Work Text:
Day 1 - Autumn 1
After an altercation that nearly cost my life. I decided it’s best to finally come back to the only place that I once truly called home. The Constant.
I won’t exactly go over the details on how I started out or what I did during today, we all know by now the usual starting ritual.
I am however going to write my thoughts that occurred on this day.
I was glad to see that everything was mostly the same as it was when I left The Constant. Save for a junkyard that I believe had something to do with Wagstaff. The light colored blues and oranges on the scrap reeked of the man’s previous works, I’ll investigate again later.
I once again decided that my home would be once again among the pigs, the location and benefits were much too useful to stay anywhere else. Birchnuts, a cave, the pigs themselves, they’re all things I know well how to make use of.
And like that, the day was over, I guess I’ll have to get used to the speedy days all over again…
Day 2 - Autumn 1
My torch ended the night with much less fuel than usual… I swear these things get less and less efficient as the years go by. How long has it been since I first stepped in here? A year? Two? Three?? A question for another day perhaps, There’s Work To Be Done!
I think it would be best to move through science quickly so I can get back to learning some shadow magic. I’ve lost most of my affinity ever since I left. I could always form a hand or two, but Dark Swords and Armor have never been so out of reach…
And just as I thought that, a face came to mind, Charlie. The queen of this place that I did work under about a year ago. I still wonder to this day how I even met Her…
Once again, another thought for another day, Work To Be Done.
Luckily by now I have all the basics set up for now. I always had such unfortunate luck with clockworks, I haven’t seen so much as a knight running around. Though, I suppose it’s only been two days, I haven’t even ate anything yet!
So that’s exactly what I did at night. A double meatball dinner. Could use a bit of pineapple, but those don’t exist here sadly.
Day 3 - Autumn 1
Now then, the next order of business? Bunnies. Bunnies and Spiders. Was it 6 or 8 silk that I needed? I don’t remember, I’ll get 8 just in case, maybe make a bug net if it is 6.
I got the spiders dealt with pretty quickly, only 2 or three bites even! And it turns out I did only need 6 for the top hat, so I got that bug net that I mentioned.
I also just barely got all four bunnies before nightfall, only because the savannah was close.
Day 4-5 - Autumn 1
A Prestihatitator day 4?? I’m going suspiciously fast. Though I suppose the next tier will be much harder, as I haven’t found a bishop or a living tree at all yet. Though I guess I know where to look for both. I really don’t want to fight a Treeguard, but I might have to.
I have enough green mushrooms for a Graveyard robbery, and I suppose the negative aura of the place would bring out ol’ Beaky and Crawly. I don’t really need the gears yet anyways.
And that’s exactly what I did! My haul was especially good today. An amulet, 3 red gems, a blue one, and about half a pile of gold.
And that was enough to fill today and the next.
Day 6 - Autumn 1
Interesting! Charlie seems to have revoked her mercy in the darkness, I have a good feeling as to why, but it sure is interesting!
Now then, all that I’m missing is the living logs that I need for the frame… with a few possibilities as to where I could find it. I’ll just look in the other pig forest, it never did me any wrong.
I decided I wanted to destroy the other pig village, it’s a lot of good resources that I don’t need to have this far away right now.
And, I found the living tree I needed! But I forgot to bring my shovel, so I made another one, shame…
Day 7
Now that I took care of all that, I can work on moving all this stuff back home! Which is exactly what I did. It took two trips along the cobble road to bring everything over.
All this walking got me thinking again… Will I ever see the other survivors? And when?
Another thought, another time, The hounds are baying.
And on the night of Day 7, they arrived! Luckily, I was prepared enough with a football helmet and a lowly spear, I’ll get my swords and armor when I get more fuel.
Day 8-10
Alright, Food is becoming an issue, time to go out and find those gears I didn’t bother to get.
I emptied my stuff, I’ll need all the space I can get, I want bees, clockworks, reeds, and just a whole bunch of other things.
First, the bees, I needed a little snack, and they were close. However I also needed to find myself some spiders for silk. A snicker-snack or two later I had that with minimal damage. And then moved on to the bees. Four of them for a box, and one chunk of beeswax. I traveled home to prototype one for later.
Now for the Clockworks, Of course, I had to travel into some new land in order to search for it. I first looked to the swamp, I’ll need the reeds for a few things I’m interested in. I got a whole bushel of the stuff before cutting my losses and looking elsewhere.
I came across a desert. I knew there wouldn’t be much to find in it, however I’ll trace the edges and see if I could snag myself a couple tumbleweeds.
But as I rip open my first bush… I found gears! Which was quite a rare find, not to mention the first one!
I suppose now that I have this, I suppose I could travel back home. On the way I collected 5 butterflies to finish my bee box area.
And, I put the last swing of my bug net to use for some fireflies! I wanted a miner hat. That’s all.
That’ll do it for my first 10-ish days, this was quite the ride to start. Now it’s just a sprint to Winter.
