Chapter 1: What does the principal want from me?

Chapter Text

Having a falling out with your best friend is weird.

You’d mourn your friendship with guilt, despair, hatred, love, or whatever feeling you had for the person.

And maybe that wasn’t the case for Midoriya Izuku.

But it certainly was for Bakugou Katsuki.

An incredible boy. Someone with brains for miles, extremely talented in many different sports. Confident. Attractive.

Picture perfect person on paper.

But if you knew him, you’d know that he was far from perfect.

Telling someone to take a swan dive off a roof because they were just a bit weaker than you is anything but perfect.

He’d never tell a single living, breathing soul what he did to Midoriya Izuku in middle school.

It’d go with him to his grave if he needed to.

He didn’t really have to worry about seeing Izuku though.

He hasn’t for years. So he shouldn’t feel so on edge all the time, right?

“Hey, Izu’!” Camie, one of Izuku’s classmates.

Shiketzu, the school they attend, is one of the most notable schools in Japan.

Izuku tilted his chin up, granting the ability to see over the brim of his hat.

“Oh, Hello Camie-chan! Are you headed to the cafeteria as well?” Izuku was polite, nice and respectful to everyone.

“Yup!” Camie was bubbly, her personality matched her features.

She had long blonde hair and soft, piercing eyes.

She was always kind to Izuku.

“Ugh, Izuuu! I’m bored!!” She drug on words dramatically.

“How about studying for that upcoming exam you have?” His tone was very matter-of-fact.

“Ooh! We should go out!”

“Where?”

“A party!”

“Who’s hosting a party?”

“..Hm, I don’t know.”

Izuku looked at her with ‘Are you serious?’ plastered on his face.

“What’s that looks for?!” Camie got close to Izukus's face to ‘examine’ him.

“Nothing!.. Just that. I think it’s a bit risky.”

“How? It’s just a party!”

“.. I think I’m just gonna study. Have fun at that party.” Izuku stood, picking up his tray and throwing away his trash. His face remained straight and his voice monotoned.

Camie watched as he walked out of her view.

She sighed, blinking hard and walked to another table to meet her friends.

Izuku wandered the halls of his school, deep in thought.

He wasn’t thinking about anything in particular.

He muttered, like a waterfall.

All of his thoughts spilling into existence.

If anything, you’d think he’d be insane.

He didn’t bother to check his surroundings before spacing out so unfortunately a certain someone saw him and thought to say hello.

“If it isn’t the infamous Midoriya Izuku-kun!” The boys voice was loud and confident. If you didn’t know him, you’d probably think he was out for blood.

His face was stern but he kept a small smile to display friendliness.

“Eh? Oh, Inasa-kun. Hello!” Izuku was startled but quickly became relieved when he noticed his friend.

“What’cha talking about? Your mumbling somethin’.”

“Are you being serious? Did he have to bring that up?.. C‘mom Izuku! Say something!” Izuku cursed himself for not noticing who was around. Not to mention he wanted to crawl in a hole and never come out.

“Oh! Er.. Yeah! I- Uh.. I was thinking about my next class!”

Inasa stalled a bit and then cheerfully changed the subject.

“Before i forget, the principal wanted me to tell you to visit his office by the end of the day!”

Izuku’s face turned with confusion and unease.

“..Why?” Izuku’s voice hinted a bit of wariness.

“Don’t know!”

Izuku was unsure if he wanted to go.

It’s the principle for gosh’s sake! He shouldn’t be so afraid and nervous.

But somewhere deep in his gut, was saying not to.

He didn’t listen to it though. He followed his brain. Using his intellect rather than his instinct.

“Uhm.. Yeah, okay. Well i have to get to class.. See you Inasa!”

He didn’t look at the taller boy.

Izuku swiftly turned and walked away.

“Oh. Okay! Bye Izu’!”
