Furina/Percy One-Shots

Summary:

Fluffy One-shots for the Furina/Percy pairing.

Notes:

I needed to get this out of my system if I ever wanted to work on my other stories.

Chapter 1: Moving In

Chapter Text

“Percy, I don’t care how much you like the color blue, we are not painting our entire apartment it!”

“You were literally the god of water for like five hundred years, why wouldn’t you want more blue in your life?”

Furina shook her head in exasperation.

It had been several weeks since her identity as a human was revealed to the citizens of Fontaine as well as her subsequent relinquishing of authority to Nuevillette. No longer feeling comfortable living in the Palais Mermonia, she took her boyfriend’s (saying still made her stomach flutter and cheeks heat up) to move into a new apartment together. It took a while to find a place and pack their things, but eventually, they found a place near the edges of the Court of Fontaine.

Moving in and unpacking took a decent amount of time (being alive for so long had allowed her to collect a large number of items) but together the process was easy. They’d taken a few days to bask in the newness of their situation, but eventually, they needed to face the inevitable.

Decorating. The current source of Furina’s frustration.

“That doesn’t mean I need to see it everywhere I look!” she exclaimed as she set a box down in front of her, opening it without looking

Percy stared at the ceiling for a moment before sighing dramatically.

“Fine, we can paint the living room and bedroom something else,” Percy relented as he walked over to a box against the wall. “I don’t know why the rooms need to be different colors. Only having to buy one color would be so much easier.”

“The people of Fontaine expected their Archon to have impeccable style, and while I may not hold that title any longer.” Furina was proud of herself for not flattering. “I desire to maintain that high level of style in my personal life. Now get over here and help me go through this box.”

“Your impeccable style was an all-blue outfit,” Percy said with a smirk as he walked over.

“You loved that outfit, you told me whenever you could,” Furina shot back as she sat down on a couch strikingly similar to the ones in Neuvillette’s office (Percy swore up and down he hadn’t stolen it, the missing couch in siad office said otherwise).

“Yeah, because it was entirely blue,” Percy sat down on the couch, his arm falling comfortably across her shoulders. “But we can talk about the superior color later, let's get through this box!”

The pair fell into a comfortable silence as they sorted through the box’s contents, most of the objects within being tossed into a growing ‘discard pile at their feet. Eventually, the last thing was pulled out to be judged, a small picture frame with a folded piece of paper tucked into the edges obscuring most of it.

Staring at the frame in her hands for a moment, Furina gently removed the folded paper to reveal a photo she and Percy had posed for several months prior. It was cheesy, but a picture she loved nonetheless.

Setting the frame down next to her, Furina picked up the folded piece of paper and began unfolding it, the paper surprisingly fragile. It was a picture, this time being of her hugging a large Blubberbeast, a large smile plastered on her face.

“Percy? When is this picture from?” Furina asked gently.

“What picture,” Percy looked at the image for a moment before recognition bloomed across his face. “Oh, do you remember the one time I was able to convince you to take a day off?”

“That was over fifty years ago!” surprise tinged Furina’s voice. “Why do you still have it?”

“That was the day I realized I was in love with you,” Percy scooted close to her and pulled her into a hug, his larger frame eclipsing hers. “When I would have a rough day or wonder if I should keep going, I would look at that picture to remind myself that you were worth living for, no matter how long I had to wait.”

Furina wrapped her arms around his chest and squeezed as hard as she could, tears welling up in her eyes. She had heard him say similar things countless times before, but they always made her cry.

“Unfortunately, I need to throw that picture away,” He said suddenly, causing her head to snap up.

“What! Why?”

“Now that I get to wake up every morning next to the real thing, the picture seems dull in comparison.”

Furina buried her face in his chest and laughed.

“I love you, Percy.”

“I love you too.”
