The alpha was startled awake by knocking at his door. He thought it was a mistake at first since he hadn't buzzed anyone in the building but the knocking didn't let up. Sighing he got up and threw on some pants not bothering to put on a shirt before opening the door.
“Sihtric” Leofric said surprised. “What are you doing here?”
“Can I stay here tonight” the young omega pleaded.
Leofric knew he shouldn't, the boy was only sixteen, but he also had a soulbond with him, Finan, and Uhtred that had the alpha helping his future mates whenever they needed him. He could sense Sihtric was upset and scared and so stepped aside to let him in.
“Wouldn't you rather stay with Uhtred” Leofric asked.
“Him and Ragnar don't get back till tomorrow” Sihtric mumbled.
Fuck, he was tired he'd completely forgotten that. Uhtred had been very upset at not being able to take Sihtric with them on vacation. But Sihtric was still a minor and his bastard father would have probably gotten Uhtred and Ragnar arrested for kidnapping or something. Leofric had yet to meet the man which was honestly for the best given how badly he wanted to kill him for the way he treated Sihtric. Hell most of the time he slept over at Uhtred's house anyway, but every so often his father would threaten to do something to Uhtred if Sihtric didn't come home.
“And before you ask, Fin is working a late shift tonight, I…I didn't have anywhere else to go.”
Leofric knew that that wasn't entirely true, Sihtric had a few other friends but he knew he felt safest with him over any of them, he was his alpha. “You're always welcome here, Sihtric” Leofric said softly.
“Really?”
“I know I still keep you and even Uhtred at a distance but that's only to protect you, but if you ever feel threatened or scared then you either come here or call me and I will come get you” Leofric explained seriously.
“Thank you Alpha” Sihtric murmured before wrapping his arms around Leofric in a tight hug. The alpha let the young omega breathe in his scent and he slowly felt him calm down and then he noticed a different scent.
“Sihtric” Leofric growled in warning.
“I'm sorry Leo, I can't help it, I just love your scent, it makes me feel safe and loved” Sihtric whined defensively.
Leofric rolled his eyes, what had he done to get three young mates? Well future mates anyway, he knew he could bite Finan (who despite being an alpha really liked the idea of getting bit and bitting Leofric in return) and in a couple more weeks Uhtred, but he wanted to wait so Sihtric didn't feel left out. “That's because you are safe and loved” the alpha reassured, which caused Sihtric to moan.
“I swear I didn't mean to do that!”
“Yes you did” Leofric snapped, though there was no real anger in his voice. “Fuck your worse than Uhtred sometimes.”
“I am not,” Sihtric exclaimed.
“Oh yes you are” Leofric chuckled, “you may not voice all your thoughts but don't think I can't feel when you're aroused or thinking about me, we share a soulbond remember.”
Leofric watched a look of pure mortification appear on the young omega's face, and then turned bright red. “I…I thought you closed off the soulbond most of the time because of our age?”
“I do,” Leofric admitted. It wasn't easy or pleasant but it needed to be done.
“You were bluffing,” Sihtric asked, sounding hurt.
Shit now he felt bad. “I was just trying to get your mind off…and you're doing the same thing to me aren't you?”
The omega just grinned at him, mischief alight in his mismatched eyes. Yeah sometimes the boy was worse then Uhtred, the other omega had definitely been a bad influence on him. Leofric couldn't help but let out a yawn.
“We should really get to sleep,” Leofric sighed. He was grateful tomorrow was the weekend.
“You want us to go to bed” Sihtric asked.
“That's usually where one sleeps,” Leofric smirked.
“Yeah but you never let any of us sleep with you” Sihtric pointed out.
“What” Leofric asked in shock.
“Last I remember you only have the one bedroom with the one bed.”
“I'll sleep on the couch,” Leofric said tiredly.
“But you barely fit lying down on it, couldn't we just sleep in your bed together?”
The alpha fixed the omega with a sharp look but then Sihtric fixed him with his sad puppy dog eyes and Leofric felt his resolve wavering.
“Please Alpha I just want to curl up with you and sleep nothing else, I just want to feel cared for.” The omega used his softest voice and really Leofric had no choice but to agree.
“You didn't bring anything to sleep in did you?” Leofric asked, eyeing the backpack Sihtric had brought.
“No, most of my clothes are at Uhtred's anyways.”
“I’ll, lend you some of mine to sleep in” Leofric sighed as Sihtric followed him down the hall to his bedroom.
“That’s not necessary,” Sihtric said blushing.
“Oh it's very necessary.”
“That’s not fair, your not wearing a shirt” Sihtric whined.
“I'll put one on.”
Sihtric let out a series of whines at that. “Do you really have to?”
Leofric crossed his arms staring at the young omega, did he really think this was a negotiation?
“Come on Leo I've seen you without a shirt loads of times” Sihtric complained. “I'll wear a shirt if you stay out of one.”
“Boy this isn't a negotiation” Leofric growled.
“I know you hate wearing clothes to bed and I'm the same, can't we both just be half dressed?”
Leofric sighed in frustration, but he could tell that Sihtric really was bothered by the thought of wearing clothes to bed so agreed that Sihtric could stay in just his boxers if he wore a shirt, and Leofric would just stay in his sweatpants. He knew the omega wasn't thrilled at that but Sihtric knew that was the best offer he was going to get so agreed. He knew it wasn't a good idea to cuddle but his alpha instincts were telling him that Sihtric really needed to be comforted so he didn't push the boy away when he wrapped himself around him. It was nice, most of the time Leofric told himself he was fine on his own but in truth he struggled not being able to hold any of them close like this and sleep in the same bed. Sihtric was so happy and relaxed that he started purring, a sound Leofric had only heard the omega make once before. He wrapped his arms around the boy and pulled him closer.
“Goodnight Sweetheart, you're always safe and loved with us” Leofric whispered before being lulled to sleep by the omega's purrs.
