Summary
With Jacob there were expectations. A silent, obedient wife who will not be the last one for her husband to take. A mother of many, born dead or alive, that would fill her womb with every passing season.
The expectations had been branded into her skin until they welted up red. They had been carved deep into her bones, poisoning the marrow and hollowing her out.
