Our story begins in New York City. Now, this city was known for strange things such as mutants and thugs roaming the streets. However, since Ladybug and Cat Noir's visit crime has been lower than ever. . .until tonight, that is.
Somewhere downtown, there was a huge explosion and alarms going off. Coming out of the building were 4 thugs who called themselves The Purple Dragons, the members are Dong, Sid, Tsoi, and Hun.
As the thugs walked out of the building, the bystanders were running off and screaming in fear as they noticed that the group had a purple Chinese dragon with them. This was thanks to powers that the group had been given by a mysterious new villain that goes by the name of Chrystalis.
"Man, there's quite a bounty on this box." Fong said, looking at the box in question. It was shaped like a regular box however, it was covered in intricate designs. "Whatever this is I really hope it's worth it."
"Oh it'd be worth it." Hun said with an evil smirk on his face. "The boss said She'd reward us greatly if we brought the box to her."
"But what is even in here?" Sid asked as he poked at the box curiously. "Why don't we just keep it? Maybe pawn off whatever it is?"
"Are you insane?" Fong asked. "We can't disobey Chrysalis, they'll kill us!"
"They won't kill us, they'll just be extremely disappointed and take out powers away." Hun said as a matter of factly. "Which is why we better hurry before those pesty turtles find out and try to stop us."
Suddenly, as if right on cue, the purple Dragons were ambushed by a teenage girl who was wearing a super suite that resembled a bald eagle. Her name is Eagle, she one of many heroes in the Big Apple. Currently, she is fighting alongside a hero known as kightowl.
"Stop right there, villains!" Eagle said heroically as she got into a battle stance. "Where do you think you're going with that?"
"Who the hell are you? A child and an old lady in some silly costumes?" Hun asked with a chuckle in disbelief. "Oh please, You guys aren't even worth my time."
As he said that, Hun snapped his fingers and the dragon attacked. Luckily, Eagle and Kightowl were able to hold their own pretty well.
"They're akumatized! They've got to be!" Eagle said seriously as she dodged the attacks from the dragon. "This is a job for Ladybug!"
"But Ladybug defeated Monarch." Knightowl said before punching the dragon in the nose causing it to briefly retreat. "How can that be possible? Wait. . .unless. . ."
Before she could say anything, the dragon suddenly attacked again as it pounced and bit down on Knightowl's shoulder as she cried out in pain.
"Knightowl!" Eagle shouted, running up to the heroes side. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'll be fine." Knightowl said, wincing in pain while holding her shoulder to slowdown the bleeding. "We can't stop them, we have to contact the Paris heroes."
"But. . ." Eagle started to protest before the dragon came lunging for her as well. Luckily, she was able to move out of the way in time. "You're right, I'll contact Ladybug, after I get that box away from them!"
As she said that, Eagle managed to get on last hit at the dragon finally subduing it for a brief moment. "Ugh, pathetic child! Fong, Sid, Tsoi, take the box." Hun said seriously. "I'll handle the girl."
"I don't think so." Eagle said with a sly smirk. "Liberation!"
Right as she said that, Eagle put her hand on Kightowl who suddenly had a burst of energy as she fought the thug with ease. Almost like she was running on pure adrenaline, but it was only the power of the Eagle miraculous.
Knightowl was able to take down the thugs in no time at all. "Cool down." Eagle said as the effect of her power wore off and Knightowl was calm and back to being in pain. "Sorry, Knightowl."
"No, it's fine thank you for the boost." Knightowl smiled while holding her shoulder. "Now find that akuma."
Eagle nodded as she ran up to the thugs to try and find the akumatized object. However, the akuma was nowhere to be found and neither was the dragon.
"Shit! Their power was taken back." Eagle said to herself before suddenly hearing a beeping coming from her necklace. This ment that she's going to transform back. "That's fine, what matters is that you guys are stopped. And I'll be taking that, thank you very much."
Eagle grabbed the box, helped Knightowl to her feet, and they both ran off into the night while of course leaving the thugs tied up for the police.
Once they found a hiding spot, Eagle suddenly transformed back into her civilian form. She has black hair braided at the sides, and wrapped in leather, gray eyes, and was wearing red white and blue round beadwork earrings, a white long-sleeved shirt with red sleeves, jeans, and brown high-heeled boots. Her name is Jessica Keynes or Jess for short.
"Mom, are you okay?" Jess asked in concern for the superhero who just so happen to be her mother as well. "That injury doesn't look too good."
"I'll be fine, the bleeding stopped." Knightowl said, still slightly in pain. "Did you get the box?"
Jess nodded as she showed the bright blue box to the owl hero. "What do you think it is?" She asked. "Another one of those miraculous boxes?"
"Miracle box." Knightowl corrected. "And yes, I'm almost curtian that's what it is."
"Should we tell Ladybug so she can find the proper guardian?" Jess asked as she handed the box to her mother, who took it carefully and opened it up.
"I don't think that's necessary." Knightowl explained as she held up a note. "This was left in it, possibly by the box's original guardian."
To whom it may concern,
These jewels have caused me nothing but trouble. I have been found out so I had no choice but to renounce my miraculous and choose a new guardian. However, I had no one to pass this torch on to so I had to hide the box and myself in order to keep the world safe. If you found this, that can only mean on thing. . .chaos will soon follow and you must find two heroes to save us all. The hero of War and Strategy and the hero of love and companionship. But be warned, the jewels are rather. . .mischievous and the heroes don't usually get along. Please do whatever you can to keep these out of the wrong hands.

"Wow, that's a lot to take in." Jess said as she took a deep breath before rubbing the back of her neck. "But which jewels where they talking about? There's nine of them!"
Right as she said that, 2 of the jewels started to glow. They were rings, one of them glowed a bright orange and the other one blue. "Ah!" Jess exclaimed as she watched the rings glow before suddenly levitating in the air. "What's happening?!"
"Maybe the miraculous are going to choose their holders!" Knightowl exclaimed as she stood up to chase after the rings. "Come on, we can't lose them!"
"Lirri, Wings of Liberty!" Jess said as she transformed back into Eagle and started to chase after her mother and the floating rings. However, they split up and the rings went in different directions. "No, the blue one got away!"
"Let's just see where this one goes." Kightowl said seriously as she and Eagle ran after the orange ring. Adventually, the ring stopped at an apartment and flew through on of the windows. "Well, I guess that miraculous' champion is local."
"That's good to know, but where did the other one go?" Eagle asked out of curiosity. Little did they know was that the other ring had found its champion all the way on the other side of the world. And one moment was about to bring them both together in more ways than one.
