The villain and hero were fighting over who would rule the town now that the leader had been killed "I SHOULD GET TO DO IT, YOU'RE ONE OF THE STRONGEST WARRIORS THEY NEED YOU!" The villain screamed but suddenly the hero had an idea
"what if we did a russian roulette of sorts?" The hero proposed, the villain thinks to himself for a moment before asking "and what would this russian roulette like thing be?" His eyes narrow at the hero awaiting an answer "we have 2 glasses of wine infront of us but the russian roulette twist is one of them is poisoned so whoever doesnt drink the poison will rule the town" the hero explains "so what do you say, Arthur?" The hero says offering his hand to the villain "deal." The villain says shaking the hero's hand.
The hero calls his apprentice over "fetch me 2 glasses of wine, Elliott" "yes, sir!" Elliott says as they run off to get the wine as the hero told them to, the hero then rummages a few draws of the room he and the villain are in and soon finds the bottles he was looking for and Elliott soon returns with the glasses of wine putting them down in front of the hero on the table "look away, Arthur" the hero demands and the villain listens turning away as the hero puts the poison in, putting the vials back in his pockets as he instructs his apprentice to mix them up whilst he faces away as the villain is, once the apprentice has finished mixing them up they both turn back around and the hero gestures towards the glasses "go ahead villain choose your glass" and the villain steps forwards before taking one of the glasses, the hero then steps forward and takes the other.
The villain takes the glass to his lips and drinks as does the hero albeit a couple beats after the villain did, the villain soon falls to the floor the glass abruptly falling, the glass smashing with a loud 'CRASH' as he does so "YOU DID IT HERO!" Elliott exclaims with a huge smile looking down at the villains life-less body by their feet but as they look up from the villains body they notice the hero's mouth begin to bleed as the hero gives them a weak smile "s-sir...?" They say their voice trembling a little bit "lead this town for me, Elliott, keep them safe, i trust you" Nathan says sincerity filling his voice despite his voice being weak "what but.. the villain drank the poison...?" Elliott says confused "they were both poisoned, my boy, so that the villain couldnt hurt anyone else, just promise me you'll rule the town, please it's my only dying wish" the hero says sitting himself on the ground as he feels his body grow weaker and weaker as he slowly dies the blood spilling from his mouth even more now.
"O-of course, Hero sir, i promise" Elliott whispers choking back their tears "I'll always love you... my child" Nathan says as his eyes close and his body becomes lifeless on the floor and Elliott's eyes widen when they realise that the hero, their mentor reveals he was their father, the tears spill over as they fall to their knees beside their dead mentor and what they now know is their father.
