In the bustling village of Encanto, it's the day before the youngest member of the Madrigal family's birthday.
Everyone is in a delightfully cheerful mood, helping to prepare Casita for the big ceremony as they wait for young Mirabel to get her door tomorrow evening. But, it was as they were setting up decorations, a tremor shook through the village before a bright light descended upon them.
Slowly coming to, Abuela wakes up to assess their surroundings, only finding a large box thing, snack tables around the perimeter of the room, rows of seats, and every resident of her precious Encanto.
"What is the meaning of this!?" Abuela asks, watching as the rest slowly wake. "Mama? What happened? Where are we?" she hears Julieta ask as she gathers her family, Pepa doing the same with a steadily growing cloud. Mirabel clings closely to Dolores who's looking at everything warily, while Camilo looks at the snacks with excitement.
Bruno's hidden from view, frowning because he didn't see anything like this happening in his visions, and also because the villagers think of him as a plague.
Once everyone is awake, a note drops from the ceiling in front of Isabela. Taking it, Isa reads it out loud.
"Greetings residents of the Encanto. You have all been brought here to watch the future of the Madrigal family. More specifically, an insight of little Mirabel Madrigal after tomorrow evening will decide her life journey. I have brought you here to watch these moving portraits as a way to prevent this future from happening, and for all of you to see the error in your ways."
The villagers look around in either annoyance or interest, while the younger ones look on in excitement. "There are snacks placed around the room for your enjoyment. Names have been placed on each seat, so please follow the seating as that will be your seat for the rest of the viewing. Once everyone takes their seat, along with some refreshments, the viewing will begin." Isabela continues.
As everyone disperses either to a snack table or their seat, Abuela looks on in shock. 'Is there something wrong with the miracle? We're specifically watching Mirabel. Does the future somehow have to do with her gift?' Abuela thinks to herself. Luisa brings her to her assigned seat in a trance.
Now that everyone is seated and comfortable, the viewing comes to life, much to the shock and astonishment of the crowd.
