"Guys, have you heard about a saying that if you're able to tie a cherry knot using your tongue, you're supposedly a good kisser?" Out of nowhere, for no reason at all, Han Noah broke the silence with a rather peculiar question. His friends' eyes landed on him, surprised.
They're currently in Yejun's house, just hanging out before they go back to work again tomorrow. They plan on drinking later that night, but one member seemed to be already intoxicated by the alcohol, judging by his nonsensical speaking.
"Noah-hyung, are you drunk?" Hamin retorted as he looked at the blonde with a deadpan expression.
"What— we're not even drinking yet!?"
"Exactly the reason why I'm asking."
Yejun suddenly laughed at the disbelieving face of Noah. "But I think I've heard of that belief before..." he says, carrying on the conversation with interest in his voice.
"But how does that prove anything, though?" the curious voice of Eunho suddenly asked, his brows furrowed in confusion. Out of all the members, this silver-haired male is prone to this new information. His whole existence is just pure, and you'll pity him sometimes for being confused.
"Aish, Do Eunho, you're too naive in this world. If you actually knotted a cherry stem using your tongue, then you're a good kisser!" Han Noah exclaimed, as if he's proving a point.
"And?"
"And then you have something to boast about!" Noah proudly exclaimed while the lost puppy tries to interpret everything this hyung has said.
Bamby shakes his head before looking at Noah. "Hyung, stop spouting nonsense, because this idiot will believe anything you say."
Slightly offended by the pink-haired male's remarks, Eunho hits Bamby's shoulders lightly while chewing his hamburger.
"He's right," Yejun added, remembering the time when Bamby told him that Eunho is a person who's easy to influence with. But Han Noah is someone who doesn't give up easily until everyone agrees with him.
"Aish, you all are so shallow. Should we try it right now??"
The four remaining members looked at each other, agreeing that they will never escape the oldest member's antics. Noah stood up and grabbed a box of cherries from the refrigerator. "How'd you know I have cherries there?" Yejun, the actual owner of the house, asked.
"We bought them together yesterday, Yejun-ssi."
"Ah, right."
Noah started first. He plopped the cherry in his mouth while the rest of the members watched him, eyes filled with curiosity. When a minute had already passed and Noah seemed to be struggling, judging by the way his pursed lips were moving in circles. "Don't stare at me; I'm getting nervous!" He cried. Yejun chuckles while Hamin sighs, mumbling something to himself like, "If you can't do it, just give up."
Probably because of boredom, that's why Yejun suddenly ate some cherries and started doing the thing too. He calmly tried to tie the cherry stems using his tongue and teeth, and just after a minute, he stuck out his tongue with the cherry stem knotted perfectly.
"Oh, Yejun-hyung did it!" Eunho exclaims. They all looked at the blue-haired and showered him with some praises, such as 'truly the no. 1 husband material' and stuff.
Meanwhile, Han Noah lies down on the floor, finally admitting his defeat. "AAAGH! I'm not a good kisser!" He grumbled, his lips curling down to his chin. Hamin laughed at him before a smirk erupted from his lips. Then his eyes went to look at the box of cherries in the middle
As if it were a competition, the two youngest members began to tie the cherry stem on their mouths too. Yejun happily cheers on them while Bamby sat there, quietly judging them.
His eyes unconsciously locked onto the silver-haired male beside him, his cheeks slightly puffed as he struggled to untie the stem in his mouth. What's this guy trying hard for? He thought to himself, eyebrows raised as he continued to watch the younger.
Then, just several minutes had passed, and a joyful voice followed. "Oh! I did it!" Eunho exclaimed as he stuck out his tongue. Bamby then held his chin to properly check the knotted stem in his mouth. The knot is not perfect, but he managed to tie it. A job well done.
Hamin also managed to do it just after Eunho, and both of them clapped in joy. Yejun happily clapped along for them, and Noah just looked at them—judging—as if he hadn't started this mess. "Yah, Eunho-ya, you shouldn't be a good kisser if I'm not."
They laughed at Noah's remarks and got Yejun to comfort him.
Eunho then turned to Bamby, offering him a piece of cherry. "Here, hyung, you try it too!"
"I don't want to." Bamby immediately replied, not even glancing at the cherry.
"Why?"
"Because I don't want to. Stop forcing me."
He felt the younger pouting before retreating his hand and the cherry. Bamby almost smiled. But he'll have to refuse because he already knows the outcome of doing that.
Matter of fact, Bamby was already aware of that belief even before. He read an article about how tying a cherry stem using only your tongue and teeth was once a bar trick done by men to impress women back then. It also demonstrates that the human tongue can perform in other areas such as kissing.
Of course, Bamby was curious if he's a good kisser. So he tried doing it, but after several attempts, he just can't tie it. It was so complicated that he wondered if people really tied it in knots.
Later on, he gave up and accepted his fate but still gaslighted himself that it's just a silly talk and no one beats the actual experience things.
Displeased by his the outcome, Bamby kept that information hidden from others, especially from his best friend. Why? He also doesn't know. But seeing how Eunho succeeded in tying the cherry stems into a knot without much effort, he became more restless.
Probably because he knows Eunho would tease him about it. Make fun of him until he's flushed red in annoyance and embarrassment.
And boy, he was right. Because days later, Bamby was caught attempting to tie a cherry stem once again in Eunho's apartment. He didn't know what had happened. When he saw the box of cherries sitting on Eunho's kitchen countertop, he absentmindedly plopped a piece into his mouth, and before he knew it, his tongue was already working on tying that damned stem.
"Hyung, look at me," Eunho said as he poked Bamby's cheeks, holding his laughter. "I'm sorry I laughed. You just looked adorable while trying to tie the cherry stem. Promise! I didn't laugh because you can't tie it—"
"Shut up! Get out now before I hit you." Bamby hid his face on the cushion, attempting to kick Eunho. The younger just cackled while prying his legs away.
"But hyung, this is my house."
Bamby glared at Eunho, who still had a stupid boyish grin on his face. Sometimes, he wanted to smack the hell out of this guy. He hates how confident Eunho is and how he looks cool even when he's just doing the bare minimum. The younger held his hands in the air as if he were ready to surrender. "Okay, okay. I'm sorry for laughing. Don't glare at me."
Eunho leaned on the sofa, his shoulder touching Bamby's, and with a huff, he spoke with his low, soothing voice.
"Hyung, it's alright if you can't tie a cherry stem. Don't be upset about it. You don't need to hide it from me either. We're best friends, aren't we?"
Something in Bamby's chest felt a bit heavier when Eunho stressed the word 'best friend' to him. It's true that they spent half of their lives in each other's company. They grew up still together, but Bamby knows deep in his heart that feeling something different for your supposed best friend is rather unavoidable. Especially if the person in question is indeed lovable.
He might look at him sometimes with a grimace, but that's all an act. Bamby knows what he truly feels. And maybe—just maybe, he'll be able to relay this feeling he's been keeping to himself for years.
"... it's not because I can't tie a cherry stem into a knot that I'm upset about." He started in a faint voice. He felt Eunho look at him with questioning eyes. "It's because if I'm given the chance to kiss the person I like, I don't want them to feel disappointed in me."
Not even the universe knows why Bambi blurted out that lame-ass reasoning. His mind was all over the place that he just blabbered those words without even thinking. If he just slips a little, he might have mentioned Eunho's name along with that reason.
"What!? You have someone you like!?" The younger exclaimed beside him. "How come I didn't know about this???"
Bamby sighs quietly. Ah yes, Eunho might be the most romantic being alive, but Bamby believes his skull is extra thickened to be this dense.
"It's because I didn't tell you... on purpose." Bamby just went along his own parade. He occasionally glances at Eunho just to see his reaction.
"I'm kinda sad," Eunho says, his head lowering a bit. But he suddenly turned to Bamby, "But, yeah, let's address your concern first!"
Whoa, he recovered fast. I wonder what his reaction will be when he learns he's the one I like. Bamby thought to himself.
"You said you didn't want to disappoint them..." the silver-haired male repeated what Bamby had said, his hand placed under his chin. "But, hyung, kissing isn't the only way to express your feelings, though."
"What if I really wanted to kiss that person?"
"Uh... that's hard." Bamby watched how Eunho's eyebrows furrowed, almost meeting each other by how hard he's thinking right now. And for some reason, Bamby finds it endearing. "Why do you want to kiss them in the first place..."
Do Eunho is lovable in his own way. He might be a little annoying sometimes, but his warm, kind heart will always be his charm point. His purity is one to count too.
That's why Bamby doesn't know what kind of spirit urged Eunho to say those words. "... Why don't you try practicing kissing, hyung?"
What? "Practice kissing?" Bamby repeats, as if he's mishearing the younger's suggestion. As he said, Eunho is an innocent person. He never expected that suggestion from him out of all people.
Eunho nodded, "Yeah. You looked like you really wanted to leave a good impression so bad. So I thought, what if you try kissing as a practice?"
"Then whose lips am I going to practice?" The question made the younger blink several times. So Bamby added, "Yours?"
It took at least one minute before Eunho could utter the simple words, "Yeah...?" He doesn't know if he's hallucinating, but Bamby swears he saw a glint of reddening on Eunho's ears as he said those words.
God, why is he adorable?
Bamby inhaled before answering, "Okay, then—"
"But if you're uncomfortable, you can use a pillow or something!" Eunho suddenly retorted, his eyes unfocused and a drop of sweat falling from his forehead. Bamby almost laughed seeing him all flustered, but he held back himself.
"Do I look like someone who would make out with a pillow?" Eunho stops before slowly shaking his head at Bamby's question. "Okay then lend me your lips."
Bamby faced Eunho as he removed the pillow on his lap. His magenta eyes staring into Eunho's, placing his own hands on the younger's face, cupping it. He likes Eunho, but doing this with the person you like is extremely nerve-wracking.
Just as their faces were inches away, Bamby frowns. "Eunho-ssi, shouldn't you hold me too?"
The younger flinches, not knowing where to put his large hands, so Bamby took them and placed them on his waist. "There." The older man says before putting his hands back on his face. "You ready?"
Eunho gulped as he nodded, the tip of his nose glistening with sweat as he closed his eyes. Bamby scanned the younger's face using his eyes while Eunho closed his eyes firmly, the tips of his ears reddening, which made Bamby smile before finally closing the gap between them.
The kiss started off with a slow rhythm. At first, they were a little stiff; both of them didn't know how to move their lips. I thought he was a good kisser, Bamby thought, but eventually his mind went blank as the kiss started to feel a little too good. Their mouths dance in sync after a while; Bamby felt Eunho slightly leaning in closer, then his head slightly shifting as his lips slotted to Bamby's perfectly.
A whimper almost escapes Bamby's mouth when Eunho's hands suddenly tighten their grip on his waist, his thumb pressing above his pelvic area that sends an electrifying shiver down his spine. "Mhmm..." he moans softly. He wanted more. He wanted to feel more.
"Hyung, you taste like cherries," the silver-haired male said as they pulled apart to catch their breaths. A saliva stringing from their lips as they gaze into each other with lust evident on their faces.
Bamby huffs, his face all red from the making out, "Well, of course I did ate some cherries."
"Right." Eunho chuckles, boyish grin sporting on him before claiming Bamby's lips once again. The gracious kiss from earlier has now turned into a heated mess when he felt Eunho's hands pulling him from the sofa to straddle on his lap. Bamby almost let out a yelp because of the younger's action, but they were too focused on tasting each other.
Bamby felt the younger's hand slowly exploring on his back, the touch making him tremble in pleasure. His small hand then made its way to Eunho's silver locks, pulling it slightly whenever Eunho bit his lips. Their tongues intertwined, licking each other, and Bamby felt his nipples getting numb. The kiss is too intoxicating.
Is this how kissing really feels?
Eunho pulled his body closer to his own. His mind is now clouded with lust and desire as he listened to how beautiful Bamby's moans sound to his ears. His lips then left Bamby's rosy ones to leave wet trails from his chin to the sensitive side of his neck. The older moaned in pleasure as he threw his head back while Eunho sucked the apple on his throat, licking upwards then sucking again. "Ah, Eun-Eunho..."
Everything is too overwhelming. The promised make out session seemed to be extending to much deeper intimacy because neither of them has plans to stop. Eunho's lips went further down to Bamby's collarbones, leaving marks before going back to the older's parted lips again.
"Nghh—Fuck!" Bamby swears against Eunho's lips when he feels a pair of warm hands inside his shirt, roaming around on his skin freely. "Eunho—" he calls his name against their lips. Their breaths mingle as they fight for dominance using their lips and tongues. Their kiss going frantic, as if they're running out of time. They didn't mind the drool and how messy it's getting as long as they taste each other.
And finally they parted. With a saliva stringing between their lips, both faces were red from the heat, messy hair and eyes glazed with pleasure.
The younger male brought Bamby closer to him, embracing him tightly, his hands caressing gently on his back. Bamby buried his face in Eunho's neck, inhaling his intoxicating scent that brings him a sense of comfort. Neither of them dared to break the silence.
Eunho stares at the ceiling, still can't believe what had happened when Bamby suddenly pulled apart. His eyes met Eunho's widened ones before speaking, "So," Bamby clears his throat, "Did I leave a good impression?"
Eunho blinked several times, his mouth gaping like a fish, his brain still processing what Bamby might've meant. The older male laughed in amusement as he watched Eunho's eyes go impossibly wide again, the realization finally hitting him, "EH!?"
"YOU'RE SO SLOW!"
"Wait—wha—WHAT!?" Eunho's voice and eyebrows raised in total confusion. "M-ME!?"
Bamby immediately got off from his lap, still laughing messily, "I don't know, maybe I'll tell you. If you catch me, that is," his voice teasing, taunting before running away from the younger male.
Eunho's mind was overstimulated by the information that his body stiffened on the sofa. But he cannot let the shorter male get away, so he ran after him, "Hyung, am I the one you like?? Wait for me!"
Bamby just replied with a laugh when Eunho caught him in his arms, whining to his hyung, before claiming his lips once again, ending the day with good kisses that will probably last longer than earlier.
