Work Text:
Mitsuba doesn’t really know anything about who he was.
But then again, that’s not really him.
He’s not the real Mitsuba Sousuke.
He knows that.
But he’s reminded of where he came from every time he hides his hand with his sweater.
He’s missing a few fingers.
He has a scar on his neck.
He hides it.
He doesn’t want to think about it.
He’s not really pretty.
He’s not cute like this.
Broken.
More worthless than a lifeless corpse.
He’s a creation of Tsukasa’s.
He eats supernaturals.
And humans.
He gets so hungry.
So, so hungry.
So he kills something, and devours its heart.
He promises himself he’ll never do it again.
But then he gets hungry again.
The hunger is a pain that can never be satisfied.
He’s never going to be human.
So that’s why he asked Kou to exorcise him.
He only brings pain.
Nobody even remembers him.
But Kou didn’t care for some reason.
He didn’t want to exorcise him.
Honestly?
Mitsuba can’t understand.
He still can’t.
But he’s here now.
Both of them.
It’s the school festival.
The night’s cover obscures everything just enough to make what he’s about to do next justified.
It was just an impulse.
He presses his lips to Kou’s.
He’s never going to love him.
But when he pulls away, Kou isn’t looking at him like he’s a freak.
Kou looks at him with a face words can’t describe.
But if he had to pick a word?
It’d be just love.
When Kou wordlessly pulls him in for another kiss, he realizes he’s worth something.
He’ll stay in this world just as long as he can be with Kou.
