Work Text:

Sound Burster, once a timid Noibat, was found abandoned as a baby in a ruined building near Millie Fitzsimmons’ old home. Millie, having survived the horrors of Count the Ways and grown fond of Funtime Freddy, came across the tiny Pokémon while trying to escape the chaos of her past. Seeing the young Noibat alone and vulnerable, Millie took her in, naming her Sound Burster after the destructive power of her sonic waves. She raised Sound Burster as her own, providing love and stability that the young Pokémon had never known. Over time, they grew inseparable, with Sound Burster quickly bonding with Millie, sensing her emotional turmoil after the trauma of her experiences with the animatronics.
As the pair traveled together, they encountered increasingly dangerous threats, culminating in a harrowing battle with the Stitchwraith. During the fight, Millie was severely injured, and for a split second, it seemed like she might not survive. This moment of near-loss triggered something within Sound Burster, who had always relied on Millie for protection and comfort. In that instant of fear, rage, and grief, her latent potential finally awakened. She evolved into Noivern, her body growing tall and imposing at 6’9” in height, a manifestation of the trauma and her desperate need to protect the only family she had ever known.
Now a fully evolved Noivern, Sound Burster stands as a towering, fierce protector for Millie. While she still struggles with the emotional scars of the past, her bond with Millie is unbreakable. She has become more than just a companion—she’s a guardian, using her amplified sonic abilities not only in battle but to defend Millie from the ghosts of their past, her voice carrying the weight of the pain and survival that shaped them both.
