Misadventures Of Ally The Robot

Summary:

Hunter created Ally, because he wanted a robotic partner. Unfortunately, he wasn’t very good and the robot came out with flaws and imperfections. She’s very silly and oblivious, trying to learn what she can do in the “human world”.

(MIGHT BE OOC, I HAVE NOT WATCHED DC2 OR DCAS, BUT THEN AGAIN, IT’S AN AU)

Work Text:

“Ooh, Grenade Upgrade, just what we need in life,” Ally’s robotic voice chirped as she got an upgrade in her video game.

“Why?” Hunter asked, raising an eyebrow at Ally’s suggestion. He had attempted to create a robot partner, but she had lots of flaws and defects. One of them, being her inability to distinguish reality and video games. That might be the answer to his question, he realized.

“If anyone had the grenades, then we could bomb those who wrong us, like in the games,” Ally said with an uncanny excitement and a tilt of her head.

“How about we don’t, Ally. It’d be cool but we could both go to jail,” Hunter warned.

“I see,” Ally replied in understanding, clapping her hands for some reason.

Hunter smiled and sat next to her, watching her play games as she talked about which upgrades she wanted in reality.

“I want food. But I cannot eat food,” Ally said in the most pleading tone her robotic voice could convey.

“Why do you want to eat food?” Hunter asked.

“It looks delicious,” Ally clapped her hands.

“Uhm… how do you plan on eating?” Hunter replied, trying not to laugh at how adorably oblivious she was being.

“I’ll suck it up from my intake tube. Like the motor oil,” Ally said, giving him an idea.

Hunter brought some potato chips, and held them on his hand. Ally looked at them curiously, tilting her head to the left.

“Mind putting them into my intake tube?”

A vacuum like tube suddenly emerged from her back, and Ally smiled.

Hunter chuckled and placed the chips in the tube, only for them to get sucked in.

“Chips… num num num… good! I like them!” Ally laughed and clapped.

Hunter really liked seeing Ally happy.

“HUNTER, CAN WE GO TO THE PARK?!” Ally yelled. Ally was tinkering with herself and accidentally switched the program a bit. As Hunter fixed her, she was now programmed to yell.

“Sure, you wanna go as something… maybe not as friends?” Hunter asked tentatively as he fixed a loose wire.

“AS ENEMIES?!”

“No, Ally… as partners,” Hunter corrected.

“AHH, I SEE!” Ally exclaimed, “TOTAL SHUTDOWN…”

Hunter realized he disconnected Ally. Whoops!
