Chapter Text
The big, round man tucks his pups into bed, pressing a kiss to each of their foreheads. Just as he straightens up, one of them practically bounces under the covers.
"Daddy! Tell us the story about the bad villain again!"
Eggman sighs, rubbing his temples. "Again? Haven’t I told you that story a thousand times?"
Another pup pipes up. "Uh, yeah? But it’s fun every single time!"
"And you always change it up a little," another adds, swaying eagerly.
The room quickly fills with pleas, each pup begging for just one more retelling. Eggman grumbles, letting out a dramatic sigh as he settles onto the edge of the bed.
"Fine."
Cheers erupt as the pups snuggle deeper into their blankets, eyes wide with anticipation.
Kintobor rests at his desk, hammering away at his newest invention. His lab hums with the sound of machinery and sparking wires. The sound of victory fills him with satisfaction. The brilliant genius, creating machines beyond human imagination—impoundable armies, empowering structures.
Until it all comes crashing down by one nuisance—him.
A streak of deep forest green . Strong, untouchable. Manic the tenrec. A mere obstacle in the scientist’s eyes, a rodent he plans to destroy one day.
Their battle stretches across cities, through deserts, and even skies. It is an endless cycle: Kintobor builds, Manic destroys. Kintobor refuses to surrender—never will he be crushed by a small insect.
Until one day, everything stops. The back and forth of the evil scientist and the annoying tenrec, comes to a halt.
The pups, wide-eyed and hanging on to every word, are now begging for more.
“Daddy, what happened next?”
“Yeah, tell us!” one of them calls out, bouncing in excitement.
Eggman smirks, feeling the familiar tug of their anticipation. He’s always left them in suspense, and it never fails to keep them hooked.
The round man chuckles, settling back into his chair, tapping his fingers against the armrest as if contemplating the tale’s next twist. “Oh, he’s still around… just busy building machines, for little ones like you. To make them feel happy.”
The pups smile and giggle, their yawns escaping their mouths as their eyes grow heavy with sleep.
Eggman chuckles softly, glancing at the clock before saying, “I think it’s time for bed now.” He tucks them under the covers, their little yawns filling the air as they settle in. He gives each of them a soft, lingering kiss on their foreheads, his hand resting on their tiny heads just a moment longer than usual.
He starts to walk to the door but pauses, looking back at his kids one more time. His gaze softens before he quietly whispers, “Goodnight, little ones.”
With a final glance, he closes the door gently behind him.
