Today was Mikey’s special day! He was finally going on a date with a real lady friend after dreaming about for so long. They were supposed to meet up at a restaurant for dinner, but when Mikey got there he didn’t see anyone. Thinking she was running late, he decided to go inside and order a milkshake to keep himself busy while waiting. but the time kept on passing and no one showed up.. He ordered 2 milkshakes, then 3 milkshakes, then 4. And he was no longer hungry by the time he finished all of those milkshakes. And.. the girl still wasn’t there. He had been waiting for at least an hour by now. sighing, he threw the plastic cup away and left the restaurant with his head down. He thought for sure that he was gonna get himself a cool lady friend! But sometimes things you wish could happen, just don’t happen.
"Hey, Mikey! How was the date?" Leonardo greeted, a big smile on his face.
"…Eh." Mikey shrugged, walking over to the couch.
Donnie and Leo shared looks with each other before walking over to Mikey, sitting down next to him.
"What’s with the long face? Did ya get yourself a cool lady friend?" Donnie asked in a confused tone.
"Yeah, didn’t you have fun? You had the date at your favorite restaurant! Right?" Leo said, crossing his arms.
"…no. I didn’t have a date. Nobody showed up the whole hour I was there. I filled myself with milkshakes thinking that she was running late, but.. she wasn’t." Mikey mumbled, feeling tears well up in his eyes.
"I don’t know what happened.. she said today was a good day because she was off of her work shift. I’m not THAT ugly, am I? That someone would stand me up like that?" Mikey continued, sniffling softly.
Leo and Donnie looked at each other before they both reached over, wrapping their arm around Mikey.
"No, Mikey.. you’re not ugly. Some people just.. suck. I’m sure she saw your great personality through all the times that you’ve talked to each other." Leo said rubbing his back.
Donnie nodded "Yeah! Like.. I’m cool. But April still doesn’t wanna go out with me.."
Leo elbowed Donnie, shaking his head. "Not the time, Donnie.. anyway- Donnie is right. some people just don’t appreciate what they have. maybe she was up in her feelings and that’s what made her stand you up? But you yourself are such a fun person to be around!"
Donnie nodded, reaching over to wipe Mikey’s tears away. "It will be okay, Mikey. There’s always gonna be another chance. always. we’re still young! We’re.. 15 and we still have some time to find romance. and if we don’t, we’ll always have each other. we’re brothers! Sometimes being family is stronger than a romantic bond."
Mikey smiled softly, wiping the rest of his tears away. "Thanks, guys.. you’re right. I do have a lot of fun with you!"
Leo and Donnie both nodded, giving Mikey a big hug before patting his head comfortingly. "Well.. we have some leftover japchae in the refrigerator. want some?"
Mikey shook his head. "No thanks.. I’ve had too many of those huge milkshakes."
Donnie chuckled and nodded "Well then how about we watch space heroes? I know we’ve rewatched the episodes multiple times, but maybe it’ll cheer you up!"
"Yeah! Let’s watch space heroes!" Mikey agreed, clapping his hands.
