The first time she ever really met him she was a little shocked. That time he'd stared at her weirdly, his doe eyes widening dramatically, but then he'd come to his senses and waved to her. She'd awkwardly smiled and bowed to him.
That time she'd actually found out his name. And really, she'd be elated if the next thing she heard after his name wasn't the fact that he was her step-mom-to-be's son.
They'd sat next to each other with Jungkook's- that was his name- brother on her other side. His brother- Yoongi- was actually a big ass relief, because she actually knew him, they'd even sometimes hang out together as he was her best friend's boyfriend.
"Min Jiyoon, you're actually my step-sister," he'd snickered, covering his smile with his hand.
"I wanna see Jimin's reaction to this," she'd answered, not noticing her long time crush staring at her and his brother with suspicion practically all over his face.
After that they didn't meet for a while. They actually didn't meet for an entire month if you didn't count the awkward encounters they had at school every time she and her friend- Park Jimin- met them in the hallways.Yoongi would smile at them, maybe peck Jimin on the lips and wave to her. She'd just bow with a smile to Jungkook and maybe even fist-bump with Yoongi and talk to him, but never actually talk to the younger brother. Jimin on the other hand didn't have problems talking to either of the siblings.
The awkwardness went on for a month, until their parents actually decided to move in with each other, and seeing as their kids didn't really mind, they managed to decide and do everything in two weeks.
Min Jiyoon had to pack everything she had for the first time in the seventeen years of her life. But she struggled through it with the forced help of Park Jimin and his boyfriend...or her step-bro...whatever.
At first she was reluctant. Damn, nobody would want their brother snooping around in their things. But then, Yoongi was so lazy that he barely moved from his spot on her bed, so she figured she could be chill with her stuff.
In two weeks she was actually living with her long-time crush.
All she thought about was him. She'd already seen his room. She'd actually sat on his bed and watched him slave around for her, carrying her stuff into her room.
"Are you using my dongsaeng?" Yoongi had asked her, squinting even more than he usually was, making him look like an arctic fox. That was a damn random thought.
"No?" she'd answer-asked.
"You have Suga's bro carrying your stuff." Namjoon- Yoongi's friend- had stated calmly. She'd just shrugged and got back to texting Jimin.
Her friend was more excited about the whole thing than she was. Man, her friend was weird, but he was adorable as fuck and she really loved him, so it was okay.
It was unbelievable- how quickly she got used to Jungkook. Before the move-in she'd been so shy of him she couldn't even utter a word whenever he was around.
Now they actually hung out more with each other than with Yoongi, though both used to avoid each other like the plague.
Jiyoon found out that the weird guy Jungkook always hung out with was Kim Taehyung, who was actually Jimin's age. Moreover, Jimin and Taehyung were kind of close and Jiyoon acted offended for an entire hour after she found out about them being friends all along. But then Jimin came over with ice-cream and Jiyoon got over it.
Jungkook really liked his new step-sister. She wasn't that pretty if he thought about it, but she was so cute and pouty, and she had adorable wide eyes. She was smaller than Jimin, and even smaller than Yoongi, which was a really new thing for the boy.
Being surrounded by gay people all his life he really thought that one day he'd like a boy, too. After all, both his brother, his best friend and even his brother's friends were gay.
But then he saw Min Jiyoon for the first time.
And after months of living just next to her and treating her like his baby-sister, he felt really wrong when thinking of her in any compromising way. Damn, she looked like a baby, and it seemed like she was an innocent angel from above, when really, she was just a bratty brat.
It was one of those times when he dozed off, thinking about kissing Jiyoon unconscious, when Yoongi first addressed the matter of his undying crush for their step-sister.
"You look like a lovesick puppy every time she smiles. I think, by now, even mom knows how damn whipped you are," Yoongi bluntly stated, emphasizing his sentence by kicking Jungkook's leg off his bed.
"Pffft, I think her dad knows, too." Jungkook turned to glare at Taehyung, feeling betrayed. Tae just shrugged and gave him the I'm-so-damn-serious-you-could-die look.
"You're seriously exaggerating," the youngest scoffed at his hyungs, feeling flustered from being confronted like that.
"Kookie, it's not even funny anymore. Every time her dad sees you two together, I swear he wants to push your heads together, so that you make out and get rid of that stupid sexual tension floating around you."
Yoongi seemed unnaturally concerned with his love-life and it was seriously creeping Jungkook out. Maybe not as much as Tae's glare, but it still was.
"Jiyoon's our sister! Are you two nuts?" he exclaimed, throwing Yoongi's pillow at Tae's face to make him stop staring creepily.
"She's not, she's our step-sister, and is really- and I mean fucking really- fond of you," Yoongi looked like he wanted to kick them out of the room but beat Jungkook up at the same time.
"Man, Jimin says Jiyoon is totally into you," Taehyung had finally decided to take mercy on his best friend and stop the staring.
"He doesn't need to know that. It's so obvious I'm sure our nonexistent cat knows already." Why was Yoongi so exasperated?
"What are you even talking about?" Jungkook was getting frustrated, too.
"Gosh, I'm out, he's fucking stupid. Deal with your brother alone," Taehyung stood up and left the room- no, stormed out of the room- leaving a confused Kookie and a Yoongi that wanted to tear his hair from his own scalp.
Jiyoon was pretty sure she was an insomniac. The only thing she did at night was thinking about her step-bro and kicking her blanket around. He was so hot, that she wanted to slap him, but then thoughts about slapping brought her thoughts about spanking, and those were damn dangerous.
She kicked her blanket again as thoughts of Jungkook's legs filled her head again. Why was she so pervy? She was pretty sure Jungkook thought she was an angel or something. She'd always thought guys were pervy and always jacked off to their crushes. Maybe she was more of a guy than she thought she was...
What?
"Oh my God, Jiyoon, why are you so stupid?" she whined, kicking around in her bed like some damn maniac.
Then she decided that she might as well go eat something. She was too damn skinny, there was no way she'd get fat from a slice of pizza at night.
Shoving her feet into her warm slippers she dragged herself to the kitchen and switched the light on with her hip.
And there he was, standing there in his red boxer briefs and staring at her like a deer caught in headlight. Of course he'd be there to see her looking like a lump of clothes in her ratty old PJs and with her hair all fuzzy and in a stupid bun on top of her head. She wanted to kick something.
"Hey," Jungkook awkwardly smiled as she blushed, squirming under his gaze. He figured she was uncomfortable and turned to put his mug on the kitchen counter.
What the fuck was she going to do now? It wasn't like she would start stuffing her face in front of his long-time crush.
"Um...hi, oppa," she replied, deciding a glass of water would be really comforting at the moment. Her face felt like it was on fire.
"Why are you awake?" Jungkook asked, feeling bolder because of the term. Every time she called him 'oppa' he felt like he was the king of the world...or something. Ugh, he was fucking cheesy.
"I was...thirsty?" Gosh, she sounded stupid. And then she blushed even more when she realized the double-meaning of her words. And why was Kookie staring at her that expectantly? Oh, yeah, the water...
"I don't feel like sleeping..." he awkwardly muttered, but then decided to be bolder. She was one of her best friends. Why the fuck was he so nervous? "Let's go watch something," he suggested, raising an eyebrow inquisitively.
"Oh...Okay, oppa," she grinned and followed him to the living-room.
In half an hour they'd fallen back into comfort and Jiyoon's legs were even on Jungkook's thighs. It was cozy...except that Jiyoon was turned on by the way her oppa kept biting his lip.
Pervy li'l bitch...
"Oppa," she called him carefully, making sure her voice didn't shake or crack.
"Yeah, Ji?" he replied, absent-mindedly massaging her shin. She wanted to cry... and she almost did.
"I think I wanna go to sleep."
Jungkook turned his head to look at her, and narrowed his eyes at the way she looked. Probably wide-awake...and wide-eyed...and blushing...fuck.
"You sure?" he asked, squinting in suspicion, looking disturbingly like Yoongi.
"Yeah..." she breathed out, removing her legs from his lap.
"Okay, good night," he relaxed back into the couch.
Jiyoon pouted, but went back to her room, sulking under the blankets and kicking them occasionally.
Jungkook and Jiyoon were watching TV on the couch, somewhat awkwardly cuddling. Each of them was killing the sweet couple on the other side of the couch in their minds. The YoonMin couple, that was cuddling non-awkwardly on the other side of the couch. Yoongi's permanent glare was gone as he looked at his boyfriend. Jimin, on the other hand, was extremely delighted, pressing his back against Yoongi's chest as the elder's arms that were snaked under his arms were squeezing him softly.
The maknaes on the other side were kind of hugging, too. Like...Jungkook's arm was around Jiyoon's shoulder and she was slightly leaning into him, but the tension was so solid, Jiyoon swore she could cut it with a knife.
Thankfully (or not) Taehyung interrupted the cuddle session by storming into the living-room like he owned the place and plopping down between the YoonMin and the maknaes.
"I'm going to die," he stated, turning to stare at Jimin. Creeped out, the small boy pressed himself even further into Yoongi.
"I'm going to celebrate," Jungkook said, rolling his eyes while Jiyoon giggled.
Yoongi scoffed, like he was done with everyone's shit. "Don't tell me you have an unachievable crush, too."
"I do, but that's not the problem."
"Then what is?" Jungkook asked, nudging Taehyung with his knee.
"I just walked up to Hoseok and told him about my feelings." He was rubbing his face now, muffling half of his sentence.
"Wait, who is that even?" "You're so stupid." "At least someone has the balls to confess."
"You're gay, too?"
Everyone turned to look at Jiyoon like she was retarded as she gaped at them.
"Hun, you're kinda slow," Jimin piped up, clearly not caring about the feelings of his best friend. Jiyoon pouted cutely as Jungkook coughed awkwardly and looked away from her face.
"'m not!"
"Yes you are. The evidence is hugging you right now." Jiyoon looked at Yoongi like he was weirder than Taehyung and she combined, and then at Jungkook, who looked like he wanted to die.
"What?" she squeaked confusedly, scrunching up her nose.
"Oh God, Jiyoon, you're dumber than Jimin," Taehyung groaned.
The reaction was hilarious. Jiyoon gasped, Jungkook's eyes looked like they were going to pop out, Jimin looked like he'd been stabbed and Yoongi started beating the shit out of Taehyung.
"But it's true. She's so dense, hyung. He's so obviously crushing on her that her ribs should've cracked by now!"
Jiyoon's chin was getting lower and lower as her eyes got wider and wider. What? Just...What?
Her crush, on the other hand, looked mortified.
"You have a crush on me?" Jiyoon squeaked out, the pitch of her voice higher than the usual, which was before now considered impossible.
"Of course he does, he's fucking whipped."
"Oh my Gosh, Taehyung, get out!" Jimin shouted at his friend, grabbing his ear and dragging him right out of the house. Yoongi, looking hella surprised, followed him like a lost puppy.
Which left the 'lovebirds' together...alone...after Taehyung's stupid outburst.
"Um..."
"Yeah..."
"You-" "I-"
"You first," they both said at the same time. Jiyoon frowned at her oppa and he squirmed, deciding to talk first.
"I...may or may not have liked you for a while," he forced out, looking embarrassed as ever.
"Oh," Jiyoon breathed out, widening her eyes and biting her lip in thought.
"Oh? I just told you I like you," Jungkook was frowning now.
"I heard it." Jiyoon looked like she was deep in thought and he thought he was disturbing her mind-process with his very existence.
"And?"
"I'm kind of shocked out of my mind. I feel like they're right, though." Jiyoon frowned again. "I could've guessed, you can't lie to save your life."
"What?" Now Jungkook looked mortified again.
"I mean you treat me better than any other boy would treat their step-sister. And then you stare at me, but I stare at you, too...which kind of makes me look really dumb. I could've guessed and saved myself a lot of time and sleep."
Jiyoon was rambling. She was rambling, fidgeting with the hem of her shirt and looking adorable as fuck.
She didn't realize at first what was happening, because she opened her eyes wide but the only thing she could see was a flurry of black purplish hair. Then she felt something soft against her lips and she belatedly thought about her stupidity before shutting her eyes tight and pressing her lips against the boy's.
It felt like magic, really. It felt like the butterflies in her belly were trying to tear her up and leave, like her heart was going to burst any moment.
Her hands came up to tangle in his purplish hair and he groaned before snaking his arms around her waist and pressing her closer to himself.
"I said, I like you," Jungkook muttered, moving away from her face.
"I like you, too."
Jungkook grinned a shit-eating grin and Jiyoon felt like kissing him again.
"What do you think they're doing?"
"They're eerily quiet," Jimin muttered, pressing his ear to the door.
"Do you think it worked?" Taehyung asked, rubbing his ear, which was still sore.
"A-a-ah..."
"Was that a moan?" the smallest of the three asked, moving away from the door with a terrified expression.
"I think it was."
"Obviously."
