Hi, I'm Sonic. When I was a kid, I thought I had it all. Good friends, Longclaw, all the food I could have. Longclaw was like Obi-wan Kanobe but if he wasn't a Jedi or had the force and if he wasn't human and didn't eat mice now that I think about it that wasn't a good comparison I did not know that the puny hedgehog can think Knuckles you’re not in this movie I mean story anyway, I was born with incredible powers I can run super fast like really fast. Tom (you’ll meet him later) told me I could run up to mock speeds. I don't get why you would mock speeds. But that's not important. Let's get back to the story. Longclaw told me not to use it, but she never explained why.
I remember that day like it was yesterday. I was annoyed and frustrated over who knows what. I walked out of the village I was in and started to pick up speed till I eventually started running. I was so fast, the sound of the dirt beneath my feet and the wind in my quills, it felt… freeing. I was able to run from Longclaw's tree village to the top of a mountain. On the beautiful peak, I saw Longclaw's favorite flower, picked it, and ran back to the house. I curled up into a ball on the bridge, which I thought was awesome then.
I was doing something before that made me mad, but I think -what was it called?- Adrenaline made me so excited that I forgot. I accidentally bumped into Longclaw, causing her to wake up, but she was probably already awake, or she wouldn’t have woken up so quickly. “Sorry for waking you up, Longclaw," I signed. "I got you this, though.” Her face went from a slight look of worry to ‘Sonic, what did you do?’. “Sonic, were you running in the open?” I nodded and put the flower back in my quills. “Sonic, you could have been seen,” she said, using her ‘scolding face.’ “I’m fine, Longclaw. I was way too fast to be seen. But…,” I pause, thinking about what to sign next. “Why is it so bad if I get spotted?” In the moment, I was thinking, 'I don’t get it, why can’t I run free like that? Why can’t I show Amy or Tails? Why can’t I just run free? I think Miss. Vanilla and Rouge would think that it's co-.'
An arrow crashed through the window, grazing her wing. I looked over and saw a red Echidna. ‘He looks like the red echidna I saw while run-’ “Sonic, take this.” She handed me a box and her bag of rings. “Remember Sonic, I love you, remember this,” she threw a Big Ring. A portal opened, showing a beautiful forest. As this was happening, a barrage of arrows was raining down. Wait, what I thought as she quickly threw me. “ Never stop running.” I tried to run and reach the portal, but I tripped on a rock, causing me to fall. I didn't make it in time. "Longclaw," I cried as the portal closed. I opened the bag of big rings, and a map with a note fell out. The note said: ‘Sonic, if you're reading, then something grave happened to me on this map. The location of a safe mushroom world. In case you get spotted on Earth, remember I love you, Longclaw. After reading it, I opened the box she gave me, it was a pair of red running shoes. Sadly, I sat there putting my new shoes on.
