Work Text:

Arima Kana did not like Kurokawa Akane.

It wasn’t really a secret; pissed-off posts and semi-public spats made it closer to common knowledge than classified info.

As for her reason why she was currently sharing a bed with the starry blue-haired actress, both of them very sore and very naked? Well, it was clearly nothing more than a strategic ploy to gain an upper hand in the vicious world of the acting industry. A ploy that she simply did not have the time to explain.

Turning her head to her right, she was immediately reminded why she definitely did not like Kurokawa Akane.

All soft skin and gentle demeanor, even when asleep. The corners of her lips ever-so-slightly curled upwards, distinctly satisfied. That hint of a smile flooded Kana with an unnamable rage, her undeniably pretty face furthering her flush. The annoyingly effortless way her hair perfectly accentuated her features, even before dawn, unfair and beautiful in equal parts. Shifting her gaze downward, she was hit with yet another stark reminder of why she couldn’t stand Akane Kurokawa. Her more-than-modest bust had always been a point of jealousy for Kana.

Jealousy. Surely that's what she feels towards Akane Kurokawa, what Kana feels crawling through her gut whenever she sees her with Aqua. The queasy fluttering in her stomach every time laid eyes on her fellow actress’ beaming smile could be nothing else other than ugly envy suffocating her system. Jealousy was most definitely why she stared at the girl(‘s chest) whenever she wasn't looking.

Yes, that had to be it. Jealousy had to be why she was so enamored with her.

Jealousy doesn't explain her “strategic ploy” to get them in bed together, however.

Before Kana could even begin to ponder on an explanation to this puzzling conflict of interest, her musings were interrupted by Akane beginning to stir, her eyes blinking away remnants of sleep.

And just like that, all thoughts left Arima Kana's head, and along with them, any remaining bits of her denial. Looking into those brilliantly blue eyes, one could be transfixed in moments, drawn in and entranced by their depth, staring as time slips by. Kana likely would’ve indulged in exactly that, were it not for Akane tenderly raising an arm to the back of her head, pulling Kana closer to where she laid to plant a touching, tranquil kiss on her forehead.

The gesture brought a swirl of emotions. A childish rush of giddiness, first of all, but after that, a strange melancholy settled on Kana’s shoulders. A growing, gloomy sense that this feeling of closeness would end just as soon as it began. But Kana refused to sit idly by as the moment slipped through her fingers like sand. Shuffling closer, she snaked her arms under and around Akane’s torso, burying her face in her chest.

Akane giggled, quiet and domestic, for Kana’s ears only. It was nothing like the melodic, girlish and gorgeous laugh she does on film, but Kana finds that she likes those imperfections. A fact which reinforces what Kana already knew: she’d die before she let her go. Akane pressed her lips, sweet and docile atop Kana's head. They were quickly followed by several more. They stayed like that for a long while, pressed close and intimate under the plush blankets.

Arima Kana loved Kurokawa Akane.
