Work Text:
Foxy walked to the incinerator sword in hand, each step he took felt harder, and heavier to lift his feet. He walked through the walkway before reaching the metal door, it opened for him and he walked inside.
A wave of nausea crashed into him as he walked inside. It smelled like a rotting body, that was probably the remnant that had been burned out. It was still hot in the room, but not unbearably so. He looked in the corner to see a black and white animatronic
Puppet.
She was lying down on the ground, her body clearly suffering from the heat, but like the ethereal being she is. Her body was still intact. Her white strips were still visible, and her pearly white face still as glistening as before. She layed on her back, and her eyes were darkened, clearly unconscious
Foxy swallowed, gripping his sword, slowly walking towards her. He had to end this, if he made it quick and swift, Puppet wouldn’t feel that much pain.
Foxy had to do this.
Foxy lifted his sword, hovering above Puppet’s heart, but suddenly she shifted. Her pupils became white, and her eyes scanned the room, before laying their eyes on Foxy.
“F-Foxy…?” Pupped rasped, her voice had been ruined due to the flames, and the heat. Though it was clear to FOxy that she was scared, and in so much pain. He decided to respond, putting the sword down. “Hey, Puppet…” Foxy said softly, afraid if he was too loud, Puppet would just wither away.
Puppet tried to get back up, but she fell down. Foxy got on his knees, getting closer to Puppet. E-everything hurts…” Puppet whimpered, Foxy heart wrenched, seeing Puppet like this. Puppets would always seem so brave, and undesirable, even back when they lived in the other dimension. She was untouchable, but she always grounded herself.
“Please don’t…” Puppet whined, Foxy got closer, but her body unconsciously moved away. Clearly knowing what would happen, and what’s going to be her fate. Foxy heart ached, he wished he could simply hold Puppet, tell her that they were safe, and her death wasn’t necessary but that wasn’t the case. “Please, don’t kill me…” She begged, and despite her body screaming at her to stop moving, or maybe to even try and run. She moved towards Foxy.
She laid her head down on his lap, and looked up at him pleadingly. “Take me home, I wanna live with you, and FC…” She rasped, she wanted to go back home. She wanted to watch anime with her family and eat pizza rolls with them, she didn’t want to die.
Foxy felt tears starting to prick the corner of his eyes, he wanted nothing more but to take Puppet back home. Put her under all the blankets, and pillows, and just rest for once in their lives, but he knew that wasn't possible, not anymore. “I’m sorry, you made me promise…” Foxy’s voice cracked as he cradled Puppet’s face with his hand. “Everything will be okay…”
Puppet broke down, as she started to cry. “I-I’m so sorry…” She sobbed, burying her face in Foxy’s lap, wanting to hide from the world, never to be seen again. “I’m sorry for all the pain I caused, the pain I’m causing, right now,” Puppet’s voice was muffled, as she spoke into his legs. Her tears were staining his pants, but Foxy didn’t care anymore. “It’s okay, Puppet.”
Puppet slowly looked up, still very much in pain. “C-can you do me one last favor?” Puppet asked, trying to crack a smile, but unable too, as her smile broke down. Foxy cradled her face once more, remembering how Puppet used to cradle his face like how he was doing it right now too. “Tell me.” Foxy hummed, trying to remain strong, but his will was breaking.
“C-can we pretend like it’s our first time?” Puppet asked, as she almost broke down again. The first time they ever kissed, they had been watching anime, and sitting on the couch… Puppet had been the one who had made the first move, and FOxy just let it happen, but how he adored the kiss. “Of course.” Foxy almost broke down into tears upon hearing the request.
Foxy helped Puppet sit up, he cradled her face, and she smiled, a tear slipping out before she closed her eyes. FOxy followed her actions. Before she leaned in and gave Foxy a kiss. He completely melted into it, wanting nothing more but forgot everything and just stay in this moment
But he had a job to do.
While he was still kissing Puppet, Foxy grabbed the sword next to him, as he aimed it up, for her chest. Puppet must’ve sensed something from all the shifting, because she kissed harder, not wanting the moment to ever end. Foxy didn’t want for it to ever end, but it had too. SO he tried to take everything in.
Puppet’s taste, her looks, her touch, her beauty, her kindness, her bravery, everything.
But the moment had to end, FOxy pushed the sword up, stabbing Puppet in her heart. She gasped, as the kiss ended and she fell back. She fell down, as her breath started to become spartic. Foxy started to cry, as he lifted Puppet up, as he cradled her in his hands.
Puppet eyes flickered as she looked up at Foxy, a smile graced her lips. “I love you,” She sputtered, but she meant it with every last bit of her, every last fiber of her being. “I love you and FC” She didn’t want to leave them be, she didn’t want to leave her family.
“Oh I love you both so much…” She gasped, using the remaining amount of her strength to lift her hand, and cradle FOxy’s face. Like old times sake. Foxy was confused when he was in his old body that he would feel constant pain, but whenever Puppet would touch him, hug him, hold him, the pain would silence.
Foxy grabbed her hand, pressing her warmth into him.
“I love you too….” Foxy started to cry, tears slowly trickling down his face. He held her close for her final moments, wanting to keep her close and warm.
But Puppet’s hand went limp, no longer making an effort to hold him. Foxy opened his eyes to see Puppet’s eyes become a black void… She… was dead…
Foxy cried as he held and rocked Puppet back and forth, like he was cradling her to sleep.
So many nights together
So many hugs and embraces
So many kisses
Puppet… was everything…
But now she was gone, the only thing that was left was all of the memories that Foxy would keep close to his heart for the rest of his life.
Minutes passed and he knew the others would come check in on him, and not wanting to appear weak, he got up.
Carrying Puppet bridal style, like he would’ve if it was their wedding.
He had planned… on giving her a ring…
But it was too late…
So he kept his head forward, the world around him blurring, only focusing on Puppet, keeping her as comfortable as possible. Walking towards Eclipse’s lab, muscle memory coming in hand.
Once he got to the lab, he set her down gently on the table. She looked like she was peacefully sleeping, instead of being dead. Foxy decided to believe this was just like any other night. Puppet was asleep, and nothing else.
He gave her a soft kiss on the forehead.
“I love you” he whispered, one last time.
Then he turned away, and didn’t look back.
