Legend Captured

Summary:

A foul villain has captured Legend and set up a series of traps full of people to rescue to prevent any heroes getting to Legend in time to save him. Unluckily for the villain, not all of the members of the Chain are heroes.

Notes:

I picked Yuga as the villain randomly so if you have a better villain idea feel free to drop a name. I do have one villain I would think would fit this scene way better but unfortunately I need him for a latter time so I couldn't use him here. Not saying who cause I don't want to spoil/protect myself incase I end up using a different villain for that story, although I really doubt it.

Work Text:

Legend blinked his eyes open looking around the room he had woken up in. It was stone, looked almost exactly like every dungeon he had ever been in. He glanced up to where he was shackled to the wall. He pulled on his arms, the chains didn’t do more than rattle. Right, captured then.

“Ah you're awake,” The man in front of him wore a garb that reminded him of someone.

“Yuga?”

“Yes,” the man moved across the room running his fingers along the only table in the room, “Ganon revived me, as I said he would. He revived me as one of you Hylians so I could better serve him. To revive him.”

“Well it sure took him a while then.”

Yuga scoffed, “Time has no importance, all that matters is Ganon’s inevitable revival.”

“Don’t see that happening any time soon.”

“Well you wouldn’t be around to see it I’m afraid.” Yuga began to unwind a roll of cloth, revealing two warped curving blades. “I have a ritual you see, to revive Ganon into this time.”

Yuga picked up the first of the two blades, “It requires the life blood of a hero of courage you see, harvested in a certain way. Your sacrifice will be invaluable.”

Legend said several bad words internally, all of which Time would try and wash his mouth out for. Well time to start stalling, “So how did you come about that ritual then?”

“Oh,” Yuga grinned, fingering the blade, “Don’t worry about stalling. We have plenty of time. I set up some presents for your family. A couple of chances to play hero. Well more than a couple. One for each of you plus one. Ten little traps. No, any rescue will be far too late. I made sure of that.”

Legend blinked. Nine? Not fourteen? He was only counting all of Four as one person? He turned back to glaring at Yuga when Yuga slapped him.

“That’s better, can’t have you zoning out on me.” Yuga smiled, he lifted the first blade, “Now to star-” and then he was gone.

Legend blinked, Yuga was no longer in front of him, he looked down and found Yuga on the ground, an arrow sticking out from his gut.

“Sorry it took so long,” Vio was standing in the doorway, his bowstring relaxed, he was smiling. He looked down at Yuga. “So you are the one that took one of mine.”

Yuga was clutching at the arrow as he tried to lift himself back to standing using the table, “But how? There’s no way you rescued every one of them yet. No hero could pass all of that.”

“Oh, no, no, they are still back there. I think they might be past the third trap now.”

“Then how are you here then?”

“I’ll guess I have to forgive you,” Vio kept walking into the room, until they were looking down at the table, “You must not have been watching us long. It’s hard to notice.”

Vio picked up one of the daggers looking down at Yuga, they cocked their head. Looking at the hand Yuga had on the table, he smiled, “I am no hero.” With this statement they stabbed down with the tool, straight through Yuga’s hand and into the wood.

As Yuga cried out, staring at the tool in his hand, pinning it to the table, “How?”

Vio shrugged, grabbing another tool, he grabbed Yuga’s other arm, placing that hand on the table they shoved the new blade through it. “I’m not a hero. Now stay here, I have more important things than you to deal with.”

Vio looked over at Legend, “Any injuries?”

“Nothing, except for the straightened arms. I’m going to feel that in the morning, my shoulders don’t really do this angle anymore if you get my drift.”

“Hm, good. That’s good. We can fix that easily enough.”

Legend snorted, “Alright, let me down and I can spot the door as you get any information we need.”

“Information?” Vio perked up.

Legend nodded, “We need to know how he found us, and I’m sure there’s other things you could ask about.”

Yuga looked between the two clutching his wound. Vio was staring at him grinning while Legend looked at Vio. “What are you talking about?”

Vio spoke to Legend, “You’ll watch the door?”

“Probably from outside, I know hanging around all us heroes all the time must be annoying at times.”

Vio turned to Legend, “Have you seen a key or do you know how the chains unlock.”

Legend shook his head, “I haven’t seen anything.”

Vio shrugged, “Oh well, I grabbed an ice and fire rod from the group. I’ll just use it on where the chain meets the wall and we can get them off the rest of the way after we get you down.”

Legend looked up at where the chains met the wall, and then down at Vio.

“Well yes, I’ll need something to stand on.” They looked around the room, their eyes sliding over Yuga who was slumped to the floor. Looking at the table he was pinned to. “Hm that’s a bit short, and I’m not Twilight I can’t just drag around heavy tables.”

Vio sighed, “I can’t exactly climb you either, it would put too much strain on your wrists. I don’t trust my aim with these rods well enough to miss you while still messing up the chain. Maybe if I had a stick I could poke it into the chain and hit that instead.”

Legend glanced at the bow Vio had on his back, “What about using your bow and an arrow?”

“That would probably work, but I only brought the one arrow in my rush. Oh,” their eyes widened, “Of course.” They turned towards Yuga smiling, “I’m going to need that back.”

Legend winced at the noise the arrow made as Vio pulled the arrow out of Yuga.

Vio turned back looking down at the arrow, “Well at least it didn’t get damaged. Wait for a moment while I get this all set up.”

Vio hummed, nocking the arrow, they easily hit the joint in the chain where it attached to the wall. Vio then used the ice and fire rods until the metal was brittle enough that Legend was able to break it by pulling his hands down.

Vio took the chain around Legends left wrist, he took out a couple picks and began opening the locks on the manacles, “There, all free.”

Legend rubbed his bruised wrists.

“Oh, do you need a potion? I made sure to grab one.” Vio dug into the bag they had, and pulled out a potion, pushing it into Legends hand. “There take that, you’ve been missing for a little while. We’ve all been worried about you. The others as well but they needed to save everyone. We can head out after I deal with Yuga.”

Legend nodded, “Well I’ll wait outside for them to catch up.” He smiled at Yuga, “Have fun.”

Yuga was looking up at Vio clutching his stomach, “How? How are you here? There have to be people left to save.”

“As I said, I’m not a hero. My siblings are heroes. I don’t really understand what the big deal is with this right and wrong, evil and good thing. All that matters to me is what is mine; my partner, my brothers, my family, then my friends and lastly Hyrule as it is my home as well. More prominently my family cares about Hyrule and are heroes, and I will do whatever I need to make sure mine are happy, healthy, and able to do whatever they want.”

“Now, I have a few questions, if you answer them, I’ll make this… quicker.”
