Sun has go down, but not will the natlan people, they already take care of the abyss and celebrate the moment, but one battle still need to be settled to finish them all, Natlans really like to celebrate every moment, who knows what might lies ahead on tomorrow or even day after tomorrow?. Mavuika has arrive with her motorcycle , her fiery red hair flames with a breeze, she took of the helmet and take a step towards the celebration.
Heroes of Natlans, of course ,also welcomed her, the party was helded by people of springs , the pyro archon waving to all her people that waved back, “I Hope you enjoy your time Mavuika” as traveller says when indulging the food with her companion, Paimon.
“Sure i will” replies her with soft smile.
“Oh Pyro Archon! Glad to see you here!” Mualani welcomed her and give her a welcome drink “Hope you enjoy the party! We need to get ready for the dance after this, oh i need xilonen to pick my favorite song this time” she then rushes to the DJ spot where Xilonen were preparing the music.
She let out a chuckles, it’s been a while since she can enjoy the peaceful around her, they almost fighting the abyss non-stop, it feels like a breath of fresh air.
The redhead saw the figure of a tall man standing in the corner, aloof from the crowd of people, he still wear his coat and mask as always, of course she knews that figure well.
“Capitano”
The figure looks shock and turn himself to her
“Mavuika, it’s been a while”
He took some sips on welcoming drink, she stared him a bit
“Pardon captain, this may seems unpolite but.. how did you eat and drink with that mask?”
“Oh so you curious with this kind of thing ? well.. you can take a look”
He take a sip with his mouth just like the other human, mavuika then realized
“I’m sorry, i dont know that it still part of your face” Mavuika looking down.
“It's okay mavuika, you're just curious, and curiosity is natural.”
She took another sips and scoot a little bit to capitano side.
“So.. do you have any plan right after this war? You already siding with Natlan and helping us...”
Capitano took a long silent, obviously she cannot know what plan he hides with the lord of the night.
“I might go back to Fatui of course, well...”
He took a long pause
“ I really wish we can continue to work together, Mavuika”
Is it his tone or because it was the captain? His voice when calling her name sounds soft and warm, she shook her head because of her imagination.
“Yeah, me too, not all of people share the same experience as me though.. you’re the one who probably could understand my struggle” says her.
She then took some of snacks thats on the table, giving it to him.
“Saurian crackers, they’re a good companion to the drinks”
“Thank you” he took a cracker and take a bite. Honestly his companion kinda make her calm, even though there’s not many word exchanged.
And then went silent again. Who knows this man beside her was actually knows her before she become archon? But why she can’t remember a thing about him...
“Ah pyro archon and the captain” suddenly Kinich pass in front of them, Mavuika jolted. “Oh Kinich? Is there something?”
“Just make some announcement there will be some slow dance, and maybe you want to join” Says him.
“Hm... maybe, thank you for your information!” Kinich pays some nod, Ajaw is on his way to throw some harsh word but kinich pull his tail makes him yelled indescribable word.
“You seems close with your people” Capitano is the first to break the silence.
“Um yeah.. I mean they have to trust their leader right, they need me, also we cannot do the war alone.”
“ I see , good leader needs to have a stable teamwork”
He took another sips again. She stole some glance to him
“Capitano, lets have some toast, for the goodluck tomorrow”
Mavuika moving her glass to him.
In a brief of moment they share a gaze with no words, he notice how long and silky his dark hair was, also how tall is he, capitano is watching her burning eyes that feel like a pierce towards his soul.
“Cheers”
There’s a clink in between their glass. She finally finished her drink.
Mavuika laughed “I rarely do this, it really helps lifts my mood up”.
The captain smiles in the back of his mask, he might be not sharing so much word but actually he did enjoy her company too.
The music changes and the atmosphere slowly shifted. Oh Mavuika remember about the dance that Kinich mentioned before
“Capitano, do you dance?”
“uh… not really..i rarely done it”
“Then take my hand and I’ll show you” Mavuika take his gloved hand.
“It’s should be easy..” she take some steps and make a simple dance move with him
“you take my hand here and I will twirl” The redhead then move around and take his hand again
Capitano awkwardly follows her lead “You pretty good for a beginner captain” She smiles
“..Uh thank you?”
Then their hand intertwined, follows the rhythm of the slow music, little did they notice some people have eyes on them, the pyro Archon and harbinger, dancing in the dim light. Feels like only them exist in whole Teyvat.
Mavuika then started to realize of many eyes looked at them, she wanted to stop but capitano steady his hand on her shoulders.
“Don’t pay attention to them, eyes on me Mavuika.”
She felt her cheek burns, how bold of him
“I thought you were a beginner Capitano”
“Well.. I might be a fast learner”
She laughs.
They move along with slow music, he stomp, she follows, twirl, even a when he tilts and her back arch, it felts so natural. Mavuika even leans to his coat, so he can be warm even though he was the ice, she may not noticed but capitano smiles behind that mask.
“I don’t know Mavuika is together with capitano” whisper Paimon
“Shhh just enjoy the view” reply traveller with soft smiles.
The music stops and everyone is clapping, even some fatuis that joined the party.
They bowed to the audience.
After the dance they decided to take some stroll on the grassland. Viewing the moon, sharing some chat and laugh, capitano enjoy some tepetlisaur that pay visit to their place, mavuika shows him the saurians nest, and share some night ride with mavuika’s motorcycle.
“Whoa I haven’t talked that long since last battle, I’m sorry you must find my story boring”
“No, in the otherwise I did enjoy it” Reply Capitano.
“Even all those story about my sloppiness that makes me slips on my own puddle that I made on the exercise? “
“Even that one.”
Mavuika sheepishly laugh to hides her embarrassment.
“Now tell me about you capitano.”
They sit in the middle of field. She actually took some snack to be eaten when they have talk.
“First… well.. I was from khaenriah.. I was one of the knight…”
He started to tell a story about him even though Mavuika knows he didn’t give a details about some of it, she still listen.
“I’m still trying to remember your name…I must have heard you somewhere…”
“Don’t force it is fine, maybe one day you will know”
Their gaze meet again.
“Mavuka, it’s late, you have to reserve your energy for tomorrow”
“uh… right.. too bad”
“yeah..”
Silent pause again between them, they know something is going on between them but they try to look calm.
“C’mon hop on, i will take you to fatui camp”
“I can walk by my own…”
“It’s too far, besides we’re on the same direction! I insist.”
“Okay if that what’s pyro archon wants..”
Mavuika turn on her motor engine, try not to add too much speed. Enjoying the night ride and also capitano as companion behind her
“i..if I went to fast you can hold on to me” says her
“I don’t want you to feel uncomfortable”
“It’s fine! Hold on”
Mavuika adding some speed to her motorcycle, capitano shocked and started to hug her
“S..Slow down please!!’
“Why you so afraid? You’re the captain??”
“When I mean it’s late I don’t mean you being reckless!!”
The motorcycle shift into flying mode
“MAVUIKA…”
“Okay-okay I will drove slowly!’
He let go of his embrace on her.
Then they arrived safely on fatui camp, at least she slow down the speed in time.
“Thank you for the ride Mavuika, but please be careful and mind your passenger” he sighed
“I’ll have that in mind “ she smiled innocently
Right after he turned his back to go back in his tent he turned his head to mavuika
“You adding the speed so I can embrace you I know it.”
At this point mavuika face turned so red that even her hair is flaming glow into yellow.
“I DON’T??”
she did, yea, capitano was too shy, she just adding extra fuel so he will make the move first.
“I won’t tell anyone don’t worry”
“CAPI…”
He went back with some brooch and put it to her palm
“For you, good luck on your battle tomorrow, please sent me my regards to traveller too”
She nods.
“I’ll be… right back…”
“Be careful”
She reluctantly started her motorbike and took a quick glance at the capitano, waving cautiously.
When she arrived on her home she took a brief view to brooch that capitano gives.
“Thrain..”
“So you were him… I’m glad”
She helded the brooch near her heart, the old name that bring back memories..
“I will exchange her life with mine.. so the sacrifice will be equivalent”
“Is that your promise ?”
“Yes, lord of the night”
