"Kai?"
"Hm?" From where he sat, Kai turned around to face Damon. In a split second he started scrambling for words. Like a student who didn't prepare for a school presentation. Damon only stared, what even could be going on in his head?
"I-It's not what it looks like!"
"Pardon?" What even could this look like. Maybe Damon's too analytical but, Kai sitting there didn't seem like much. He usually wasn't this fidgetty, something about his hair being in his eyes? Feels a little counterintuitive, with wearing glasses, but what does he know.
"I'm—it's," Damon's been in a lot of debates. Researched many a topic. Picked a part and constructed countless arguements. For the life of him, he could not figure out what Kai is on about.
"Just spit it out, it's probably nothing."
"I wear glasses, okay! Its embarassing I know and I look ug—" Damon's assumption was correct. Whatever he could have possibly thought Kai was going to say, it wasn't this. Does his brain only work in Disney Channel movie clichés?
"It's not that big of a deal, you know. Plenty of people wear them. Shouldn't you wear them more? You're always complaining about your eyes hurting and it's clear why."
"B-But it's different, I'm supposed to maintain an image."
"That is.. not wearing glasses? That's stupid."
"Ok, so what! Alright I wear glasses and I look hideous!" Emotions don't follow rationale but Damon wishes they would now. Something in him wants to hit Kai with a whack-a-mole mallet.
"I didn't say that." Damon lets out a cough, and mutters underneath his breath, "if anything they look cute on you." He hopes Kai didn't hear that.
"Hey, could you repeat that?" Oh Damon's really in it now. He dug his grave and now it's time to lie in it.
"It's stupid to think that."
"I don't think thats what you said."
"Oh you meant the last bit. They look fine on you."
