Angels In The Snow

Summary:

Baby Cheonhee and Jaegal Lin enjoy some time in the snow.

A short ficlet.

Work Text:

Jin Cheonhee had been bundled up into a ball, wearing the warmest fur coat that even had a hood on top. Jaegal Lin had bought it, custom made for his baby.

The two of them were out in the snow, surrounded by painters on all sides, and Jaegal gently settled Cheonhee on the snow and let him sit down.

Baby Cheonhee cooed, giggling as he shifted on his seat and grabbed a handful of snow.

“Cold,” baby Cheonhee muttered, frowning a little and pursing his lips, squeezing the snow and getting used to the texture before smiling again.

Jaegal Lin smiled and patted Cheonhee's head, enjoying every moment with his baby.

After a while, Jaegal Lin spoke up.

“Hee, what do you think of making snow angels?” He suggested.

“Sno, angwels?” Baby Cheonhee copied him, tilting his head.

“Yes baby, come on, let me show you how,” Jaegal Lin said.

Sitting on the cold surface, Jaegal laid down and began moving his arms and legs, creating an angel figure on the snow.

Jaegal sat up and watched as baby Cheonhee copied his movements, laying down on the snow, laughing at how cold it was, and then waving his arms and legs cheerfully.

Jaegal laughed at his baby's antics, relishing the smile on Hee’s face as the snow angel shape began to form.

After a while, Cheonhee seemed tired and struggled to sit up.

“Do you want to see the snow angel you made, Cheonhee?” Jaegal asked, prompting his baby to nod happily.

“Alright baby, come on,” he said as he lifted Cheonhee up and held his baby snugly in his arms.

When Cheonhee saw the shape of the angel, he began to laugh and clap his hands excitedly.

“Sno! An-gel!” Cheonhee cooed.

“That's right baby!” Jaegal grinned, “you made a snow angel!”

“Mashter,” Cheonhee said, pointing at the large snow angel and grinning.

“Yes baby,” Jaegal nodded indulgently.

“Master,” Cheonhee muttered again, “and! Hee!” He exclaimed as he pointed at the other snow angel.

Jaegal couldn't stop grinning at Cheonhee's words.

“That's right, there's Master and Hee,” he reassured.

“To-gether?” Cheonhee asked, wide eyed as he looked at Jaegal.

“Always,” Jaegal promised.

As Jaegal Lin returned to the clinic with his baby in his arms, he left behind two snow angels on the ground, one big and one small, facing the world together.
