Only the silent typing of finger against screen could be heard in the room, the human concentrated and deep in thoughts on his virtual fight.
Pokémon pocket is a game, alright ? And Niko was winning, all he needed was one more turn so his Moltres ex could defeat the foe’s Yanmega ex.
All was silent except his thoughts, until…
“What are you doing ?”
Palkia had an habit of just spawning in his room, or wherever he was really, and chat with him.
They laid besides him in bed, watching whatever the human was doing.
“Gambling.” He answered.
Well, to be fair, Pokémon Pocket is a lot of gambling.
“Doesn’t look like it, though.”
“Well, not now, right now I’m fighting to get time hourglasses, so I can open packs faster.”
The fight was finished with one final attack, and he won.
“What ?” Came the deity’s very confused reaction.
He put the phone down to turn to the dragon type, currently in one of their human forms.
“Okay, so, this is a game where you basically open packs to get Pokémon cards- yes it’s virtual, and with these you can make a collection of cards called decks to fight with.”
He returned to the main page, the Mew, Dialga, and Palkia packs most prominent on it, which he clearly saw the legendary besides him ogle at. “And yesterday the company released a you and Dialga pack.”
The legendary let out a small “oooo” sound at the information, not understanding everything but having the spirit. They smiled and slightly nudged their friend.
“So, you’re trying to get a Dialga, right ?”
They knew that their sibling and this human had a special bond, it reminded them of a dragon and their little youngling at times, not that they’ve ever said anything about it though, but to them, it only made sense that Niko would try and get Dialga first.
They did not expect for him to shy away, a small blush on their face.
“Hum..” The human broke the silence, unsure. “I’ve actually been trying to get you first.” Silence. “Since yesterday.” Even more silence.
Until…
“Oh.” Came Palkia’s very eloquent response, blushing just as bright as the human now. “I see.”
They watched as the human tapped on the hourglasses, seeing as they had many now, then on them, Palkia could not explain why they got so happy at that, and tapped on “opening 10 packs” and seeing that Niko could, with a sudden “Oh !”
They then watched as he opened another app, and read through what was being said :
‘Macarena runs out :
I can open 10 packs at once.
Do I do it ?’
‘Would you put me in horny jail again :
DO IT
For Palkia’
They snorted upon reading the texts, which earned them a little eye roll from the brown haired mortal.
“What ?” He asked sarcastically with a smile.
“Nothing, just thought you’d be more secretive about our..” They paused to put a hand on top of his. “Friendship.”
“Nah, they match my freak, all they know is that I really, really like Palkia.” He gently bumped his shoulder against theirs as a little teasing behavior. This time it was their time to roll their eyes.
“Fine..” They sighed.
Niko then went back to Pokémon pocket, picking the Palkia pack, and clicking to open 10 at once.
“Manifesting my presence.” They said, moving their hands which made the human giggle. “Manifesting my presence !”
The human slid his hand on the screen, and all 10 packs opened, some of them lighting up, which got the two very much excited.
And lo and behold..
Palkia ex showed up.
“YES !” Celebrated the human, accidentally turning off his phone trying to take a screen shot of the card.
“Yay !” Chimed in the dragon, chuckling at the fact they actually manifested the card.
“Lesgooo !” Palkia could see the messages on the other app absolutely going nuts :
‘Would you put me in horny jail again :
PALKIAAAAA’
‘GambleLord :
IS THAT A GOD PACK ?!’
‘Manifesting Darkrai AR :
YEAAAHHHHH’
“Okay, so, there are like, 3 more cards of you, tempted to hunt for them too.” The human eventually broke the silence.
The deity huffed in amusement.
“Why do you care so much about cards that don’t even exist of me, when I am always just a call away ?”
He looked at them with a raised brow.
“What do you mean ?”
“I mean-“ They rested their head on their arms, completely laid. “All you have to do is call me, say my name, and I’ll be there in seconds. Not many people pray to me, if at all, so I’ll hear you.”
The human stared at them for a couple of seconds, processing the information.
“O-Okay, I’ll keep that in mind. And uuuhh..” He paused, putting the words together in his head to form a proper sentence. “I like to complete sets.”
“Ah.” Was, once again, the deity’s very eloquent response.
