Chapter Text
One summer morning, Ed and Eddy were in Edd's bedroom. Ed was staring out the window while Eddy was laying on the bed. They were both upset because it was raining outside.
"I'm bored," Ed complained.
"Me too," Eddy complained. "How are we supposed to scam anyone with all this rain?"
Edd poked his head inside the room. "Gentlemen, follow me to my garage. I have a cure for your rainy day boredom," Edd said before walking off.
"This better be good," Eddy said to himself.
Ed and Eddy followed Edd to his garage. When they entered, they saw him standing next to a large object with a tarp thrown over it.
"Behold my newest invention!" Edd exclaimed before removing the tarp.
Ed and Eddy stared in confusion. The invention was a large metal ring standing on a platform with wires coming out of it that were connected to a supercomputer.
"What is it?" Eddy asked.
"It's a portal machine," Edd answered.
"What does it do?" Ed asked.
"It enables you to travel anywhere in the world."
Ed and Eddy were surprised. "Cool!" they exclaimed.
"I wanna visit The Planet of Bacon Men," Ed said excitedly.
"It has to be a place on Earth, Ed," Edd pointed out.
"Think of all the money we can make with this thing!" Eddy said excitedly.
"Patience, Eddy. Let me explain how it works before we use it."
Edd started explaining how the portal worked, boring Eddy again. Meanwhile, Ed snuck over to the computer and started pushing random buttons on it.
"Once you set the coordinates, just activate the portal and it'll send you to the desired location in a matter of seconds," Edd continued.
"Great," Eddy said impatiently. "Now, can we use it?"
Just then, Ed pulled a lever on the computer and the machine made a loud whirring sound, startling Edd and Eddy, who saw him with his hand on the lever.
"ED!" they panicked.
"Step away from that!" Edd yelled, rushing over to Ed.
"It's not a toy!" Eddy yelled, also rushing over to Ed.
"It's not?" Ed asked.
"No! Reverse that!" Edd ordered.
"Turn it off!" Eddy ordered.
"Okay," Ed said. He pulled the lever the other way, which made the whirring stop, but thanks to his immense strength, it broke off in his hand, earning him glares from Edd and Eddy. "It's off."
"Like your brain!" Eddy scolded. "You broke the machine!"
"Ed, you can't just tamper aimlessly with advanced technology!" Edd scolded. "Do you know how long it took me to build this?"
"Was it longer than a breadbox?" Ed guessed.
Suddenly, the machine started to shake and spark as if it was going haywire.
"Now you've done it," Edd groaned.
"Run for it!" Eddy yelled.
The two of them ran out of the garage, afraid of what the machine would do next, while Ed just backed away and stared at it. After a few seconds, everything went quiet and a portal appeared.
"Guys, come back!" Ed yelled. "There's a wormhole!"
Edd and Eddy reentered the garage and saw the portal.
"That's a portal, Ed," Edd corrected.
"Where do you think it goes?" Ed asked.
"You're the one who messed with it," Eddy retorted. "Where did you tell it to go?"
That question was soon to be answered when the portal shot a beam of light at the Eds and they found themselves getting closer to it.
"I think we're about to find out!" Edd panicked.
"What's happening?" Eddy panicked.
"The gravity around the portal is increasing and we're being pulled into it!"
"What do we do?"
"Grab hold of those pipes!" Edd ordered, pointing to some pipes on the wall.
The Eds ran over to the wall and held onto the pipes as the gravitational force of the portal grew stronger. Edd was the first one to lose his grip and get sucked into the portal.
"DOUBLE-D!" Ed and Eddy yelled. Eddy was the next one to lose his grip and get sucked into the portal.
"EDDY!" Ed yelled. Ed was the last one to lose his grip and get sucked into the portal. It closed itself once he was inside.
