweat made her hair stick to her forehead as she continued on, pushing through crowds of people.
The outfit wasn't the best for a chase but here she was. Running in some old boots, her right boot having ‘Lou’ written on in red marker, an off white tank top and some grayish-brownish pants that didn't make it that easy to run but she managed. It'd help if her hair was evenly cut so she could...you know, put it up in a ponytail but she wasn't really thinking ahead when she was cutting it. She just had to get away and she’d be fine.
But nothing, nothing was working. Her legs were screaming for a break, the burn in her legs and throat were so clear. It was painful. She needed a break soon. Louise looked behind her for a split second before turning down an alley, finding a box and climbing up to the roofs, making distance quickly. She knew those enforcers wouldn't even dream of climbing onto roofs, even if it meant beating some poor slump rat, they pride themselves too much and they wouldn't waste their damn time. They'd find some other person to get their anger off on. She took a breather as she slowed down. Now walking and looking around, she found another alleyway that she could easily slip into and make her way to the main area and make her way home plus it had a pretty easy way down. There's a pipe she can grab on and then she could lower herself on to the windowsill under it and then lower herself down again and just jump down. Sounds easier than done, right?
Louise jumps, grabbing the pipe with her hands wrapping around it before noticing that it's wet.
Fuck. her fingers slip and she falls- it's almost peaceful for the split second she's in the air before her arm scraped against the windowsill she had just been looking at and then her back hitting the hard ground, the air in her lungs being forcefully pushed out, letting out a loud groan, pain blossoming in her back and arms as she lands. Her head bouncing off the ground making her vision flutter slightly, she let her head just rest against the ground. Her eyes shut for a second. She would love to just fall asleep right here. Or maybe a cigarette. Yeah that sounds really fucking nice. A cigarette. Louise let out a quiet sigh enjoying the silence.
“What a fall..” A smooth but also rough voice speaks from behind her. Normally Louise would get up and put her guard up but she's tired. Opening her eyes, teal eyes meeting her pale blue eyes. Then her eyes fell to the glow of orange between the man’s lips. A cigarette placed between the man’s lips, black hair pulled back in a bun with some of it falling out and framing his face. Louise has never had pride in her luck but she would swear to Janna that somehow that fall knocked her so bad that an angel now stood over her. “Ten outta ten.”
“Yeah.., I try my best to stick a landing from time to time, turns out luck wasn't on my side.” She huffed as she swallowed, her throat was so dry from the running she had just done making her voice slightly strained. Moving herself onto her knees and pushing herself up with her hands, standing and facing the man. Cocking an eyebrow up, the man was only a couple inches taller than her and had a similar build to her. She let out a quiet hum, eyeing the cigarette between his lips. Hearing the man let out a quiet chuckle at her comment she picked the cigarette from his lips and placed it between hers. Grinning when she sees the man’s eyes slightly twitched and a small frown find its way onto his face.
“Do you not know how to ask?” He scoffed as he gave her a look down. Mimicking her raised eyebrow on his face as he crossed his arms.
“Nope.” she shrugged as she took a drag from the cigarette and took a step behind her. “Well I've got to get going, bye stranger.” She hummed as she blew out the smoke, not waiting for a response from this man as she slipped away from the alley. Not even ten minutes later, she heard two enforcers call out to her.
It's going to be a long damn day for Louise. Letting out a quiet sigh and dropping the cigarette onto the ground, crushing it with her boot before giving a glance behind her and running down the street. The burn in her legs almost feels like some sick joke at this point. If only she stayed with that boy. Or angel, as she called him in her mind. What a silly name, he was just some random boy.
She ended up making it home a couple hours later. Living in a small apartment, she hadn't had many rooms. Turning her main room into a bedroom, her mattress pressed against the wall with two pillows and a lone blanket, a small desk that had multiple sketchbooks laid on top of it. Emptying her pocket and tossing her zippo lighter onto the desk.
Dropping onto her bed and letting out a loud sigh as her body hit the soft bed. She didn't bother taking off her shoes as she laid down. Finally having time to herself and being able to think about today, the boy from earlier now filling her mind, who was he? She wondered if she’d ever see him again. Flipping onto her back, her hands laying on her stomach before she sat up and removed the tank top she had on so she could sleep.
“…whatever.” she mumbled into the silence as she kicked off her boots and got comfortable on her bed. Undoing the buttons on her pants and kicking them off. Her right hand came up to her left hand, fingers lightly tracing the scar on her palm. Feeling the scar under the pads of her finger tips. Closing her eyes, the silence lulling her into a dreamless slumber.
What a day.
