Chapter Text
"A.. Ba.. Ta.. Tsa.."
The sound of children reciting Koran echoed through the wall of the mosque, alongside the quiet sound of dew hitting the ground.
It was 4 in the afternoon, where most of the people there continued their daily activities after doing the Asr prayer. Some were chatting at the nearby stall, some were playing games, some decided to read the Koran together at the mosque.
It was the usual chill day, with William correcting the kids' prayer and teaching them to be fluent in Arabic.
"Tsa.. Sa.."
Noticing the slight mistake in Fritz's pronounciation, William gently tapped his pencil on Fritz's Koran and stopped him.
"You need to differentiate the 'tsa' and the 'sya,' or else you're going to mess the meaning of the verse," he commented.
"Really..?" Fritz asked in bewilderment. He glanced at his Koran, before tearfully looking back at Will. "Astagfirullah, I have read them wrong.."
Seeing his frown, William calmly shook his head and raised his pencil.
"It's okay, you're still practicing. By the time we reach the next chapter, you need to remember this.. Aight? Practice makes perfect, Allah loves people who are willing to learn," he calmed him down.
William then proceeded to pet his head, assuring him that it was fine. "It's aight, we will learn together, okay?" After hearing that, Fritz slowly stopped sobbing and rubbed his eyes, getting rid of the remaining tears on his eyes. William handed him a tissue, which the kid received with full gratitude.
"Masya Allah, you are very patient and kind, Ustadz Will!" Fritz's eyes lit up.
"Allah loves patient people," Will nodded.
The kid lowered his gaze, muttering something under his breath. Then, he stared at Will again. "Does that mean that Allah doesn't love Bonnie..?"
Then, a loud bang could be heard, followed by a kid's weep and the sound of someone screaming on top of their lungs,
"INALILLAHI, HOW COULD YOU MESS THIS UP?! I'VE TOLD YOU BEFORE, DIDN'T I?!"
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry!! Please forgive me-"
Fritz covered his ears to shield himself from the chaos, while William couldn't help but to say..
"Astagfirullah.." as he shook his head.
