Work Text:

Zoro awoke with a sharp pain, traveling through his whole body. He gasped, holding his chest scar, immediately remembering the events in Sabaody park.

“Fuck, the crew !” He painfully exclaimed, realizing he was all alone, sitting in a huge paw shaped hole.

It’s the Kuma guy, he thought with panic. His mysterious powers had sent him here, while everyone was still fighting. He forced himself on his feet, determined to find a way to go back to his friends. His head spined briefly, and he realized he was feeling extremely weak. He spotted the entrance to a large forest, after a quick scanning of his surroundings. I can probably find some fruits, or hunt wild animals in there, he thought. Eating something would certainly make him feel better.

Entering the forest, he noticed a curiously pleasant smell lingering in the air. It was similar to the cook’s kitchen, when he was in the middle of cooking. Curiously, he inspected his surroundings, realizing the plants were responsible for the yummy perfume. Squinting, he recognized the shape.

“A hot dogs ?” he questioned.

This had to be a trap. Nature was never this forgiving. A plant was growing in front of him, shaped in a delicious food, smelling warm, inviting, bewitching. Zoro shook his head. He had to resist, and figure out a way to verify if any of his surroundings were unedible or poisonous.

As if the universe was willing to answer his question, he spotted a boar nearby, sniffing a similar plant to the one that grew before him, before swallowing it whole, happily chewing, and running off in an energetic shape.

“So… not poisonous.” Zoro remarked, staring at the hot dog plant. Then, what was the trick ?

He detached the hot dog from the leaf, giving it one last inspection, before taking a small bite. The flavors melted on his tongue, and he hummed in satisfaction. To his utter surprise, the plant regrew a similar hot dog. Was it even bigger ?

Zoro’s senses warned him again. This was too good to be true. A forest providing perfectly edible, filling, delicious food, and this indefinitely ? He had to be dreaming. Finishing his hot dog, he took a walk around the area, checking for any other human presence. When he found none, he allowed himself to sit down, resting his swords on the grass surrounding him.

He was going to take a nap, when a few plants grew around him. Takoyakis, onigiris, hot dogs and burgers melting in cheese were seemingly offering themselves to him.

“Uuh, I already ate something, thanks though.” he said, wondering if the plants could understand him.

He was surprised by a loud growl of his stomach, catching the plants attention, as they grew closer.

“I didn’t realize I was this hungry.” he thought, looking at his stomach.

The takoyaki plant was especially captivating. He indulged, and picked one up. Immediately, another round snack grew, and Zoro thought it was definitely bigger. He swallowed the first takoyaki in one go, curiously grabbing the new one. Again, the plant created another one for him, twice as big.

Zoro’s curiosity led him to taste various types of plants, often taking seconds to test if every plant would regrow the food bigger. He came to the conclusion that they all did. One of the plants started spilling a liquid, taking the role of a small fountain.

“Is this sake ?” Zoro asked, eyes widening.

As he leaned forward to confirm his suspicions, a loud hiccup escaped him.

“Shit,” he muttered, massaging the top of his stomach. “I don’t even remember how much I ate.” He waved off the plants. “Thanks guys, you can leave now I’m good.”

His stomach growled hungrily once more, and Zoro widened his eyes in surprise.

“Damn, uh. I guess I could take a few more bites.”

The plants seemed pleased, and grew even bigger aliments. Zoro started by giving a taste to the sake fountain, and he hummed pleasantly when he found out it was perfectly tailored to his taste. He wondered if it was luck, or if the plants could somewhat adapt to his palate. Biting into a hamburger, he thought of the annoying cook. What would he think of such a place ? Would he love it, using it as inspiration for his own recipes ? Or would he think it could never replace a chef ? He then smiled, as he knew the perfect guy to love this place : his captain.

Too lost in his thoughts, Zoro soon realized he had picked up a third hamburger with his greasy hands. Maybe the multiple fights against Kuma had drained his energy so much he needed to eat double the amount he usually would to recover ? Many questions spiralled in his mind as he took a bite.

However, the food and sake dulled his thinking, and he soon indulged into eating freely. He felt his belly swell uncomfortably against his haramaki, and he decided to remove it. He felt much better afterwards, having more room to fit the increasingly big portions the plants offered.

As if they really were reading his mind, new plants grew, proposing different foods so the meal wouldn’t go repetitive. The swordsman spotted chips, and he leaned in to grab some.

“Oh yeah, let me get those- ghhUUURP”

A huge gurgly burp escaped him, and he stopped his motion in surprise.

“Sorry, I had no idea this was coming.” He apologized to the plants, that didn’t even look bothered one bit.

He managed to take the chips, the saltiness of them only increasing his hunger. After he indulged in a sixth hot dog, he leaned back, chewing and painfully stroked his belly. His gut had grown into one swollen mass, imprisoned by his pants.

“You’re bothering me.” he complained, reaching. But his belly distended some more as he swallowed, and his pants unbuttoned on their own, freeing his belly with a bounce. Zoro sighed in relief, gulping more out of the sake plant now that more room had been made.

His hunger seemingly had no end, and he stuffed his face with greasy foods that made his stomach incredibly round and heavy. The sake fountain was truly straight out of his dream, and he drank to the point of tipsiness. Too bloated, he couldn't lean over his belly anymore, having to rest on the palm of his hands. But the plants, in addition to all their already incredible qualities, started feeding him themselves.

“Shit, thanks guys.” He said, his mouth full. “I feel like I’m gonna nap soon, though. You can come back later if you- UUUUURP !”

Zoro’s burp resonated into the forest. Too drunk to feel embarrassed, he lowered himself on his elbows, listening to his belly’s digestion. His eye-lids were heavy, and his breath transformed into snores. He coughed, muttering under his breath.

“I forgot, I can’t sleep yet.” The plants lowered their leaves, almost disappointed. “Sorry guys, I just came here to get some fuel, I have to get back to my friends now.”

But before he could move, the grass piled up under his back, mimicking the form of an impossibly comfortable pillow. He got sleepy again, now being able to stroke his swollen belly as his back rested. He massaged one long, quieter burp out of him, and his eyes closed.

That’s the moment an enormous piranha plant chose to show itself, mouth wide open, reading to devour the sleeping and swollen swordsman. A sharp katana slash resonated through the forest, and a beat later, the piranha plant’s head fell, to the horror of the surrounding food plants.

“I know something was up.” Zoro said, standing with Kitetsu in hand, massaging his belly with the other. He smirked cockily in the plants faces. “Now what ?You gave me all this food, I’m beaming with calories and energy, and your boss is dead.”

The plants all started hiding into the ground, as Zoro giggled. This was good, actually, he thought. He had found an easy access to food, allowing him to train all day harder than before. He would come back stronger, so strong he would never fail his crew again.
