Work Text:
Just like any other day, Lucas came by to Matias’s house to have dinner. They were both in the kitchen, cooking, when a very enthusiastic Fernanda came running in the room. ‘’Dad!’’ She comes up to him with two lipsticks in her hands, Gabi standing right behind her. ‘’Today after classes, I went with my friends to get new ones… and I need someone to try it on’’ Lucas looks at Matias as he smiles, making his stomach flutter. He always loved seeing him act with his daughters so lovingly. Lost in his thoughts, Matias brings him back down to Earth when he says his name ‘’sure… Lucas. can you clean this for me?’’ He points to the knife and then follows the two girls giggling.
Lucas does as he’s told, he cleans some dirty dishes and focuses on cooking what he can, waiting for Matias to come back. A few minutes later, he hears footsteps that take his attention away from the food. He looks up to see Matias with a dark red lipstick perfectly applied. His heart jumps as he sees the other man. It fits him so well. Lucas gets closer, his eyes continuously shifting back to his lips. ‘’They told me you’re next, so you better go’’ Matias tells him. Still focused on the lipstick, Lucas only nods and walks out of the kitchen.
He finds the girl excitedly waiting for him. ‘’Sit, sit’’ Gabi says and gestures towards the chair. This was the first time in 15 years that Lucas ever had to wear lipstick. He wasn’t used to the texture anymore, so it’s not a surprise when it’s hard for him to stay still in the chair while Fernanda is applying the lipstick. He squirms at the touch of the brush, which quickly gets him reprimanded by Fernanda. She wants it to be perfect.
After what feels like an eternity, Fernanda announces that she is done with the application. He smiles and thanks her for her work. Both of the girls smile back at him, their eyes filled with joy and what looks like mischievousness. He doesn’t pay it much attention as he makes his way back to the kitchen.
Lucas sees Matias, he takes some time to look at him before making any noise. He always looks so cute when he’s focused. No matter what thing he’s doing, he always puts so much care into it, furrowing his brows. It’s cute. After a few seconds, Lucas clears his throat, announcing his presence. Matias looks up, a little smile creeps up in the corner of his mouth and he just goes back to cutting the vegetables in front of him.
Lucas wants to say he’s surprised by his reaction, but he had anticipated it. If Matias wants to play this, fine, he’ll bite. Without a word, Lucas goes back to cutting up the meat on the other side of the counter. As hard as he tried, the occultist couldn’t keep his eyes away from Matias and his lips, that damn lipstick.
After a while, some tension started to grow between them. Lucas wanted to be even closer to him. Instead of staying on his side, he walks up to Matias and steals his cutting board right under his nose. The detective turns around and places a hand on his waist, trying to look annoyed. ‘’That lipstick really suits you’’ Lucas says while waving in Matias’ face his stolen cutting board with a smirk.
‘’I was using that’’
‘’I know’’ Lucas says, his answer challenging him, waiting for the others' reaction.
Matias chuckles and his hand reaches for Lucas’ shoulder, sending a jolt of electricity through it. His hand slowly makes its way to his neck. Lucas leaned in to the touch, enjoying the physical contact. They were both facing each other, Matias steadily moving the occultist’s head closer to his. They locked eyes and slowly Lucas’ gaze shifted to his lips. ‘’Enjoy then’’ Matias says breaking the spell ‘’the carrot is not going to cut itself’’ He lets go of his neck, giving him a little nudge and dropping the vegetable on his cutting board. Lucas swears under his breath. He sees a grin on Matias’ face as he turns around ‘’I hope you are quick enough to not let the onions burn in the pot’’ he says to add insult to injury.
The food finally ready, Matias turns off the stove, letting it cool down before calling the girls down for dinner. Lucas, still looking at him, the detective takes his wrist and pulls him towards the bathroom ‘’I need to talk with you’’.
‘’What’s up?’’ Lucas asks as Matias locks the door.
‘’Your lipstick is smudged’’ confused, Lucas looks at himself in the mirror and quickly starts to understand what is about to happen. ‘’oh yeah?’’ he answers stepping forward ‘’Can you fix it?’’ He says looking hungrily into Matias’ eye and back down to his lips.
Matias leans forward, their lips finally colliding after all this time. It’s hard for Lucas to keep a slow pace as he starts to run his hand through Matias’ hair. He’s been waiting all day to kiss Matias and he’s making everyone second worth it. Slowly, he backs Matias against the counter. His hands leaving his hair to go grab his ass. Lucas lifts him up on the countertop. Matias lets out a small yelp in surprise.
‘’fuck I love that lipstick’’ Lucas says looking into the other man’s eyes before kissing him again, hungrily. Matias’ hands slips under his shirt, exploring his abdomen up to his chest and going down again to pull Lucas’ belt loop to connect their hips. The occultist groans at the contact and rocks his hip forward, Matias following his movement.
After another few minutes of this back and forth between the two, Matias breaks their kiss and rests his hands on Lucas’ shoulder, their foreheads still touching ‘’dinner’’ he says out of breath.
‘’Shit you’re right’’ Lucas says as he reluctantly pulls away and lifts up his head. That’s when he sees himself in the mirror; the lipstick has smeared everywhere. He looks back at Matias, relaxing on the counter, to see that the same had happened to him, it was like a toddler had scribbled all over their faces.
Lucas can’t help but chuckle ‘’we can’t go out like this’’. Matias’ eyes go wide as he notices the mess on their face ‘’fuck’’ he mumbles as he gets off the countertop and looks for the makeup remover. ‘’How are we going to explain this?’’ Lucas says as he is brought back to reality. Matias walks up to him and carefully starts to remove the lipstick off of his face ‘’with Gabi, it’s not a big deal, it’s easy’’ he starts saying as he concentrates to clean everything off. Lucas’ hands drift down to his waist ‘’the problem is Fernanda, she is not easy to lie to’’ he finishes cleaning Lucas’s face and now starts to do his ‘’go to talk to them, if they ask for me, just say I had to go to the bathroom’’
Lucas leaves the bathroom, leaving Matias to clean himself up alone. He closes the door behind him and starts to head back to the kitchen, wondering how the hell he is going to explain himself to the girls. Even with his mind running at one hundred percent trying to come up with a good lie, Lucas can’t help but to giggle. He can’t believe all the sneaking around they had been doing and how much he loved it. As he’s calling the girls down for dinner, he can’t help but to smile wide.
